Pls are you sure it’s genetics…cuz every time I’m eating my youghurt someone at work will say easy oh cuz of baby’s weight….should I be mindful of what I eat? Especially since I’m taking my Greek youghurt cause of of the calcium content

in my opinion, generally it is good to watch what you eat to avoid mum and baby being overweight, especially if you have the tendencies, but in reference to her, the 1st baby was 4.2kg at birth and being 36weeks there not much you can do about baby's weight baby wey go big go big, if you like no chop at all, baby will take all that is required from you.

But generally good to watch what one eats and you know people with their different opinion and unsolicited advise, some will say hope you are eating well you know you are eating for 2, others will say eat your normal meal portions nothing like eating for 2 so my sister do what works for you based on your Dr's advise.

Brown discharge after cramp at 5 weeks of pregnancy mother's please help. Its urgent

Hello Ma's trust you are doing okay and discharge gone? Just rest well, you will be fine, spotting is very common in early pregnancy, mine was subchorionic hematoma, but it resolved on it's own just avoid anything stressful, bedrest is recommended if possible and drink lots of water. Avoid pineapple, pawpaw, berries and potash for now

Mamas in the house am a bit worried ooo, went for scan yesterday at 36weeks, my baby is already head down but she weighs 3.1kg. I don't know what to do to stop(reduce) her weight by the time she's ready to come out.

My first child was 4.2kg at birth and I know what I passed through regarding tears and all. I hope I'm not being unreasonable?

Senior mama, of cos you are not being unreasonable, your fears are legit, but don't worry about it most scan are just estimate and for all you know your baby's actual weight may not be up to that, the good part is baby is head down so your are ready to go just relax, at this point i don't think there is anything you can do to reduce baby's weight, it's more of genetics and you have reached finished line already, just focus more on getting your body ready for delivery.

i am jealous of u sef cos March looks farrrr farrrrrrrr away and it is march ending sef, can't wait to see my handsome boy, forgive me jare i just found out sex yesterday and the thing is shaking me grin

Good morning everyone, pls why is it necessary not to bath for 5 days after embryo transfer

I bathed all through, but i think to avoid unstable body temperature and to restrict movement, other mamas that avoided bathing will give you their opinion.

Thanks so much mama this is so enlightening, am really trying to eat in bits and not wait for the hunger the morning's are always the worst, can't wait for 2nd trimester.

You are welcome sis.

Get crackers biscuit, the one in the yellow pack or any other biscuit you can tolerate, eat upon waking up in the morning before you eat your normal breakfast and don't let it be too late before eating in the morning.

I eat my proper breakfast as early as 8am and use my prenatal in between eating not after eating, it made a whole lot of difference and didn't make me queasy like I used to if I use after eating

Any reviews on Nordica? Cycled with them and ended up with 2 blasts after 24 eggs retrieved and 12 mature. Also open to tips on how to improve egg quality, I feel like so much more could be done and I’m open to suggestions please

I sometimes don't trust all these embryology report sef, but it is well.

To improve egg quality I recommend COq10/Ubiquinol, dha/fish oil/ vitE, good prenatal vitamin with a healthy diet

Mummies in the house, I have some questions tonight, please don't mind how foolish it might sound..
1. Hope 18 weeks is not too late to register for ANC for a first timer?
2. What are the tests done when registering for the first time?
3. I've heard a lot about 2nd Tri MCs (it won't be our portion in Jesus name) and the use of cerclage, how is it detected to know cerclage is needed and how can it be prevented?

