When i had cough, catarrh and stuffy nose, hospital gave cough syrup for the cough which also helped with the cold, and i did steam inhalation for the stuffy nose, but in this hot weather that steam inhalation no go funny oo, pele mama just try taking a lotttttt of water to flush your system.

how is it going, the back and waist pain is becoming terrible o, sometimes I can't sit nor stand, went out yesterday and I almost burst into tears while coming, I am officially tired, it seems it's getting worse day by day

Pele teamie, have you complained to your Dr? i actually don't experience terrible back ache like that what i experience is just jajaina ache, heaviness and hooking when i sit for long, maybe you should try getting pregnancy/bump support belt to help relieve the ache/ pain, and give your back support also, nndo we are almost at the finish line.

Are you taking any calcium supplements? i don't know why i believe so much in this calcium supplements (Osteocare) but it has helped me alot, when i feel aches and even muscle pull i use it and i feel better, also try and use your prenatal supplements religiously if you aren't

Please, how reliable is gender scan and what is the probability of the accuracy? If we wait till, let's say, 7 months and perform another gender scan, is it possible that the same scan will reveal a boy?

Gender scans are mostly accurate, but for you to be sure, you should take another one probably in a different center just to be sure, and if baby closes leg and doesn't cooperate just buy gender neutral clothing/items for now until delivery, but i will say try taking another scan now so you can start buying stuff gradually.

I had my gender scan at 21weeks, and i have taken 2 other scans afterwards, all 3 gave same sex

For anyone wondering about the stitchless stitches for CS, it's true. Good hospitals in Nigeria do it now and it's so neat you will almost not be able to tell that a CS was carried out. That's what I got with this second CS and I didn't even know about it until I checked the incision site and was wondering why there was no stitch line.
In fact, the doc even covered the first CS stitch line I had with my second baby that was not looking nice.

Abeg, technology good mbok. Ask questions and if the hospital has it, take the opportunity if you're opting for CS.

for the first CS line you had, they usually take out the scar from the previous incision, as in they cut it out totally, that was what the Dr's in my private hospital and even in GH explained when i asked how previous scar will be managed or if they will make a new incision, so probably why you didn't see the previous scar anymore.

But technology and improvements are good mbok like you talk am

lol... Der is no way dey wont sew d flesh... Its either d surgeon is a good tailor or dey use scar removal 4 their patience.... Scar removal is wat plastic surgeons use to remove scar after operatns

there are new improved ways of closing up incision sites that don't require stitches, read up on surgical staples and surgical glues.

With all these stories from general hospital, why do people still say they are better than private? I really dont get it. She even said she was screaming while being stiched. Does it mean they dont numb the area before stitch. I cant be reading all these weird things abd still carry myself to general hospital.....from stress of registration due to crowd to spending the whole day for antenatal to delivery stress. Not to talk of if theres an emergency. Except maybe for the cost

i wonder too ooo, but a group i belong too most of the mums there used GH and they all commented that their complications were managed well, which is making me consider GH, not that one prays for complication but just to know in case anything happens one is in good hands.

I use Luth and funny enough the most stressful part is just the 1st day of registration ANC is not bad at all just that if your folder is selected for review by the student Dr's you go tey there no be small, plus the nurses are polite to my surprise but i was discouraged by their wards as in the condition is nothing to write home about, though they said their main block is under renovation so they just have a make-shift ward but still i am not comfortable with it at all

Hmm it is well and everyone around me is advocating for GH, i am not just interested because of their plenty restrictions, rules and wahala, for instance you must donate blood while in private this is not mandatory, plus DH cannot enter some wards and even delivery room, some GH are not in the best shape, their restroom is terrible and nothing to write home about then some nurses are just not it in terms of attitude and character but everyone commends their experienced hands and availability of equipment.

During my last ANC i visited the labour ward of a GH and it was an apology, but i was told that's where they keep preterm mothers/issues, i am praying their ward for full term delivery is better, i will check it out at my next ANC

Abeg what can be done to swollen legs, my legs just started to dey swell and I do use pillow to support leg from day 1 plus do wear slippers from day 1 of pregnancy because I don't want the swollen leg.

Secondly, my legs do pain if I wake up attyms and to stand up ll become a problem, seems na pajapaja(in Yoruba). Wat can b done to dis too pls. Is dere any anytyn am eating datz causing all dis ejorrr

Hello Sis, if you can get compression socks pls do, otherwise try and keep your feet/legs elevated at all times as much as you can reduce salty food and salt intake generally, i notice when i wear tight shoes like snickers it reduces swelling in my feet and make sure you complain to your Dr, medical term for it is edema.

what you can do is google labs around you and call them for their prices before going that way you know the one with cheapest amount, highest i have done scan is 4k but price range is between 2k - 5k, most common i have come across is 3k - 3k5

I use only pregnacare, will ask my Dr tomorrow if I should add calcium to it cos this body pain at night no be play play and all the pillows in the house didn't change anything today.
Kaii, seeing my husband sleep so peaceful was the most annoying thing he would wake up at intervals and say sorry dear, do you need anything for my mind I will say, nah u need something, and nah slap for sleeping so peacefully while am suffering here

same here o, sometimes the sorry sef can be annoying cos it can't do anything, but i know he feels for me the way he looks at me like he if could he would help carry the belle small.

Having a good sleep at night now adays nah war. Pain at my lower back, my buttocks, down to d back of the leg always wakes me up.
Sleeping on the side isn't my thing atall, so am guessing that's the cause because it's really hard for me. Not sure I slept upto 2hours lastnight

Pele darling mama, that is part of Preggy wahala, try supporting yourself with a lot of pillows and find a comfy position, also put small throw pillow between your knees, nothing to big oo, it will help with hip and sometimes back pain as well

ask your dr about calcium tabs also, cos i noticed when i am low on it, i get to have leg strain/pain while sleeping and even muscle pull sef.

Pele, embrace the journey to motherhood, i always beef dh when he sleeps peacefully beside me and me i have to do vigilante, and also strategize on how to turn/change position from one side to the other

I've been having show since Sunday. Last VE says I'm 2cm dilated. I have done squats( greatest mistake in recent time), danced small....no labor progress. I dont have that Yoga ball(the 'ijebu' trait and laziness to be blamed here).
Cant take a walk lest i fall.
Is there any other thing i can do? I've been sooo down..I'm 39weeks gone today.

Thank God mamas mentioned breast pump mata, I was thinking of buying manual b4. Pls is it because of d stress of pumping or it doesn't work as electric ones.

For the manual /electric brezz pump matter, let's look at these examples,
blowing lots of balloons by mouth VS blowing all the balloons by electric pump,
OR
Blowing up a whole ram by mouth VS letting vulganizer pump air into the ram,
OR
Blowing up a tire with manual pump VS letting vulganizer pump air into the ram,
OR
Travelling by road to Abuja VS taking a flight
OR
Counting million notes by hand VS using a counting machine

Bottom line is manual breast pump works oo, but the stress ehn, you will achieve more in same or lesser time with less stress/effort when you use electric pump. My sis had carpal tunnel syndrome when she had her baby and she was using manual pump, imagine the horror.

Anyways you gerit, if you don't gerrit, forget about it
