Borrowed them almost 10K to process their coming. My husband and i told them they could stay with us for a while since its difficult to get apartments from Nigeria. They got a temp job and they paid their fees remaining. We asked when they wanted to get an apartmentafter 3 months, we were given a list of things they want to do before they start looking. Alott happened already,
I cannot wven begin to go into. The job contract ended, so i asked again after another month if they started looking, they said they wanted to get another job first before they start looking. Our thingss were being used and thrown away without asking, our light bill for Dec n Jan was almost 900 pounds. (They asked when theu came what bill they can pay but i told them we already laid the bill for that month and rhey shouldsavw since they just came). My hubs and i are so tired, we don't know what else to do. We dont want to make them uncomfortable but we are getting there, our family friends wanted to come visit to stay since i just gave birth(and they aren't helping at all) but they can't stay because theyre in the room and the other empty one is the nursery. Theres much more they have done but i can't begin to type.
We don't know what to do without looking like bad people or make it seem like we're sending them out.
Any advise will be appreciated.
I'm curious to find out how long did family stay with you guys untill they got their place. Maybe we're being too fast. Lol.
profemebee:
i will love to hear this story.. reminds me of the one we read here last year... he refused to leave... caused wahala within the family..

That's good. Thank you.
The landlord saw them when they came last year he has been asking uswhen they will move. They're not willing to look for a place yet(another story).
Lol
Goodenoch:

Doesn't affect you from a council tax standpoint. The only issue could be with your landlord seeing you have more people than stated living there but their voter registration has nothing to do with that.

I understand how you might be worried, but you don't need to be.

Lol...Thank you!
Just needed to know

Bourne007:
'Register to vote' is basically to allow them vote (which can be updated when they move). You wouldn't pay more if more than two adults are living there.

Fi egbon / aburo si le o make him vote cheesy .. . We need the numbers wink

Hello everyone,
I have a question, my bro and his wife have been with us since they came in September.
I found out they already registered to vote on our address without asking or informing us. They don't pay council tax or rent
I cannot find a way to remove them, will this be an issue for us? Since it's just two people we said are living in the house?.

Thank you.

Thank you very much
justwise:

My wife gave birth few months ago and she got the same letter, I can’t remember the exact wording but I think they are trying to know the immigration status of the parent so as to know if you need to pay for NHS services you used. If you are on student or work visa then you have nothing to worry about. Follow the instructions on that letter.

Hello everyone,
I just have birth 10 days ago. I got a letter to regularize my child's status or the baby won't be able to use the NHS after 3months.
How do I go about this? My current visa will expire next year February. (I already got a sponsorship with the NHS but my letter can. Only be given 3 months to my current visa expiry)
Do I apply for enter clearance or new visa? I don't know. Anyone that has experience with a newborn please

Visa Alert! Visa Alert!! Visa Alert!!!

I give Glory to God.

Application: 17/9/21
Biometric: 21/9/21 Abuja Tls
Moved to VAC: 28/9/21 10:00 am
Collection mail: 28/9/21 12:00 am
Collected: 30/9/21

No non straightforward mail
No interview.
No Brp delay mail.

I declare my family in the uk and stated I will only spend quarantine at their place and gave their residence permit number. The wait no be hear. I think non straight forward mail comes mostly from the bank. I used a uk bank account belonging to my parent and it was very fast. Most of this Nigeria banks don't reply their mail from UKVI I think so. I thank God this time my only sure plug was God.

I remember my passport took 2 months after getting a plug at immigration office she collected express fee for one week. Also transcript took 2 months after greasing palm and all that. I was really frustrated, but was surprised how quick the visa application went. I give thanks to God and pray for anyone waiting May God give divine acceleration to your application.

For those contemplating on VI or Abuja, choose Abuja especially this time if you're in a hurry. Thanks to everyone who answered my questions and everyone who's experience gave me knowledge. Thanks alot justwise and the rest gurus.

Ipswich will be a lot cheaper than North London. Plus having a port closeby and direct train access to London and the East Anglia means access to a variety of jobs too.

Good afternoon everyone, I will like to ask,
please what areas or towns are advisable and affordable to live in, get student jobs and full time for someone studying in university of Hertfordshire, and has one dependant. We were advised Ipswich or North London but I'd like opinions please.

Yes, all of you can go on your spouse's date and time on the 20th, they will allow you to enter, she'll explain to them and inform them who the main applicant is when her appointment time is called. Go with everyone's appointment mail. I did the same. You'll pay 42k though. All the best

Hello House, please I need your help. My spouse was able to book Premium Lounge for Monday 20th Sept, and booked Premium Lounge for our children for Tuesday 21st Sept but I was only able to book for Thursday 23rd Sept and Premium Lounge was not available for me even though I booked first before all of them.

I have logged back in for the last 2 days to see if I can change, Premium Lounge is not even available at all till October. Is it possible that they will allow me in with my wife for walk in when she is going for her own biometrics on Monday?

Please can you tell cheaper cities with low cost of living to live in the UK. Please . thank you

gigi24:

My post is not so we can have a debate.

I am only posting to help those who have plans of coming here to work and pay off tuition.

It’s going to be a very difficult thing to do in York!

There are cheaper cities with low cost of living and housing it’s better they go there so they can see their plans through as York is very expensive.

This is me repeating it again.

If you are on a budget and have plans to pay deposit tuition with the hopes of working to offset balance tuition my brother, my sister York is not the place to come to.

House rent alone will gulp all the money your earn from your 20hours a week!

Traveling abroad is expensive but we can manage it wisely by going to cheaper cities when on a budget.

Don’t argue what you don’t know!

Peace!!!
