Phones / Re: Is The New $600 iPhone Really Worth Investing In? by ToToChoper: 9:42pm On Jul 03, 2007
Cabali, cabali, hmmm u sure say nah our Lagos you dey waka aroud with phone wey cost over $1000.  grin grin grin

Anyway, I’m pretty sure Apple’s marketing crew would take into consideration in Europe, Asia and Africa- introducing a high end 2.5G phone in markets heavily dominated by 3G and even 3.5G technology wouldn't even come close to competition.
Now, would it sell? Frankly, i would (just as it did in the States) only because the phone has been long awaited.
But I tell you sales will definitely drop on finding out its not 3G while everyone else is.
Think about it, you cannot receive video calls without 3G - you cannot access the net faster without 3G. It’s got WIFI but WIFI cannot work in your car and WIFI wouldn’t work about 100feet away from places with WIFI ports (e.g certain airports, homes, hotels and coffee shops).

I say wait, they have a version 2 coming out and let's just hope it's better.
Politics / Re: North Lobbies Yar’adua Over Bamaiyi, Al-mustapha by ToToChoper: 5:33pm On Jul 02, 2007
If Yaradua is really for Nigeria, then he should see that justice really be served.

These were Abacha's hitmen and the penalty for murder of one person is 20years to life imprisonment.

Think of how many lives they wasted.

They ought to receive the same fate meted on Ken Saro Wiwa by Abacha- death by hanging.
Politics / Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by ToToChoper: 2:30am On Jul 01, 2007
The idea of turning a blind eye to political degenerates like IBB is not only misleading but built on flawed assumptions it is futile. This is in a sense moral degeneracy at its best, but let us do what is morally right and remain firm in our convictions.

Im don chop belleful, now he wan repent- just like all of dem dey repent.
Politics / Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by ToToChoper: 1:21am On Jul 01, 2007
First off, I do not hate IBB or his outlines but I simply hate the forces of power-control, of greed and of corruption in our country. To me this has been the continual culprit to our setback in every aspect of development. I understand your questions very well @denex but unwittingly my brother why deliberately make known your back-seated attitude towards ”doing something” about it?
On this regard of IBB, we all know a lot of hands are tainted, nationally and internationally- thus the only reason why he is IMMUNE. Also the reason you see wannabe -IBBs paying homage to him at his Minna mansion.
But I say we need not be weary in this struggle folks, we need not lose focus. What goes around must definitely come around and we have to be steadfast in this commitment.
I myself like many Nigerians am tired of the soap opera play out administration after administration. So I have taken a bold step in my own way in effecting a change, but to reveal it here for the likes of IBB would only pertuate this virus.
Nigeria is over forty years old my friend and for the most part we have been exporting crude oil to foreign countries, yet with our oil money, federal roads are looking like crap, communities lack basic amenities like tap water while at the same time our Legislooters travel abroad to receive medical care that could be treated at home.
Have you ever bothered to ask yourself why our people are sleeping at the foreign embassies in desperate attempts to get visas to leave the country?- because they also are TIRED OF THE CORRUPTION.

Not to veer off on a tangent, bottomline we need not run or be weary in this struggle. We need not lose sight. I have said my peace.
Politics / Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by ToToChoper: 9:54pm On Jun 30, 2007
If I talk, una go say I don begin but to say I am highly disappointed with the way this IBB issue was quickly contained would be an understatement. This we know is the reason why we cannot move ahead on this corruption stigma that follows us- having knowledge of the canker sore in our leadership system (we actually know the thieves) but slowly dragging our feet to effecting due justice – Why? e get money, we dey fear, but nah who make am( or dem) billionaire(s), nah we make am, our money.

Money laundering no be garri, it is a federal crime and to ask why IBB should be spared jail time is same as asking why terrorizing armed robbers shouldn’t be killed by the firing squad when the proof is in the pudding.

So we perpertuate this unnecessary evil because to provide a cure or prognosis to it is time-consuming, and what becomes consequent LAWLESSNESS.

Pls. if u want to play with yourself, go do it, and not on our intelligence and of Nigerians at large. I’m even not a bit surprised at your striking similarities with the aforementioned, you know who u are.

United we must be are on the fight against corruption on every level. Call all of em to order, make dem come yarn us for court room how dem take divide our money among themselves. Thieves in uniform, thieves in agbada, thieves as leaders and you wonder why our image across the world as fellow nigerians is synonymous with mago magoism- when the head isn't right? Left to me they should be publicly disgraced- the same way they seek for office PUBLICLY.
I certainly hope this thread doesn’t take after the late Dele Giwa and die an untimely death.
Sound off dblock and let all be conscious.

These chaffs as leaders without a modicum of truth MUST FACE JUSTICE.

my brother , nah school boy me I be oh…….i just dey ask Lecturer question.