1. 18 weeks not late, better to start now than later cos you should soon be assigned for Anomaly scan, take TT vaccine, and commence routine malaria, prevention

2. Scan, I honestly can't remember the rest but I gave blood and urine samples

3. Cerclage is used to manage cervical incompetence/ shortening of cervix which is usually detected by scan or used as cautionary measure when carrying multiples, usually done around 13weeks -14 weeks. Down side is with cerclage you are to avoid getting jiggy lipsrsealed. Generally risk of mcs reduces in 2nd tri, I would say rather than get worried about this, focus on feeling kicks from your LO grin

Good morning mamas in the house, pls am considering getting oats and milk for breakfast now,cos of the nausea (I don't vomit) and what brand of milk should I use? Or is dre something I can do to ease the nausea, indigestion and constipation am just 5wks. Pls I need help oooo

If you are lactose intolerant or milk makes you constipated my dear just avoid it, cos it can make you bloated and worsen your indigestion/constipation. Milk substitute I use was almond milk and soy milk during my 1st tri. Regular milk was a no-no for me.

Try fresh ginger tea, take lots and lots of water in whatever version you can tolerate, ( I could only take freezing cold if system changes warm, but room temperature made me feel sick) eat fruits to ease the constipation avoid pineapple, Berries and pawpaw, as it causes contraction and pelvic pain for some like myself

Eat in bits and take alot of water, never wait till you are hungry before eating it exacerbates nausea, rest rest and rest, it will make you feel better, your body is doing alot growing a human being grin so pamper it.

Pele before you know it, you are in 2nd tri and balling wink

You gat this mama and God got you

Hello sabi mamas, I saw my last period on 8 the of October, then my doctor put me on letrozole 2.5. On the 13th day of my cycle I went for tracking which it was discovered I had a matured follicle on my right ovary. After dat I did not see my period though my cycle is unpredictable. Until last week Thursday I started seeing a brown discharge when I wiped till now, though I took progesterone tablet after I thought I might have ovulated . I hv done pregnancy test and it came out negative. I am 40. Should I induce the period or wait? I'm afraid may be I am going to perimenopause. Pls help or contact person or person who knows somebody that will help. Married in May 2019, got pregnant in November, miscarried January last year, then since then nothing has happened.

Don't induce yet and don't stop the progesterone until you have done beta hcg, I will say give it another 2weeks and definitely see your Dr

And I don't think you are going into perimenopause, may just be your system reacting to the hormones/medication. Do you have PCOS or hormonal imbalance?

Anyone in 22 weeks too
is your bump visible already, so we had a parry today from my husband side and I was wondering why everyone knew immediately they saw me, well, it's good cause before I carry this they will ask me to leave it......In my mind is it not too early, who follow me Waka like this grin grin

Diary of a FTM tongue

It is not to early Kankan, that’s 5.5 months fa! Trust me your body has obviously changed even if you feel you look the same, I was deceiving myself that I obviously don’t look preggy, but your skin, boo.bs and looks in general usually blows a preggy’s cover.

Some acquaintances burst my bubble during the week, I haven’t seen them in like 4-5months when they saw me, they were just exclaiming that what happened to me, I look big and almost unrecognizable, one of them just said “ your husband is doing well” cry at that point I just gave up on trying to hide anything or deceiving myself that it isn’t obvious I am preggy

Thank you ma for the response. I would like to know why you didn't use it. Did you massage with castor oil?

No reason in particular, I was just tired of taking too many drugs and by the time I was ready mentally it was too close to when I started prepping for my ivf cycle plus my Dr did sonohystergram and everything looked good so I was cautious not to do anything to jeopardise the ivf procedure

I didn't use castor oil and for the life of me I can't really remember what I used, I think it was coconut oil cos it was not an intense massage, I was just very gentle on my body all through most importantly I prayyyeeeedddd and made confessions over my body, every drug and every thing else I did

Good evening everyone. I had a repeat myomectomy last Tuesday in preparation for ivf please when can I start taking serrapeptase to prevent formation of adhesions.

I think anytime between 4weeks - 6weeks after surgery to let your site heal first before it is administered so it doesn’t interfere with the healing process, you can also include gentle massage Of surgery site after 6weeks nothing too intense ooo pls

I had myomectomy too 6 months before my Ivf cycle, I was considering taking serrapeptase too but ended not taking it and only did gentle self massages occasionally like 1-2months before my ivf cycle.

