Plus10: Well done bro, how has the Java backend been, are there opportunities for it, does it really worth learning it when compared to other backend like Node.JS , Python etc. Depends on what you want to do, Java is super reach and good when it come to enterprise application development, most Nigerian FinTech companies prefer Java for their back end systems, also international companies prefer it, it's a good language, you can give it a try. |

Omotaday: Interesting, this great thread seems to be fading.
For me, it all started here, and now I’m a BI developer working outside Nigeria. Thanks to Ejiod and other early contributors.
I wil say one thing, Data analytics or Business Intelligence is not just about dashboards. In the Nigeria tech space, I have noticed that people seem to overlook data modelling (Fact & dimensions, star schema, snowflake) which is part of the most important knowlege when working with data and it's likely to come out during interviews. As a data analyst, your data won't always come from a single table, you could have 10 tables with million of rows just for a report, how do you connect them? To that effect, I will encourage new comers to glance through this topic as they navigate their journey in the field.

Mozzyb1: if u don't want the pvr function, it's the same. The extra 2500 is 4 d pvr, e.g record, pause, rewind, fast forward Thanks a lot but one thing I’ve come to notice is that TV picture quality determines how clear and clean the picture looks on the TV, I just got a supposed 43” new LG TV from Alaba which I realized it’s 40”, thou it’s cheap.. 68k but I need no one to tell me the TV is an original fake. I’m using the old Gotv which is a bit okay in terms of picture quality, but am not yet satisfied at all, I’m contemplating on wether to take the TV to my dad or sell it and get a 49” or 50” tokunbo Toshiba or Panasonic and buy a DSTV decoder .... I’m a TV freak and I hate poor picture quality If you are buying a new LG TV please make sure you locate their office, I learnt LG office is on the island and Ikeja Lagos |

If I may ask, is the DSTV Explora subscription same as the normal DSTV sub? Mozzyb1: It all depends on the technology of the decoder. If u must know, u can't compare dstv zappa HD decoder 2 explora 2 decoder. My people, the explora is a beast. The picture quality is far better than the zappa HD or other HD decoder. No point arguing, do some experiments. I av the 2 decoders, it's confirm |

Donpre: Can't help you with the JavaScript because I haven't learnt any too, but it's as @taofeekdboy said. There's no more I can add.
For flutter, I'm actually a flutter developer and it's for mobile apps, (desktop and web) but the last two are still terrible to use. All of them(React, Vue and Flutter) can consume REST API from DRF Thanks a lot but really I don’t know what to do, I learnt JavaScript is super important for developers, but Python is my first programming language, and I can tell you that I have a natural proclivity for design and beautification especially in terms of color combinations. I haven’t gone far with Django but I need that mental readiness “what’s next?” @taofeekdboy. |

Toppytek: Hi everyone, there’s this JustDjango YouTube tutorials am following, he created a virtual env and immediately a folder “env” appeared on the side bar of the VS code, thou am using windows, and I’ve been using virtual env as well but the folder doesn’t show on the left side bar which is quite surprising.
I have a folder (myprojects) in my virtual environment, so to select the virtual environment which I named “works”, I use “workon works” in the terminal then cd into the folder (myprojects) then I start the project. Rectified. |
Programming › Re: For Django Developer by Toppytek(m): 11:23am On Jul 05, 2020 |
Taofeekdboy: env folder can be created manually, but it is '.env' folder not ordinary folder as this is used to hide some files you don't want to show in your git/github repository. The '. env' folder is added to .gitignore files. JustDjango teaches you as if you are a pro, he doesn't go in-dept with some terminologies.
You can read more on env folder. You’re very correct, d guy too sabi and he no dey calm down, very fast! |

SOLARPOWER1: That is the best environment to learn programming.....And don't do it alone, sell the vision to another serious friend .......Both of would start motivating each other ....Don't focus all your life on that degree you are pursuing o...the labour market out here is not friendly towards graduates without skills...Even if worst case scenario, you graduate with 2.2 plus strong programming skill, I bet you even first class guys without skills will not smell the kind of jobs you will be going for... Take this from a guy who had above 4.0 cgpa in school....it's not worth it without a skill especially in the IT area To any undergraduate out there, this is from me to you. I’d have gone far in tech had it been I have a system back then in school but there’s limit to what one can do on phone without a system. EngtTemmy: Remove the "with page=posts", then check what's happening. It worked! Thanks, I think I’d have to pause the book for now and watch some Django crash courses first, maybe with that I can easily understand the basics of Django before coming back to the book, I might as well delete the whole project and start again because most of the codes are just copy and paste, I’d prefer doing the typing instead copy and paste. Once again thanks everyone. And for those that might need one or two books, you can visit singlelogin dot com, there are so many books there. |
