i hope the military and state security services are on alert for boko haram [in whatever southern form] activities? this type of balderdash usually precedes a genocidal attack on the citizenry. |
Still no yoruba mod. I wonder what the nl site admin and their sponsors are afraid of? |
What is this? |
This thread seems to be in bad taste given what is happening in kenya right now. |
♍Ɣ nephew just turned 6 this month. And I got him a book "MY FIRST ENCYCLOPEDIA Body" he pronounced the word without help from anyone. That's Ђδω fast kids are growing now. He reads fluently, actually he started reading b4 he turned 4. I'm sometimes scared when I assist him with his homework. But my consolation is that he actually knows what he's being taught. So all we can do is guide Dem the much we can @ home.
Not sure what kids in nigeria are doing, but kids overseas have access to various gadgets in the classroom and at home. Its very commonplace to see children playing with phones, ipads, computers, etc, so education ideally has to keep up with technology. The opon imo concept is one of the few attempts i've heard of which tries to do this. |
Shawn is most likely a derivative of the irish name. |
Radoillo: Interestingly, mputa in Igbo is outside. Any connections with Yoruba ita and English extra? You can start a thread on the subject, for people to look at that with you. |
^are you muslim? ![]() |
I've never met a white Dion, etc before in my life.
you have. just passing by. |
it depends, one doesnt necessarily have to be better than the other, your situation is what should determine which one could be right for you. if, for example, you want to settle down and quit the single life, but you're having difficulty finding someone, arranged marriage might be an option, provided the other party is also single and never been married. in short, a lot of factors need to be taken into consideration when it comes to relationships. and no, the type of marriage [love or arranged] doesnt guarantee an absence of problems either. |
can anyone tell me why nigeria is having so many beauty pagaents? what exactly is going on? |
2015 war no doubt. who is inviting these people to nigeria? do any of our nigerian celebrities act like that when they go overseas? |

abagoro: The lady is around 28 years and Iwuanyanwu's children have fallen out with him over the lady. I believe the children should allow their father enjoy good care at his age since they cannot do what the lady is doing for him.good care and a prenup, or he didnt do that? |
why do they keep calling this lady 23? ![]() yes, she's marrying into money but that doesnt make her 23. and, is she pregnant as stated in some blogs? |
PhysicsQED: Even if Igbos were "proto-Bantu" (I'm not convinced that there's any validity to that idea) it's possible that there would be a few words that would be common between some Bantu and non-Bantu languages even without borrowing - at least that should be the case if one believes in a common origin for speakers of Bantu and non-Bantu African languages in the very distant past.you support looking at language as evidence of contact between peoples, here, but speak against the same thing elsewhere. |
wait a minute, i just observed the video. i guess he was toasting the interviewer, so his they were toasting each other in the studio, see as dem close together? ![]() i hope the girl has not carried belle? ![]() just asking, lord have mercy. |
Shugamania: These jobless impostors need to get a life, Check out the terrible English ... Pathetic.true, he or she doesnt sound sharp. if you say you bought the car and ring yourself, then why stop there, you should also say you personally funded your brideprice and wedding also, and include the pictures. why claim you did things halfway. while you're at it, just say you jumped on top of psquare to have the kids as well. He had no hand in it. |
while we're on this, we should also look at why the yoruba words for within and outside, are similar to the english form. Are they loan words from english? yoruba: inu meaning in or within yoruba: ita meaning outside, as in ex/extra. Note, yoruba language does not have the letter X. |
aion as a noun: Aion (Greek Αἰών) is a Hellenistic deity associated with time, the orb or circle encompassing the universe, and the zodiac. The "time" represented by Aion is unbounded, in contrast to Chronos as empirical time divided into past, present, and future.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aion_(deity) |
topic contd The Yoruba adopt 'aye', the egun adopt 'egbe' The two words come from the same phrase. the Yoruba use "Aye ati jo", the egun goes for the last word "JO" to mean "ye" or survive. So somehow the language is just like the ancients were picking the same phrase and making their coinages from it to enrich their language.yoruba is a tonal language, but the usage of multiple meanings for words with the same spelling is rather intriguing. for example, aye is earth or world/society, could also mean life, lifespan, generation, etc. compare to greek aion [eon] which is currently used to mean a billion years, but in ancient greek, means life or lifespan |
op surely you can do better if you're attempting to showcase china. what exactly are you trying to say? |
^some ijaws claim origin from ife. its erroneous to ascribe a single origin to all ijaws. http://ihuanedo.ning.com/group/niger-delta-breaking-news-updates/forum/topics/ijaws-in-edo-state-brief-history |
MetaPhysical: No i was not pointing fingers, sorry the example is too direct.Iwa means way, character or manners. |
prexios: meanwhile you miss a lot along the line, metaphysical and myself had been slugging it out and he has accepted that not only were the ancient Yoruba Hebrew speakers as he has he earlier opined, but they were of Hebrew or Israel descent as were Canaanites.true, i missed a lot of the discussion because i didnt really read the posts, but i dont usually get involved in "hebrew" arguments since its not something i've looked at. i prefer viewing the ancient middle east context as a whole demographic, not just a particular one. However, thats just me, and i admit i really dont know much about that school of thought. |
unhealthy habits should be stopped.
true. |
kolamilan: this is a serious issue.very. |
People should be able to travel, see places and visit people they like.you dont need to hook up with questionable characters to do that. unless by tourism you mean sex tourism. |
Ema prince: that's actually the problem..you know they are easily deceived when guys give them compliments they never meantvery risky for a lady to let herself be deceived by such. the guy has only seen pictures, he can compliment but its still up to the woman to be careful. |