I wish you all the best sis

Hello mamas,
Egg retrieval done, 12 fertilised. I am supposed to do embryo transfer tomorrow but i have mild OHSS, doctor said we might move the transfer forward if it progresses. cry

Pls who has had this experience ? How did you handle it? Did you go on to have a successful cycle?

Pls your response will be highly appreciated. Thank yiu

I had ohss but mine started after transfer I.e late ohss, even though I had a successful cycle it was an unpleasant experience I don’t wish on anyone.

I like that you Dr is considering moving the transfer forward, that will give your body enough time to heal and rest. Ohss is usually aggravated with hcg so chances are that it will get worse if you decide to go ahead with transfer and then get a bfp.

Are your embryos day5 blastocysts?
Though a frozen egg transfer cycle involves additional cost but it is advisable cos even with ohss you will still spend to treat it if you decide to go ahead with ET and the stress on you body and health is not worth it

All the best sis

Thank you so much, they are always asking me if I have started feeling kicks but I didn't know why,the placenta is even posterior, I'm just coming back from scan to confirm if everything is fine cos I haven't started feeling their kicks. Thank you for your explanations, I really appreciate it.

You are welcome sis, our very own iya ibeji, i tap into this anointing on my next mission ooo, let me just close shop afterwards, glad everything is fine with the twins. When do you intend to start shopping cos i don't even know where to start, plus this end of the year price hike is making me think i should wait till Jan which will be 3rd tri already, i am just confused ojare

Funny enough alot of mama's feel kicks/quickening and don't realize it, mine started like vibration/twitching sometimes or like gas/fart around my navel, don't worry you will feel them soon and the boxing competition ehn

Thank you so much for this explanation,
i was the one that asked my doc if i can go for it after the insemination, he said if i can afford it i can, i started using it, had used for for some days but something happened When j used it yesterday, after like few minutes,
I felt a wumbiling noise and force movement like kpum in my lower part of my stomach, infact the thought of it disturbed my sleep last, I think I will stop on it for now, was just using it as precaution of Pcos cos it has been years back i had low progesterone but it built back and I had conceived naturally but lost it at 3 month, I think I will stop the cyclogest for now cos I am scared of using it since that incidence last nyt.

Don't worry i don't think it is something you should worry about it, i would say don't stop it unless you check your p4 level 1st but also it good to trust you instincts.

All the best sis, i wish you bfp, trailer load of baby anointing on you.

Mamas in the house. Please is cyclogest used within the two weeks wait or after pregnancy is confirmed in iui, tanx

It depends on your P4 level if it is low, some Dr will ask you to commence immediately after insemination, if p4 level is okay you may not be asked to use it except you start spotting or there is a need for it

My 1st iui bfp cycle i was not placed on it, 2nd cycle i was placed on 200mg cyclogest daily just as a precaution but it ended in bfn. The explanation is that for iui since it is very similar to a natural cycle and there is no retrieval of follicles from the ovaries, the ovaries still retain parts that will produce p4 naturally to support pregnancy except in cases where one have low level of p4 naturally.

Good evening mamas
I'm in my 2nd trimester but have not taken any anti malaria drug, someone told me it's risky that I should get swidar, but I'm not having any symptoms. Please is it advisable to use the swidar?

Hello Mama, anti malaria drugs are not just given or taken anyhow during pregnancy as some can pose great risk to your baby.

I had concerns about it and asked my Dr seriously before i was convinced about taking it. My Dr's explanation is that anti malaria drugs is different from malaria preventive drugs which is the routine one given in pregnancy not the regular malaria drugs used for treatment of malaria when you already have it.

The Malaria preventive drug is given anytime from 16weeks upwards not before to ensure you are in 2nd tri and after you must have started feeling your baby i.e quickening, so pls discuss with your Dr. If you have started ANC your Dr will keep asking if you have started feeling your baby move it is because they want to know best time to give you malaria prophylaxis medication, at least this was what happened in my case, if by 20weeks you still don't feel your baby maybe due to anterior placenta, they will definitely give you the malaria prophylaxis then.

Whatever you do, don't self medicate pls.
