women should broaden their horizons. if you all run from males you consider ineligible to marry, then who will be left for you to date. |
hmm |
the thread is about african art but i'll digress a little. in prehistoric cave art, animals were often depicted with smaller heads relative to body size. This form of stylization when drawing facial structures, may have been because the society was a hunting one, and animal meat was important. eg https://www.sacred-texts.com/cla/moc/img/02000.jpg https://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/236x/2d/a4/0f/2da40f7dc0fba7cf5b3ecef162463722.jpg |
In most yoruba statues, the faces resemble the bone structure of yoruba peopleyoruba people do not have one facial structure, but many. the ife sculptures are modelled after specific ife people of that time, imo. (wide cheekbones, short noses, tribal marks)most traditional african sculptures feature the same, depending on the particular culture. The stylizations are our mark, just as lack of Western Perspective is the mark of most Asian art.art from which part of asia? chinese art is different from indian art, for example. |
Please don't exactly believe all Wikipedia tells you, as I've seen western "experts" get it wrong, yet publish it till it's believedits not a wikipedia thing, art generally can be analyzed by the amount and type of stylization used to depict the subject matter. your picture still shows stylization because the artist wants the focus to be on the rider, who is made to seem larger than the horse, whose size is minimized. So you are not necessarily contradicting wikipedia in this instance. greek art, which aimed to be as naturalistic as possible, generally followed actual body and facial proportions closely. eg https://historylink101.com/n/greek_images/zeus.jpg https://historylink101.com/n/greek_images/drapped-female.jpg https://www.scalarchives.com/scalapic/030709/b/MY00054b.jpg this was to make the art look more realistic and relatable, and since those were the "photographs" back then in that society. as opposed to highly stylized art which is not meant to be relatable per se, but more of functional for certain purposes, not the general public. |
I expected you not say anything on this issue because these immature children hates you because you always stick their lapses to their face without minding whose ox is gored.na aluu nah, nothing to do with my posts here but na "targeted" attack, in their minds. most of them are hooking up in the nl chatrooms, some with new ids. |
Tell your wife you do not want her partying all the time and ignoring her family. |
Well, consider building modern high rise apartments to maximize the use of land. All this will take a lot of effort and planning though. |
Anyway, they should sort it out if it really happened, and regardless. |
Sounds weird. How could a grown nigerian man break down in tears because a lady allegedly shouted at him? Just asking. Did he grow up outside nigeria or something? |
Getting husband is now considered a miracle? Na wa o, which way nigeria. Lord have mercy. |
there's still forest, so if new towns/suburbs could be built on reclaimed land or something? ![]() |

that can be fixed with either bleaching cream or by making sure the mother is not blackish. |
nigeria needs a landscaping culture. |
slary: As the year 2007 zero in how competent, transparent, and above all God fearing are these Nigerians clomouring for the hot seat in Aso rock come (May- 29-2007)i dont think those are the criteria or election portfolio for most nigerian candidates. |

i thought akpabio was apc. why are people always comparing akwa ibom to lagos then, if both states arent even the same party. |
no idea without a map. a functioning rail system would be better though. |

we are essentially saying the same thing, just from different angles. |

What Jesus said was WATCH and pray. Praying without also watching, is not enough. Identifying areas of hatred will help you know what to do. If you are interacting with xenophobics for example, will prayer make them suddenly stop being xenophobes? You might succeed in having one or two become your "friends" but a better and more lasting option is having enforced laws in place that make for sanity in the environment. And when that is not possible, you are not necessarily advised to stay there, you can prove me wrong from the bible. |
Well, any different from what we see on nairaland? |
ebehjohn: Why do nigerian guys see maarrying elder ladies as taboo and if they do,most times for selfish interestShouldn't it be a taboo? Any age difference above 6 or 7 years is risky imo. |
Doesn't seem like a religious beef imo. Definitely something else. |
What is pagan's opinion about the op's linking of ATR with witchcraft? |
