Teamin, they check BP, urine for protein , weight, heart beat and if the scan is not recent, you will do another one. Also we do lecture every two week which is the antenatal day. I go mostly because of lectures sha as a 1tm. Also I have never heard of anti malaria drug. If you don't have malaria symptoms, will you be given the injection. Is it the same as Tt injection?

if you are in Nigeria, ask your Dr about the routine malaria preventive drug. It is in tablet form routinely given 1ce in 4 weeks mostly starting between 16weeks - 18weeks or even at 20weeks but definitely after you start having quickening, it is to prevent malaria in pregnancy, i use both govt and private hospital and they both take it very seriously.

it is not same as TT vaccine

They should atleast check urine, blood is not easy and not necessary at every anc visit but at least urine should be checked. Most time urine and blood pressure will indicate if there is any issue. if both urine and blood pressure are off (though most times this will be accompanied by some symptoms) then the Dr may request additional tests

I've been wanting to ask questions about that electric pump? I've read good reviews about it but I use to think weird abt it like "make e no dey shock person"

I used to wonder too, but no you are not connected to the machine/device in anyway, it is simply the rubber hose that suctions/vaccums that is connected to the device on one end, then the other end is connected to the top of the bottle which carries the suction force to the boobs. The device is then plugged to power so you have no contact with the electricity at all.

Is it okay to miss antenatal appointments especially when one doesn't have complaints?

I wont advise you skip ANC appointments, especially if it is 1ce in 4 weeks, somethings get to be picked up during routine checks that may not even have bothering symptoms, LBP, HBP, protein in urine, anemia etc, just go let them certify you okay better to be safe than sorry.

Cappo i dey tell you seriously a big NO, it could actually serve as backup when there is no electricity especially if the electric pump doesn't have battery option but not the sole pump option for expressing

Sometimes it's part of pregnancy package due to hormones that causes your muscles to relax to accommodate all the stretching your body is going through and also increased blood level in your body but do to ease the discomfort, you can also increase your calcium intake see if it will help

Breast pump has been frustrating itself,I ordered a single manual pump thinking,the one I had was faulty buy now I know that pumping milk is not as easy as I thought. I never had any reason to do this in my previous pregnancies cos I wasn't working but now that am in school,I have to. I have resumed because I have exams in few weeks time and I wish to breastfeed my DH exclusively like her brothers but it's not looking achievable as what I pump is not much.
Pls any help or I should buy formula? If only I can do 3 months exclusive for her. I leave her with my mum while I go to school.

My sister just get electric pump and save yourself this stress, ma'm Zaynie sells affordable double pump electric and effective one, I got from her and tested it, and now seriously looking forward to using

Thanks... Last CS is about 19 to 20 months. Any thing to avoid eating at this point cos I think I should just be less than 2weeks gone.

Anyways for what to eat, reduce your salt intake if possible avoid it all through, avoid processed/fast food and eat healthy lots of veggies and fruits, no coffee, tea and caffeinated drinks

You should be atleast 4weeks gone from last menstrual period not 2 weeks gone, you should see your Dr asap also so you can be closely monitored

God is the giver of all good gifts and the baby will carried in good health, sicknesses and diseases in pregnancy have no place in ur body in Jesus Name, divine health strength and vigor is yours all through your pregnancy by God's grace

Congratulations Sis, There is nothing to be worried about sis, just relax your mind, you and baby will be fine

how long ago did you have the last/previous CS? as far as i know if it is below 18months interval between last cs and next conception, most Dr's will opt for cs for delivery according to them to avoid uterine rupture, but from 18months and above you maybe considered for a VBAC (vagin.l birth after CS).

for the preeclampsia, i would advise you start working towards prevention this time around as there is a risk of having it occur in subsequent pregnancies ( not your portion again in Jesus Name), but work closely with your Dr.

oh i see, it solely depends on your Dr then, but this will be very tight o, cos it means you have just one week to travel to naija, have egg retrieval and embryo transfer, then travel back almost immediately after transfer everything within the space of one week , omo it will be tedious o, hmm think through it wella, don't want to discourage you but realistic option maybe to wait until you are able to take time off work to face it squarely

We don't pray for issues during any cycle, but it would be best you plan for other contingencies too, and to still answer your initial question looking at circumstances surrounding your enquiry, your Dr is the only one that can decide if he can work with follicular tracking from another centre.

