seems you people [ie mods] are very quick when it comes to protecting your own interests and buddies, you delete and hide posts in double quick time when your friends are involved, but when its tpia being attacked and insulted, you take your blessed sweet time and leave all such posts there to marinate.

ok, good for you.

the thread opened by itbomb was gone almost before the ink dried on his keyboard while typing. Likewise other posts elsewhere.

Sissie: Not that something is wrong if your average looking, don't just assume you look better than the gorgeous girl cause she has some makeup on.
its people's prerogative if they want to consider themselves prettier than anyone you want to name.

everyone is entitled to their opinion, not so?

Is anything wrong with being average looking?
Romance › Re: Feminism. Ay Or nay? by tpia5: 7:27pm On Apr 24, 2013
The truth is that men don't fight for their own rights. They're usually on top in society, so I guess they don't make their own demands even when they need to. Plus, going back to stereotypes, men are conditioned not to complain and to "be like a man" and "suck it up".
men fight for racial, not male, rights.

and yes, they usually have the upper hand in most societies, so they dont have to fight for gender based rights per se.

their focus is on the racial/national/ethnic issues more than gender ones.

grandlexuz: but I refuse to accept make up makes an ugly woman beautiful.
yes it does.

that's the point of wearing makeup. Its to make the wearer beautiful.

Make up does not change the face structure.
it changes it artificially, not physically.

feminism works for white, or western women because their laws and culture supports it.

for a black, african woman, not so much.

Amazon1012: @tellwisdom and tpia, let's learn to celebrate our own. She sure looks stunning in that dress and of course, she would have attended that event with her hubby cos there's always a provision for spouse accompanied.
Omo T, congrats dearie. Don't mind them haters, we rejoice with you.
^ omotola did not go there to look stunning, dear. Its not a modelling gig.

she went to receive an award,or whatever it was they were doing.

of course her makeup is stunning, as always.

^ oh, sorry, just remembered there was a charge when i bought mine years ago.

its free on facebook, i think, but that's the online version where you play with other people (i dont do that for the reason mentioned above. The physical game, i can play with people i know).

this one seems to be free but the site requires registration before you can play:

http://www.pogo.com/games/scrabble

i havent tried it though, it seems to be the version where you play with other users online.

you can also google free scrabble download, there might be one available on the web.

found this for instance:
Sweetheart I'm not offended that you think I have a crush on Cameroonpride. I believe he is, albeit a bit silly, a good person, wouldn't you say?. I do think, however, that you have received too little love in your life if you would attach serious emotions to a cheap and random term of endearment.

Baby, I might have a crush on you too so why don't you run in the opposite direction and tell mommy?
^ try not to derail the thread, you people are way too sensitive with your insecurities. You turn everything into a fight, instead of taking what will benefit you from people's posts, even if you disagree with their opinions. oh well, its your life, your way. What irritates me is the envy and whining when you later see others who werent bull headed like you.
Sweetheart I'm not offended that you think I have a crush on Cameroonpride. I believe he is, albeit a bit silly, a good person, wouldn't you say?. I do think, however, that you have received too little love in your life if you would attach serious emotions to a cheap and random term of endearment.
your personal attacks say more about you, lets leave that in order not to derail the thread.

the bolded speaks volumes, you're using a "term of endearment" for someone you pretend to be at loggerheads with. And your choice of endearment wasnt "dear" but "babes" (short for baby), see, this is why onila has more admirers even when they are critical of her threads. She is still open and honest about her feelings when she has them. All the playing and pretence done by some of you other folks, simply delays your endeavour, because you are fooling nobody.

of course you can insist i dont know what I'm talking about, thats your prerogative.

Baby, I might have a crush on you too so why don't you run in the opposite direction and tell mommy?
I'm not a lesbian, dear, sorry to disappoint you.

tell mummy, tell daddy, tell my gossip partner, tell my boss, tell my fellow rumour mongers, isnt that the point of you owning a blackberry?

people are so used to seeing photos of celebrities/nairalanders/others who expressly doll up for the camera, that they freak out when they view pictures of normal looking folks.

on facebook, people tend to post their natural pictures, whether good or bad. At least, the people i know personally, do not have all model-isque pictures, and they still get compliments anyway.

please, i am not referring to facebook users who expressly post photos to hunt for booty calls or whatever. I mean normal people.

