CultureRe: Meet The Most Beautiful People On Earth- The Fulanis by tpia1: 9:27pm On Jul 30, 2014
Bororojo: the Original Fulani are the darkest ones.
.
original fulani can be either light or dark.

my own interpretation of light fulani is one who is tan, likewise my interpretation of a dark fulani is one who is tan, medium brown or darker skin tone.

i dont know too many "white" fulani.

MisterG: Interesting thing that you said that Tpia1, the majority of the ones i posted according to the Fulani posters from the other forum they are from Nigeria from the Adamawa region.
some of them seem mixed, or tuareg/horner.

anyway, here are other photos to replace those from the other link which were not showing, of non-nigerian fulani:

I'm not really used to seeing light skinned fulani.

Most of the ones in nigeria are dark.

Some of the ilorin fulanis are " oyo fulanis".

They are highly skilled yoruba speakers.
CultureRe: Meet The Most Beautiful People On Earth- The Fulanis by tpia1: 5:23am On Jul 30, 2014
who says fulani men (and women) are not attracted to other tribes? huh

thats a misconception.

they're attracted to other tribes but they settle down with their own tribe mostly.

besides, most other tribes except for the hausa, do frown on their kids dating fulani, especially if the kid in question is female. [because that means she will leave home].

So, that in itself limits the amount of social interaction between fulani and "other tribes".

which may have given rise to the impression fulani men do not get attracted to non fulani women. They do, but they prefer their own women eventually.

just theorizing here.

and btw, many of the pictures on the thread do not resemble fulani. Are they horners?
RomanceRe: Why Is A Woman's Physical Beauty The Most Important Quality For Most Men??? by tpia1: 5:10am On Jul 30, 2014
depends on where they're from i should think.

in parts of nigeria, being (too) beautiful is considered a minus, not a plus, when considering who to marry.

in other parts, being beautiful is regarded as a non negotiable condition in choosing a partner.

CultureRe: Were There Any Nigerian American Citizens Prior To The 1970s? by tpia1(op): 2:13am On Jul 30, 2014
so, going by those figures, the first person of Cameroonian descent born on US soil to Cameroonian parents, would likely have been born sometime after 1974, if not the 80s, assuming the 13 students all returned home after their studies, and assuming females were among the original 13.
CultureRe: Were There Any Nigerian American Citizens Prior To The 1970s? by tpia1(op): 2:09am On Jul 30, 2014
^seems 13 Cameroonians were admitted to the US as students in 1974 (first documented presence).

by 1990 the number of Cameroonians had grown to 3161.

source: Cameroonian Immigrants in the United States.

According to the US Census Bureau, 71.6% of Cameroonian immigrants entered the country between 2000 and 2009.

CultureRe: Were There Any Nigerian American Citizens Prior To The 1970s? by tpia1(op): 12:17pm On Jul 29, 2014
Prior to 1960, Nigerians had British passports.

And America was not a destination choice for the majority of Nigerians, for some reason.

In 1925, there were 4 documented Nigerian students studying in US universities, and 25,800 or so Nigerians in the US by 1980.

Its my understanding Biafran children were flown to other African countries like Gabon, São Tome and Ivory Coast during the war, and from there some may have been transported to America (or maybe taken there at the outbreak of hostilities). Its also possible some adults may have been included. It seems some Igbos could also have been in the US when the war started, and remained outside of Nigeria for its duration.
IslamRe: Do Muslims Truly Find It Hard To Forgive Easily? by tpia1: 11:50am On Jul 29, 2014
belookinqz: okay but way about d Muslims having dat problem? they just won't forgive! even my Muslim gf forgives me only after a week.
I should think having an unforgiving nature is linked more to a culture, environment or genetics, than religion per se.

There are people who do not forgive, you haven't provided strong evidence to show it is the religion which says they must not forgive, rather than their nature and character making them unable to do so. Oftentimes, this is blamed on religion but such an attitude is not limited to one religion alone.

It could also be religious dictates encourage unforgiveness, but at the same time, it is still a personal decision or trait exhibited by the individual. I opened a thread before the shutdown , showing how peoples' survival as a group may be tied to the stereotypes and attitudes they are known for, and while I was referring to a different context than yours, its quite possible the people you have noticed, who hold grudges and keep malice, are influenced by culture ( and possibly genetics) in addition to religion. I know for a fact there is no forgiveness in ATR and among many christians.

This is why christians were told when praying, we have to ask God to forgive our sins to the same extent we forgive others.