Hello beloved mamas, please i have this question Pertaining ivf procedure, the 2 weeks before egg retrieval. ..have anyone taken the medications for follicle stimulation at home(self administration) and then be sending the ultrasound scan to the doctor each day, and then go back few days before the retrieval,
N.B..the doctor i have consulted with said he does not allow that, am asking if anyone have tried it and name of the hospital please...i just started work and wont be permitted for 2 weeks or more absence...

for 2 weeks stims period, all medication was given to me to administer at home by myself, but i went to Dr's office for him to perform all the scans.

hmm, my advise will be to postpone your cycle till when you will be able to take excuse from work if your Dr is not in same location as you, also check the company policy on getting pregnant and maternity leave during the 1st year of service, as most companies will have you complete 12 months of continuous service before you are entitled to any type of leave except for sick leave that you will need to provide a Dr's report.

if u have never cycled before and this is your 1st ivf cycle, i would advise you seriously prepare and plan for it, cos it is a physically and mentally demanding process, however if your clinic is in same location as you are and you don't need to travel too far, you can let your manager or supervisor know that you have some medical appointments that may require you to report late for duty on particular days or extend your breaktime then you can go for scan appointment and return to the office but request ur Dr to give you notes to cover those days/appointments, it will prove that you are responsible

I can't even remember if placenta is Anterior or Posterior in my last scan but then I complained to doctor last ANC, the kicks is now something else I am not even sure he sleeps at all
Because I am a late sleeper at night and up till 2 o clock he still dey run around

Epele mama, your leading LOs should probably be head down, na times 2 heaviness and ache u go dey feel so, i am happy this my bobo's head is to the right in a breech position, though Dr & sonographer said he will still change multiple times before delivery but atleast for now i rest

baby should just be btw 1kg - 1.5kg now oo, so u can imagine when they start packing serious weight close to delivery but no shaking, Oluwa is our muscle

March don come finish, after we celebrate valentine like this we go just dey drop for march anyhow (that's how i am consoling myself )

Hello Sir, it is not weird or out of place to start her period this early, some people start between 6weeks - 8 weeks after delivery, has she gone for her 6 weeks check-up, let her complain to her Dr, but if you are concerned about the heaviness of the flow let her go to the hospital asap pls.

Not to scare you but my sis had retained placenta after delivery which is a very serious issue and she kept loosing blood but she thought it was lochia, thank God she went to the hospital and an evacuation had to be done to remove the remaining placenta.

Please take your wife to the hospital asap especially since her mum is concerned also, better to get checked and certified okay than take chances.

Good morning mamas,please i need review of Origene fertility Lagos and St Ives lagos,after having a failed transfer in August and ending my second cycle because of cyst which was discovered on the day of egg retrieval,I really want to change my hospital this new year because i feel i was not well managed especially in my second cycle.

Wow, 1st time i am seeing someone mention Origene.

I cycled with Origene, infact that was where i got my bfp in my 1st cycle July 2021, Dr O and entire team are very empathetic, i started with them in 2020 with IUI and remained through myomectomy up until the ivf cycle itself. In all i am very satisfied with them and would highly recommend them. if you decide to go with them and need info, I am available to help.

For St Ives, i only used them for 2 iui cycles, though i got a bfp for my 1st cycle which ended in a MSC, i feel they should do better with how they handle and follow up with patients. I was not satisfied with their aftercare after my 1st bfp cycle and entire 2nd cycle was just not it, which was why i switched to Origene, though no hospital is perfect but i felt better with Origene probably because it is an ART clinic unlike St'ives which is a full fledged hospital with too many clients.

Just pray for God to guide you in taking the best decision