Swaggzkid: I have scrabble at home but no 1 to play with. cry
you can try the computer version (not sure if its available in nigeria).

the computer itself will play with you, or you can play with other online players, although i dont do that because of the hacking risk.
Gaming › Re: SCRABBLE: What's The Highest Word You've Ever Played? by tpia5: 3:10pm On Apr 24, 2013
cant remember, might have been a 50, but that was the online game, with all the tips and stuff.

personally, maybe 20 or 30 something.

the computer makes one lazy because there's so much help.
Sweetheart in the English language (coloq) “baby” is used for women and men.

Don't get all bent out of shape now, I'm sure u opened up your mouth really wide to say that cheesy
madam, dont twist the meaning of babes.

we all know what the context of using it is, just say you've had a crush on the guy and have been waiting for an opportunity to show it.

lol its so funny you called her mama joan.
i think she meant to compliment her with the pep talk, but let loose a little freudian slip revealing her true feeling.

as a mod, she might have just not posted if she didnt want to offend the poster.
Nairaland General › Re: Letter To Seun, Nairaland Owner by tpia5:
RESPONSES NOT NEEDED, THANK YOU.

I have a question- is there any reason why nairaland cannot be made a subscription only site. Imo, there should be a fee to sign up and be a member here.

I believe the vast majority of posters can afford a modest monthly or yearly fee, afterall do we not pay for internet, recharge card, brazilian weave, makeup, etc.

The site has one million user ids. lets say the actual number of human users is 5,000. A fee of maybe N100 per month would equal a base rate of N500,000 before taxes.

That's N6,000,000 per year- on paper, this looks like a reasonable figure, the difficulties of implementing such a plan are what need to be tabled.( i suppose those include the risk of losing members to competitors who will cash in on the situation. Similar sites like facebook not charging for use, etc).

@ the females and fellow males, i am not aiming for your man, and neither am i sucking up to him or mukina, so hold your horses. Like i said, i do not need a response, just dropping this because I'm not sure which direction the site admin want the site to go. Nl has been around since 2005, people use this place to launch their careers (some start from being made moderators), there should be a concrete mission statement of what the vision is.

A model does not necessarily have to have "sex appeal" nor "shape"
true.

the job of the wardrobe and makeup team is to ensure they get those.

chiover: To tell you the truth, their room is finer than my own.
i guess that's the point of the thread, we plebians should see how the rich are living, ie while we are doing sufferhead, we should also see how our fellow nigerians are enjoying.
You actually did contribute. Directly or Indirectly. By watching or listening to their songs (even without paying for it), U indirectly promote the song.Hehehehehe....
youtube promotes the songs, not me directly.

i've only listened to two or three- one was onyinye (years ago, with that miss nigeria lady in it, i forget her name), the other was when someone posted a list of top 100 nigerian songs or so, I decided to check the gangham thing and see what the hype was about.

all courtesy youtube, who made it possible.

I assume the op has promised husbands and boyfriends to all these women, because he still cant date all of them no matter what.

At most he'll date five or ten of them, anything over that, is cause for concern.

^just tell your folks to add the words " their fans" when starting threads.

if you speak english, you'll know using terms like "want you to see their sitting room" means everybody, they want you to see their sitting room. Including the tomato seller by the roadside as well as every other person with a computer screen.

speaks volumes if you're catching feelings but refuse to see anything wrong with the thread title.

if you're paying seun for space on his blog then ask him and mukina for a separate section where you can post at will without "outsiders" disturbing you.
Celebrities › Re: KWAM 1's Daughter, Honey B, Takes Off Her Shirt To Promote Her New Song by tpia5: 6:01am On Apr 24, 2013

see how she resembles him sef.
Celebrities › Re: Picture Of A Nairalander With Frank Edoho by tpia5: 5:35am On Apr 24, 2013
if what you folks are trying to do is admire the op, you should have asked him to specify the thread is only for that purpose.

rather misleading to open a general thread then catch feelings when others who are not privy to your group, post on it.

just cover your bases properly when you do your things.
