Abbey2sam: This is business, if BON is buying the right for NTA which will in turn sell the right to local TV stations, they are all buying the right to generate income by advising for companies mostly telecoms, but if orange which is another africa telecom is hosting the AFCON itself, just like maku said, other telecoms will not show much interest which means BON might not even make the money they pay for the broadcasting right, becuz the local TV station too might not show any interest, from what I understand, nigeria broadcasting right fee is higher.

I watch the match on super sport and I've not seen MTN,GLO or etisalat advert on the screen you understand how the business works.

Nigerians will watch AFCON with or without broadcasting right....

Maybe they will learn a lesson from this, becuz by the time nigeria is not taken part in the broadcasting, they will sure loose millions of euro
Must everything be about making money and making profits? So they can't just sacrifice 4.5 million euros for us without looking for profits and adverts?

Oh my God!
SportsRe: The Price For Live Transmission Of AFCON Was High - Maku by touchmehard: 5:01pm On Jan 22, 2013
“All efforts made by BON through the agent LC2 did not work. From eight million euros, they came to six million then 4.5 million Euro; so you can see that it is not a scientific charge, it is a kind of casino pricing.
[size=14pt] So only 4.5 million Euro is what Nigeria cannot pay for the citizens to watch their own country's match? What a shame!

Is Labaran Maku going to tell me that he does not have more than that amount in his bank account? Jeeez! sad

Fighting Dirty? Don’t Dare Me Or I’ll Tell The World Where Your Mansions Are Located – Amaechi To Orubebe

The purported rift between Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi and Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, Godsdey Orubebe, might just be to the benefit of Nigerians as the former has threatened to expose ‘mansions’ owned by the minister.

Mr. Amaechi made his threat known while clearing the air on his rumoured presidential ambition and blamed Elder Orubebe for fanning the embers of hatred.

He said: “I cannot contest against Mr. President.

“We are from the same region. I respect him, and he is a good man. I am tired of responding to this issue of presidential ambition. It is normal to have contrary views on some topics but it doesn’t transcend to hatred.

“It is the likes of Orubebe that fans the embers of hatred. It is unfortunate that he can accuse me of corruption, nobody has accused me before.

“If Orubebe wants us to go public any day, I am ready. I often tell them that the problem with me is that I am not an old man.

“I am equal to the task of confronting anybody who confronts me on issues that are mundane. “I advise him again to face his work, and make his presence felt in the region.

“After all, I don’t have any mansion anywhere, but I know Orubebe’s mansion. If he wants, we will show the world his mansions” he threatened.

I pray that they succeed in their mission, destroy all bokkoharam training grounds and successfully bring back Abubakar Shekau for trial.
I pray for their safety and preservation of their lives there in Mali. Though it may be hard to achieve, but I sincerely pray that none of them dies, especially that lady.

CrimeSugarcane Seller Stabs Customer To Death In Benue State by touchmehard(op): 10:45am On Jan 17, 2013
A sugarcane seller is presently on the run, for stabbing his 19-year-old customer, Umaru Abdulrahaman, to death on Wednesday morning in Wadata, Markudi town, Benue state.

Local media reported that the teenage customer, a resident of 20 Kano street, Wadata, was repeatedly stabbed in the chest by the sugarcane seller over monetary argument.

We reliably gathered that the argument began after the boy purchased a stick of sugarcane.

Eyewitnesses disclosed that “They were actually arguing over the balance that was suppose to be given to the murdered young man. All we heard was a sudden loud scream and the young man fell to the ground.”

By the time residents rushed to the scene, the young man was already dead.

“Blood was already gushing from his chest and we discovered that the young man was dead cold” a resident disclosed.

On realizing the depth of his action, the sugarcane seller immediately fled the scene of the incident.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Benue State Governor on Public Utilities, Mr. Gadaffi Asemanya, who visited the scene said

“Youth of the various sects had mobilized themselves and were about to unleash mayhem in the town when I arrived in the area. I had to plead with them and calmed them down before the arrival of security personnel.”

On confirming the incident, Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, Daniel Ezeala noted that the police was on the look out for the culprit.

In my opinion, I would have thought that the compensation processes should have been completed before the airline is allowed to resume flight operations.
Be that as it may, the Insurers really need to speed up the completion of the remaining compensations. This would help the families grieve less, instead of the come today-come tomorrow thing which maks the grief and pain linger.