Oya,, which size u like nah, or u wan surgery? wink

Anyway, in light of keeping my response as unobscene and simple as possible I’ld say this. Because I; the one and only ToTochoper of nairaland, is from the southern part of this our country, I do find myself going home to pay a visit (the south) more often than not regarding this issue of lips. And when alone with my woman sometimes, I just feel like a kid in a candy store - Lips, just right, BIG AND VERY JUICY.
I slowly peel em back, wink at it, tease em a little, before planting a big kiss on it, MUUUUUUAAAAAAAHHHHHHH.

Now how u love them apples?
Politics / Re: Calabar: Missplaced Project by ToToChoper: 4:58am On Jun 27, 2007
Hoping Tinapa doesn't eventually end up like Festac few years from now, a failed and deplorable project.
Politics / Re: Calabar: Missplaced Project by ToToChoper: 10:02pm On Jun 25, 2007
To speak impartially, it’s called politics @Militia….that’s all and I will commend you for taking another approach to Tinapa despite your personal joust. Why so?

That is what politicians do. You see, this project, in the history of Cross River state will go down as what Duke has done for his people - to a great extent, boosted commerce- adds to his political portfolio, he steps up another rung.
But think about it, do you think much attention would have been given if all the pot holes in CR state were filled or do you think this will even attract foreign investors- to invest in fixing our own roads?
The answer is clear my dear.

While I do not in entirety ascribe to the thought that the project is misplaced, its laudation by a few greedy investors is enough to reflect on the debasement of our thought process- that progress and development in a community depend precisely on this kind of interchange- the act of attracting moneyed bees to a beehive.
Let’s not forget folks TINAPA IS NOT FOR THE COMMON CROSSRIVERIAN.

We still don’t get it, do we…, kpele!
But for how long would we continue to fool and deceive ourselves?
Indeed we now live in an age where thieving ex-officials toss whatever bounty they thinks suits us in exchange for their freedom and their license to continue to steal.

How pathetic, yet we want to eschew corruption?

Tell me why Yaradua would attempt to handicap a Commission entrusted to annihilate crime (which includes jobbery by public officials) in our country by choosing to dance to the tunes of these bold kleptos.

These are our monies folks -  meant to build good roads, build schools for the people, develop their states- our national treasure, not theirs , yet we're making deals with them to forfiet our money. Kai, !!!

I say PROSECUTE PROSECUTE PROSECUTE, the evidences are convincing and if not can be derived beyond a reasonable doubt. (Fleeing the country should be a dead give away).
These crooks in our governement should serve jail time, and this would send the message to practising crooks, now in office.

If u lock them up, wipe all their nyash every morning for breakfast, truth go come out and money go begin apear from everywhere, even the ones way don declare.
Culture / A Typical Nigerian by ToToChoper: 3:38pm On Jun 21, 2007
With conviction in my heart and as well as most of us here, it is a settled matter that we are Nigerians.
However the question is, what determines this distinctiveness - what makes you a typical Nigerian?

I have found myself musing on the ideal meaning of this.

Is it simply the identity by birth, the reasoning, the language, the political ideology, the culture –tribal marks, food, etc?

Quite certainly, there is one common denominator that distinguishes us from other people.

Enlighten us with your views,

Travel / Re: Traffic Issues In Lagos. What Can Be Done? by ToToChoper: 10:28pm On Jun 19, 2007
Reorientation- good point @oIo.

Another point to ponder on.
When we speak of traffic stagnancy in Lagos, I immediately begin to think of the significant commercial areas first - places like Marina, Idumota, Tinubu, etc and its surrounding environs before moving into areas like Ikoyi and Victoria Island – where we see some major businesses headquartered.
Before any project (subway/metro system) is being physically implemented we need to learn to work what we have first- we need to improve our maintenance culture.
I mean how can we think of managing an underground roadway system when we cannot even fix the pre-existing eyesores above the ground like pot holes, clogged drains/sewers, damaged traffic lights, refuse on bus stops, ubiquitous hawkers, beggars and miscreants.
It would be quite thoughtful to reduce the congestion in Lagos by devising solutions to this issues first before carrying onto any other project.
Politics / Re: Ehindero’s Passport Seized by ToToChoper: 8:05pm On Jun 16, 2007
The Law don talk am……haha!

Anyway, my frank approach to this issue.

Notice how we love to shun corruption virtually. We seem to spew it out and often get in heated debates here about it, but when it pertains to someone linked to us (example Ehindero, IBB) we mount sheer bravado and get defensive. This is the reason why we are the ones damaging our own image thus impeding procurement of any panacea to Nigeria’s political demise.
Interpretation of the law should never be based on respect of person(s). And a criminial in agbada should not be treated any different from those at night with big guns. The law should be the law.

Very soon you will realize that BIG B1 is not just a name; it is much bigger than that.

I wish you and your folks best of luck, but please take a vacation from this forum.

How could any forumer in his or her right senses allow such meaningless absurdity to even cross his or her mind? Abi na you be administrator ?

I do commend this ingenuity. Excellent concept and i guess to decrease the risk of being electrocuted one has to use a longer copper and vinyl tubing,,  with the water bucket outside rather than next to one's dresser in the bedroom. Above all, my hat's of.

