Anyway, Nigerians worship money like no man's business, they will come here and praise him. Smh.

I think you already answered this:

You initially queried me on a specific comment with a particular context and you are now widening the net to include a previous comment which was expanded upon later to give its full implication.

Its the subsequent comments that explain what the person meant that should be used for reference and not the introductory statement that has not yet been explored.

A reason is not the same as an excuse or a justification. He did not support polygamy or polygamous marriage; he merely asserted that it is a reality (albeit in his usual brash and irritating manner, which we can be tempted to see as support because he is often deliberately antagonistic and hyperbolic when making a point). It was later on when he expounded his initial statement that I tended to agree with him.

Thereafter came the debate about the Biblical legality of embarking upon polygamous marriages, which as we have both noted is a completely separate discussion.

We dont have to agree on any topical issue but telling me that I supported something when I didnt is not going to fly.
Okay, good luck to you whatever you support. I'm done. Don't have the luxury of time any longer to be reading theses and going back and forth.

But you refuse to acknowledge that a natural polyamorous disposition is not the same as actively pursuing polygamous marriage, which is why you keep conflating the two.

The focus of the conversation is not the Bible's position on polygamous nature but the Biblical perspective on polygamous marriage. Just like the Islamic perspective is that a man is entitled to 4 wives, which you can acknowledge without speculating on whether men feel like doing that or not.

If you read the posts back you will see that their contents are entirely different.
Franchas' posts at the very start focused on stating why polygamy was natural, it was full support for polygamy. This was before the Biblical topic came up (that is not what I am debating here).
In any case, we do not have to agree on this.

Hahaha you think so? Anti-polygamy lawyer cheesy

You keep repeating that theyre in the "same camp" without explaining why. And theres nothing like "essentially" here. Are they in the "same camp" or not?

Its obvious that the two discussions are not connected in any way; you've only chosen to link them because they both include the word "polygamy" when the actual content of those conversations has nothing to do with each other.
No o, full blown all round lawyer! cheesy

Both are justifying/giving reasons why polygamy is normal or natural. The only difference is one is of the POV that it's Biblical /legal (which definitely is not) while the other is not.

RomanceRe: Woman Attacks Lady At Ikeja Mall For Trying To Snatch Her Husband From Her by tot(f):
midnighter:
Stating the truth of the polyamorous nature of men compared with women which is clear and obvious for all of us to see is not necessarily "excusing polygamy". People sometimes do that, but he wasn't.

Asserting that it's "illegal" in Christianity has nothing to do with cloaking or concealment because he was explaining to the moniker who quoted him why men run around cheating but don't marry multiple wives when both of them involve having an extra partner.

One person is expressly stating that polygamy is illegal while the other is arguing that it's legal. So they cannot be the same.
You should be a lawyer midnighter if you are not already one!
To me, they both essentially are in the same camp.

If you read what Franchas said, he stated that men are naturally polygamous AND it's the grace of God that they use to overcome it BECAUSE polygamy is illegal on Christianity. Correct!

If you read what this guy I'm talking to is saying, he stated that men are naturally polygamous AND there's nothing wrong with pursuing polygamous marriage BECAUSE polygamy is Biblical.

And if you read further, you will see that he is utterly unable to defend that position, because it's arrant nonsense smiley

We know that it's natural but we differ on what should be done about it.
Haha smiley @ arrant nonsense

Franchas' comments were focused on giving numerous excuses for polygamy, so I see both guys' viewpoints as one and the same; one just appeared to be cloaking it by saying it is not 'legal'.

My comment refutes the idea that Christianity legalises polygamy and so does Franchas'.

Whether a man is naturally polygamous is besides the point of that comment you quoted.
Franchas comment you quoted and agreed with was he stating polygamy is natural, which implied it's okay but as you've stated there seem to be 2 different topics that were intertwined.

Anyway, at the end of the day we all make our choices.

I didnt say God said it was not a good idea. I said that God has illustrated why it is not to be done with levity. When Solomon, Abraham and David married their extra wives, what now happened?

Just because it is culturally allowed or is "acceptable", it doesnt mean it is to be encouraged.

Cultural allowances were also made for slavery; does it make it acceptablehuh

See, when an evil is taking place that is very entrenched in society, is it realistic to ban it completely or to put parameters in place to protect people as much as possible until your main purpose has been achieved?

Stop talking out of point to justify something that is not defensible. If you want to be polygamous then be it and stop trying to drag God into it to console yourself.

God did not construct the institution of marriage for polygamous purposes, deal with it! He only let people do that in the context of their social systems but always points back to His original plans for a man and woman in marriage.
But I thought you were in support of franchas' comments..

UNEMPLOYMENT- Nigerians want to get jobs so that they will earn money.

NoToPile:
But what of honest customers who just want good quality and take the carpenters there to choose the best so just pay on the spot and load into the vehicles but they still collide with the sellers to rip of the customer.

It happened to my mum once. This man was the trusted carpenter, handled all the carpentry work of the house from foundation down to roofing, whatever he recommended as good was what she bought, she just pays the seller.

