Did his staff not know he doesnt like hailings and such? |
Someone who says she left her husband because of domestic abuse, does not pose in court in that manner. Even hollywood celebrities are yet to take such photos- at least they'll show a sober demeanour. One can only assume the posing is for her current guy, or the one she hopes to date in future. I do wish her well, i only got to know of her through nl, not much info on the husband either. She should try to keep some things low key, one does not always have to look good in every context, mind the message you are passing across as a public figure. My two cents, lord have mercy. |
has she seen this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/1279067/meet-lady-lay-golden-eggs and would she like to bet those ladies aint leaving nigeria without marriage offers in tow. just saying, its only God who can keep a relationship, but posing in that manner (op pictures), seems somehow weird, since most people do not know what transpired during her union. Did the couple previously agree they would divorce in this manner? ![]() dont know if the whole thing was staged for the camera or something. Did her spouse have a prior wife, was he a bigamist or some such? ![]() |
It will probably be replaced by something else that will still allow lots of african immigrants to move to the US. And hopefully this will encourage the nigerian govt to pump money into the educational system and ramp it up. Since they also need people to migrate elsewhere in search of better pastures? Would like to know more about the career aspect of the new visa system being considered. |
didnt i make a post here previously? hmm. anyway, i have an outline of another story in mind, just have to find the time and effort to put pen to paper and write it down. the synopsis is something along the lines of pride and prejudice, but a nigerian version, with the two main male characters being a tall dark handsome guy (mr Ike) and his tall, blonde (sorry light skinned), handsome friend (mr Tex). Not sure if its been done before in a nigerian setting, but like i said, i'm just writing for leisure, not an audience per se. Something to amuse myself, so to speak. As the first line of P&P goes, "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good So, i would like to play around with that statement, in a nigerian context. Hope i can eventually get around to it. Still havent found a character to portray mr Collins though. Will be back to continue the previous story, just jotted this down as a personal reminder. |
^ true that, we nigerians are more into documentaries on poverty, what we consider "injustice", and the like, a hungry man doesnt have time for all those other things in life. |

Paulemi Well, its too late now for recriminations although you speak the truth. Getting a phd overseas is relatively easier than getting one in nigeria, thats why you see so many ladies abroad with phd. People have to start figuring out how to help these ladies get partners, since they cant just throw away their qualifications which they worked hard to get. Besides, sometimes it might have something to do with visa issues, although not always. In the past, wonen usually got their phds after marriage, now , they get it before marriage. Society hasnt yet quite caught up with this trend. |
Igbos are very light skinned, thats a good thing. See all these beautiful light skinned igbo ladies. I'm sure most of them will get husbands before going back to their diasporan base. |

iv4real: Please do take care of your appearance.eod. not just because you want to get a man, but just because its what you do. |
cold: More ugly married women than pretty women? How do you know this? Is there any statistical backing or is it the usual anecdotal kind of argument? One does not necessarily have to be Miss World or miss anything for that matter but she should at least be attractive. Besides,it's even ill advised to marry a not so attractive person for posterity sake i.e for the sake of one's kids. Who doesn't like pretty kids?not more in number than pretty women, but often get married faster than prettier women. will edit, not sure why you must take it personal as if you're being forced to marry someone you dont consider pretty? |
jmoore: And in a case where the woman was not born with a hymen she should be referred to as "inexperienced" too?virgin is virgin, meaning someone who has never experienced an actual act of penetration. Virginity is about more than just the hymen, its a state of mind just as much as its the state of the hymen. Your example is an exception to the rule, so cant be used in a general manner. wrong comparison, we are talking about a sexu@l actit was an analogy showing why virginity is an inappropriate term for celibate males who have never had s.ex. The commonly used context of virginity is a physical state of the female anatomy, technically speaking. A man does not have a hymen to be broken. virgin means someone that has never h@d sex be it male or female.originally, it was used in a female context only. Not applied to males. You keep mentioning the bible. Did the bible use "inexperienced" too? The bible did not use "young man" as you claimed.the terms used are man and/or young man. The notion of virginity as it is used for the female, isnt applied to the male. virgin man is right and "inexperienced" is completely out of place in this context.i disagree with the former (my opinion ) and somewhat agree with the latter. Perhaps.if the op knows how to bring his girlfriend to climax, then he cant say he's inexperienced per se. |
