25omega: What exactly is the fear? Don't you all watch porn on your computers? or don't you have porn DVD. Oh by the way those channels are what you call pay per view which means they wont just broadcast playboy on your regular TV you will have to pay to watch each moviethe fear is bc nigeria cannot handle the regulations countries like the US handles. this will get out of hand, it will be abused and underaged will be viewing this stuff on a daily basis. we are talking of a country that couldnt stop underaged kids from voting "openly" in elections, is it what underaged do in the privacy of their homes/rooms/wherever that this govt can regulate? a rotten american kid can misbehave, get STD/HIV/AIDS/etc . . he has good hospitals and MEDICAID to take care of him. If she has an unplanned teenage pregnancy, there's welfare to come and help. a rotten nigerian kid does the same; HIV/AIDS/STD? . . he's on his own . . .Impact: he spreads the disease before he dies unwanted pregnancy in nigeria . . . she's on her own; impact . . . high rate of maternal mortality, under 5 mortality, abandoned babies . . street kids--->almajiris/hooligans/touts--->breeding materials for violent groups such as Boko Haram, MEND, OPC,Bakkasi etc we can't handle it for now just my opinion |
i'm wiser now ![]() it was emotional hell last weekend. just saw a clinical psychologist and we had a good and emotionally helpful talk. one lesson i learnt today . . . never under-estimate the negative capabilities of human beings and never ignore the exxagerating capacity of the media/tv/online etc on any demographic behavior/stereotype i'm cool ![]() |
CAMNEWTON4PRES: SO is Nigeria, you brought rigging to another level, with underage people voting and you dare open your mouth about democracy? Dude enough, you ain't ruled by Biya so it shouldn't bother you, democracy or not ..our democracy is a mess . . . agreed . . but we've started making some slow expensive progress in terms of democracy. 1. people can abuse our president openly. even teenagers, on facebook with their picture, name and address and no fear of arrest. 2. we've seen opposition parties win at local and state elections 3. we've seen a president very reluctant to use military power on the citizens,as we can see it took him 2yrs and hundreds of violent killings to unleash a state of emergency to certain states 4. our corrupt national assembly stopped our former president from extending his tenure at the expense of the constitution. no senator or congressman was arrested for voting no 5. we've seen courts annul elections where the ruling party "won", no judge was arrested 6. we've had a sick president away on treatment for months, no military take-over within that period. 8. we've seen the rise of opposition parties, no harassment by federal authorites. these are subtle signs that something is happening. one day the rigging will be controlled. in my opinion, we still have this heavy rigging bc of the greed of the opposition parties. if they were wise, they should unite into one big powerful opposition party that will fight the ruling party ward for ward, state for state, polling unit for polling unit. rigging will become more difficult if the opposition party was strong and united. but with weak multiple parties, the PDP just brushes their way past the oppositions by hook or crook. why didnt they rig in lagos? BC ACN, which is strong in lagos, won't let them. imagine if the opposition parties are equally strong all over the country, rigging will be hard. but it's gonna happen someday. |
so you believe the dehumanization of the black woman is not my business as a black man? ![]() |
kevoh: Just laughing because I know another side of this story that is not being told by the scholars. For the sake of their money I'll let it slide. | | V dasparrow: @Post ![]() |
shymexx: Jokers!!Someone is accused of murder and all you could say is strong black woman? |
shymexx: However, I just don't agree with judging over 50 million people based on the immoralities of a few - who're in the minority.i agree, i dont judge millions bc of a few, but remember i told you i almost lost my mind when i saw that, i had never seen anything like that before, i know there's indecency but i never knew of that stuff . . never. i was shocked, momentarily lost my mind. no, i didnt look down on people, even in my state of shock i was not looking down on them, i was more sympathetic than haughty, and more angry at the white establishment . . but then again i cant judge the whites by what a few men were paid to do to a few women who agreed to it all . . you know. i'm okay now, i'm fine with my mind now . . . but it will take me a while to go to any video online . . even youtube is "toxic" to me now . . . for now ![]() I thought you're one of those uppity and sanctimonious Nigerians who are always quick to look down on other black people - when their own country is like Sodom and Gomorrah.obviously you don't know me. and every nigerian knows that our country is a mess. whether we admit it is a different matter. we are different though, we have a different culture, and without disrespecting you, i will state that i like most of our culture in nigeria. ![]() Btw, I didn't make the percentage up - that's the gist everywhere about how cheap naija women are. You can bed the most beautiful girl on any Nigerian university campus for as cheap as £100. I've got an uncle who went for holz in naija in dec. and when he came back - he told me she sh.agged about 20 university undergrads within 3 weeks. That's your Nigeria.yes, that's my nigeria. it aint perfect. poverty can do a lot to a woman and it may interest you to know that not everyone who calls herself an undergraduate is actually an undergraduate. i remember when i was a student back home we had what we call "non-academic students". these are people who hang around universities pretending to be students but their aim is just to give themselves some prestige and to extract more money from their male friends (we called them customers, i think these days they are called aristos) well i'm aware that such nonsense happens in nigerian universities but dont be too sure, not everyone who saya she is a student is actually a student. even the student ID can be fake. there are some harlots claiming to be students . . i tell ya ![]() the poverty is real,(it's no excuse though, i lived through poverty too) and yes, $100.00 can get you laid in nigeria. anyways, most important thing is i'm okay now . had a real good sleep last night (first time since weekend) and i'm wiser today ![]() |

ItsModella: that's right, you just gotta love usimo . . . . the eastern heartland |
I guess I've been naive. ![]() I guess I've been very naive. I had no idea what the dark side of society looks like. I thought this is something new. As per naija, I've almost given up on Nigeria anyways, that's why I'm here. I don't think Nigeria will improve in my lifetime, but somehow I'm convinced Nigeria will improve in about 100-200yrs time(if we grow our democracy). Yes it will improve after all this crisis. But not in this generation. 70% of Nigerian students prostitutes? I'm sure that's an exaggeration. Or perhaps you've redefined the word prostitute. Anyways, thanks for sharing. |
i just felt a lil bit better after reading this your post. i've been seriously disturbed from within, honestly. i've had to talk to some friends today about this mess. anyway thanks for your words. there's not indecency in youtube but in youtube you'll see some videos of people talking about this ghetto gaga thing. it was in youtube someone posted a link to the horrible videos and i followed. i did not know what ghetto ggagger meant until i saw the horrible videos. anyways, i remember my Cardiff University lessons where we were taught over and over again not to believe everything we see or hear. but to test it and question it. well, i was emotionally gutted when i saw those videos so i couldnt question it so i had to ask for help. thanks |