MY VIEWS (CALL ME JUDGING A BOOK BY THE COVER IF YOU LIKE, BUT ) IF A LADY HAS HER TONGUE PIERCED SHE’S VERY SUGGESTIVE THAT SHE CAN GIVE SOME GOOD HEAD, OR SHE SABI CHOP BLOCOS.

ON THE OTHER HAND, IF HER TOTO IS PIERCED, THIS IS INDEED FAR FROM A FASHION STATEMENT MY BROTHER…. cool MORE OF AN OVERSTATEMENT THAT SHE EMPHATICALLY DESIRES ORAL PLEASURE THROUGH COITUS CHOPPERY OR OBO EATERY. DON'T FALL FOR IT IF THIS ISN'T YOUR AREA PLS.

NOW EYELID PERCINGS, DEPENDS ON THE BEHOLDER… “TOO GIRLY, IF YOU ASK ME” (SOMETIMES IT MIGHT MEAN , YOU HAVE A TASTE FOR WOMAN AND WOMAN ACTION).

BUT THESE ARE JUST MY OPINION,, DON'T SHOOT.

Health / Re: How To Straighten Bent Back / Shoulder by ToToChoper: 11:37pm On Jun 02, 2007
You could try exercises that strengthen the hamstring muscles. Look up information on Kyphosis. Most common symptoms in inclusion to a curvature of the upper spine also include difference in shoulder height.

The use of a good back brace (eg TLSO), sleeping on the ground/mat on the side with a pillow between the legs and a non-steroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID) like Naproxen and Indocin could suffice for palliative treatment.

Wouldn't suggest surgery, unless in intolerable pain!!!

Take care.
Politics / Re: Was Colonialism Good For Africa? by ToToChoper: 6:28pm On Jun 02, 2007
Me I wan talk my own;
Our main problems in Nigeria today has less to do with our Colonial masters but more to do with us (we ourselves and our leaders).
Of the 3 greatest problems in Nigerian history:1) Corruption. 2) Incompetence (governments). 3) Wars and Disease.

NONE of these problems were caused MOSTLY by our Colonial masters, but by us; we Nigerians.
We need not focus on another man’s country and what he did/didn’t do for us in the past but on how we can improve our own country.
She is my primary concern, it should be yours.
Adverts / Re: Info On How To Open A Usa Bank Acount From Nigeria by ToToChoper: 2:19am On Jun 02, 2007
NAIJA bobos,

Sound off EFCC OOO grin grin grin. Dem wan roll person head here!!!

Listen y'all. To open an online account in the US, one will need some form of identification which quite a number of Nigerians don't have such as a USA Driver's license number, Social security number (SSN) or if you are a green card holder (also known as Resident Alien) without these forms of ID, some banks will allow your Alien registration number to suffice.

Reason being, these accounts are FDIC insured, meaning if you lose money fradulently online e.g for some odd reason $10,000 got transfered out of your checking account without your authorization, you can alert your bank who will investigate the matter and compensate you for your loss after an official police report is filed on record. Most bank accounts in the US are $100,000 FDIC insured.
Now, if a bank is willing to provide that kind of service to you as an online customer, provide interest on your money, loans to you, finance your mortgage or business, the least they need to know is WHO YOU ARE in their country or HOW TO TRACK YOU DOWN especially if you're a fraud like kelvin22, ProfitMax and smartmoney.

them go chop your dollar o!

Definitely high cost, I read in WSJ (Wall Street Journal) some months ago that Wind Energy has had even more breakthrough than SOLAR powered energy.
Scientist are constantly working on ways to create other alternatives to crude oil.
Health / Re: Is Being Gay Bad? by ToToChoper: 10:26pm On Jun 01, 2007
Let’s try and maintain an open mind, at least this individual is bold to share the skeleton in his closet with us.
And who are we to tell any adult what sexual act he or she may act upon?
Let me share a personal story.

I was visiting an old friend in the Isolo area about 2yrs ago, and as we were talking and just shooting the shit, he took off after a guy in the street. Dumbfounded, and not knowing what to do, I just waited. When he came back, I asked what that was all about. He replied that the guy he was chasing was a homosexual and that he would be the one to kill him in that area.

I laughed oh, plus teased him a little. grin grin

Apparently, the homosexual guy has been beaten up whenever he showed up in that area.

Nigeria! I have no doubt in my mind that wherever the wheels of traditional culture is turning and that of foreign culture(desperately trying to hide behind a mask of being civilized) oneday these will face us squarely in time and then we will begin to understand ourselves even better and recover our sense of peopleness.
Politics / Re: What Has Pdp Abuja Government Done For The Yorubas? by ToToChoper: 8:18pm On Jun 01, 2007
Common now, what is all the vituperation about?
The thread is wrapped in ethnic bias, and as Nigerians we should not indulge in discussing from ethnic difference because it’s impossible to solve a problem from such position.

The question should be what have our leaders done to improve us NIGERIAN CITIZENS since independence, not Yorubas, Hausas, Igbos, etc bearing in mind we have Yorubas in the north, east and south which is predominantly inhabited by other ethnic tribes.