95% of the fathers who die before mothers, are mostly over 70 years old. before then, na only God o, this is a wicked world. women mortality is higher. ![]() |
all these single men who like typing up treatises for/on the subject of single ladies. . . . . . . . . they wouldnt be single if you just say the word, nah. |
sweetcheecks:of course you do. ![]() i was just chatting with your SA sister in sexuality section, i hope she doesnt shout "nigeria!" whenever our nigerian brother is sweatily scoring a goal. ![]() pardon my language! |
cold: There's a saying that 'women would rather have beauty than brains, because most men see better than they think'. Fact is,if you have the intelligence of Einstein & the looks of an ogre, you're at a serious disadvantage because nobody wants to identify with an atutupoyoyo. Nothing like beauty with brains, perfect combo!this doesnt explain why ugly women often get married more quickly than pretty ones? ![]() eg in a situation where you have an intelligent ugly woman and an intelligent pretty woman, would you like to guess which of them will settle down faster. might not always be the pretty woman, who is more likely to prefer "exploring her options" when it comes to men. or who some men may feel riskier marrying. |
spongeback: I have noticed this too the days I am properly packaged( with fake hair and things) I get more admirers but when I am less packaged not even a bus-conductor will say hi.hmm, let me pity my keyboard and exit thread for now. ![]() |
all she needs is the waist, not unnecessary sentiment over the nationality. |
apples and oranges, in what way are academia and entertainment the same? ![]() you might be spending too much time in the club ![]() and which nollywood celebrity wouldnt willingly change places with any nigerian governor? |
Pennywise: We guys just want to get laidcorrection: Pennywise: Guys like me just want to get laidstop misleading people, thanks. So, I will say looks or beauty comes first. Those looking for a high IQ will not see it written on foreheads. They have to be be interested enough to want to mingle. Whether he stays after the act depends on her personality which is a function of intelligence by the way.what attracts a guy doesnt necessarily have to be physical beauty alone. could also be specific features that wouldnt qualify as pretty per se. |
does your link say theater? ![]() |
what does the op mean by "dressed up" btw? she ( or whoever the thread is about) might need to look at the types of men she gives audience to. its like a man saying women only look at him when he's wearing singlet and sagging his trousers. And displaying his tattoos. |
but you hope they're intelligent when you need them to approve your police clearance for visa. @ op and co. ![]() |
super story. in any case, "virginity" in males is better classified as "inexperience in males", since they do not have physical evidence of it like women (same way they do not menstruate like women do, NORMALLY SPEAKING). that's why the term "male virgin" tends to sound out of place most times. it might be better regarded as inexperienced male. i dont even think the bible uses the term "virgin" in a male sense, at all, someone correct me if i'm wrong. virginity is a female term- the bible just says man or young man, as the case may be. when the man actually has sex (in whatever form), then its called either of three things: fornication, adultery, or lawful if its with his wife. I'm of course open to another opinion of the term "male virgin" as long as nobody takes stuff personal. |
hmm interesting convo. In my opinion, most of these riverrine Delta tribes share common ancestry. though now they are separate and developing/developed into their own distinct groups.
that's possible. |
MSEdLAW: Thanks a lot for the advice!! But she intends getting a good job in TNT whence she can apy for the usmle and proceed!! Here in naija.. The remuneration for doctors is so poor that she angst even thinking of working here!are these her words or yours? if she refuses to work then is she planning on starting from scratch when she travels out? with med school, you do use what you were taught, unlike most other non-professional disciplines? ![]() what's wrong with her getting some experience while processing her visa? |
tspun: na waoo pple like story otrue that, but you didnt have to quote the whole thing. are you one of the "professional quoters" here? ie the ones who can quote up to 100 lines then type a less than four word reply. btw, you posted twice, do something about that if you feel like. |
churific: What do you mean by "OR"?i would have commented on the thread title but thanks for doing it instead. sometimes i pity my keyboard because of this nairaland. |
Not saying outward appearance isnt important though. Its God who looks at the heart, not men. So, op, do whatever works for you i suppose. there is grease for another pov. |