So it got to the doors level as usual they went to pako together and he stated the one that was okay, price was haggle they all negotiated together and they agreed on a particular amount and she paid, and the doors was loaded about 20 doors or more.

The next day, she now remembered she wanted to buy a key for the house she's presently staying( she stayed with one of my cousins living in the area the project was) she bought the keyset and then just out of curiosity prices the same door from the same seller and low and behold the asking price for each door was about 3- 4000 naira lower than the amount they bought the guy didn't recognize her she now introduced herself the guy was shocked to the marrow then the elders there were now like that's what we always warn them about blabla.

She just called the carpenter and told him thank you for purchasing at xyz price loool. This was like 8 years ago. Meanwhile my cousin that introduced him to mum told her that she shouldn't use him again because he had changed that she noticed it when she recommended him for another roofing project around but because he roofed her place 2 years before that she still trusted him so she withdrew him from the job and future contracts.

This is someone that because he does a good job he charges slightly higher than others but peeps still don't mind. He lost his customers in that area.

The point still is at the end of the day, nature still has a way of collecting it back. Few months later he fell from scaffolding and broke his legs, that was the beginning of his problems he never recovered since then and the said house has been completed since.

Personally I would never take any artisan to buy anything, lots of them are rogues.

Sometimes, the price you pay for pursuing cheap things is greater than what you pay to get things at their normal prices.

I'd rather buy a shirt for 7k that has good quality than buy an inferior one that goes for 1.5k. The reason is that the one that goes for 1.5k may not last more than two months.
As the saying goes: buy cheap, buy twice.

Uhmmm Okafor law is so real to some extent or let me say 90%.

Let me tell you all a story.

Before I traveled, I use to have a very good friend. This babe was so beautiful and a girl with the brain as in very intelligent. Every man wanted her especially married men. She met a married man whose marriage had nosedived. This man was separated and everyone knew he was separated. Las las, she started dating this married man. I call him married man because he was not legally divorced or was in process but as at then, he was separated from his wife. This man and his separated wife lived apart in different states.
The man showered my friend with love and care. They were the talk of the town and won best couple award. Every one wanted these two new love birds together except for this my friend family who objected to their relationship because they didn't want their daughter to marry a second hand man. These two were so in love that they listened to nobody. They went places together, traveled out of the country together, built house together etc.
Now my friend got pregnant after about 3 years of being together and just when her family thought they should get married since there's a child between them already, my friend started acting strange. She objected to the idea of them getting married. Everyone wondered why, after all that's what they have always wanted.
Then she opened up to we her friends and families that the man former wife has a son who is few month older than her child for this same man.
We were shocked!!!
So all these while that this man has been going to see his 2 kids in the name of I don't want these children to suffer, he has been having unprotected sexual affair with his separated wife.
With all the "God delivered me from a wicked and evil wife", yet he was having sexual intercourse with the evil woman.
His separated wife took in and gave birth to a boy though he had a son before.
What shocks us most is that each time this man kids calls him, this man will always ask of this baby boy and one day, my friend asked him 'who is this boy that you always ask of?' This man said it was his nephew son not knowing that it was his own son flesh and blood. He was so perfect that he never kept any of this boy pictures on his phone except for the other two kids.
She got to know through his sister. His sister exposed his brother to her. The sister was like she can't be part of the game. My friend did her findings and found out it was true. She confronted this man and he confessed though apologized but my friend cancelled the wedding and left to abroad with her child. For 10 years, this man haven't set his eyes on the child...

What I want to bring out here is that, Children brings parents together and it takes the grace of God for them to be sexually disciplined not to allow Okafors Law.
Baby Daddy and Mama drama isn't an easy one. If you can't stand the heat, don't go in there. It comes with lots of emotional pains and fear of the unknown. It can even lead to high BP for any of the party involved especially for the women. It even makes the women become monsters when they can no longer handle it, they go into voodoo...
Like the case of Sophia and Davido and the other women, you can't separate the father from the children. You can't take the love of the children away from their father except with the help of voodoo. Those comparing wizkid bla bla bla, Put Shola, wizkid and Bolu in the same house for some days then come back to tell us what happened...
When these separated parents visits their kids, they tend to develop some old time feelings even when they know that it's impossible for them to be together again but they don't mind releasing that moment feelings into one another thereby resulting into sex then you begin to hear one thing led to another then I missed my period story.
That's why I hate Divorce/Separation, it comes with a whole lot of mess and pains...
Some women even now see it as a way to pepper the new lady in the picture.

May God help everyone caught in this messy web...
Na wa ooo, did you actually type all this?

You don't seem to get the prophet's logic. The guy would only die soon if he married the lady who is now your brother's wife.

BTW, I don't believe in anybody telling me about the future. It's a major sin seeking to know what the future holds. The knowledge of the future belongs to God alone.
Only if you are seeking such from external parties like spiritualists, mystics etc. God reveals the future to His children so it's not a sin seeking to know as long as it's from Him.
