black women have to empower themselves because i dont think most of today's black males are free to consider all these. They are entrapped by desire. the other day a nler was pointing out he's waiting for a wealthy woman to come and marry him, and i think he was quite serious. I meant to quote his post (and ask him what that implied) but somehow got caught up in something else and so didnt do so. but my point is, many of our men are looking for women who will empower them, not women who they will empower. so, the more oprahs in the world, the better it may be for blacks in general i suppose, however i could be wrong, so dont quote me on this. but some single guys still have to marry the struggling black women though, or should they not have husbands because they're underpriviledged and black? ![]() btw women empowerment doesnt only mean getting phd or unlimited degrees- it could be in other ways like business, creative arts, etc. Just anything that's a plus for the black (or nigerian- whatever applies) community in general. |

op you practice a very weird form of christianity, going by your posts. i'd be careful if i were you- sometimes many things masquerade as spirituality when in reality they're something else. That might even require medical attention. lord have mercy. christians are warned to test every spirit because satan does disguise himself as an angel of light. |
You would think young adults stuck living at home with their parents would be sending texts of despair to friends about their lot in life. Think again. Most Gen Yers think it's gr8. Three out of ten adults, ages 25 to 34, are living with their folks and of those 78 percent said they’re happy with it, according to a Pew Research survey released Thursday and titled “The Boomerang Generation: Feeling OK about Living with Mom and Dad.” Even more surprising is that 77 percent of those still under their parent’s roof have high hopes for their economic futures. The Pew survey is based on telephone interviews with about 2,000 young adults around the country in December. It’s becoming like an episode of “All in the Family” out there. “The share of Americans living in multi-generational family households is the highest it has been since the 1950s, having increased significantly in the past five years,” according to additional Pew research that looked at U.S. Census data, and the 24 to 35 crowd are among the most likely to be living in such arrangements. One reason Gen Yers might be happy with the new family order is because so many of them are doing it, the researchers surmised. •Among young adults, 61 percent said they have friends or family members who have moved back in with their parents over the past few years because of economic conditions. •And 29 percent of parents of adult children report that a child of theirs has moved back in with them in the past few years because of the economy. Indeed, the unemployment rate for this group, which on the decline, is still 8.7 percent, above the national average in February of 8.3 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. “Adults in their late 20s and early 30s have fared somewhat better in the labor market, but they have felt the sting of tough economic times in other areas of their lives,” the report stated. “Many have had to settle for jobs they didn’t really want just to make ends meet. Fully a third have gone back to school, and an equal share (34 percent) have postponed either marriage, parenthood or both.” The economic turbulence, Pew reported, “appears to be giving rise to a protracted set of economic ties between parents and their adult children.” Having the kids return home isn’t all bad for the parents either, especially when it comes to finances. •48 percent of young adults report that they have paid rent to their parents. •And 89 percent said they helped with household expenses. This might be why many young adults reported not feeling footloose and fancy free, even though they’re not burdened by paying their own way. “Nearly eight-in-ten of these 25- to 34-year-olds say they don’t currently have enough money to lead the kind of life they want,” Pew results found, “compared with 55 percent of their same-aged peers who aren’t living with their parents.” http://lifeinc.today.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/15/10689031-for-gen-y-moving-back-with-their-parents-is-a-lol |
tried to modify the above and got a message saying Title is longer than 80 characters anyway, i was going to add: will look for more info later. |

IbroSaunks: Iono, i'm not sure i'm comfortable being tagged "easy to decipher and read"!i mean she feels more comfortable ie safer with you guys, than with maclatunji. its a female thing. |
ok, its not really my business if people decide to masturbate, but seriously, arent there too many threads about this issue? ![]() and why must all the threads be in religion section? ![]() |

ok, i just listened to maxsiollun's clip and didnt hear any british accent. so why is there another audiofile somewhere, of him speaking with one? ![]() or was that ahmadu bello? ![]() |
btw is there less space between posts or why do the pages look jammed/crammed/cramped? smaller font or is it my imagination? |
following the vbulletin layout isnt a bad idea. all the topics are aligned to the left [wasnt the old nl like that btw?], which makes for an organized look and feel. |
i think the second post agrees with, not contradicts, the former, lol. i think deols doesnt know how to place you, hence her wariness in interacting with you. she's more comfortable with the other guys like sweetnecta and ibrosaunks because they're fairly easy to decipher and read. with you, there's too much second guessing and uncertainty. |
who else but the op. your threads are legendary. remember the olden days when you had that huge crush on nwankwo kanu and kept stalking the wife? lol. and then we were so relieved when you got over your crush and decided to let them be, only for you to start a new batch of incomprehensible threads. one almost had to wonder if the original "amarachi" threads werent preferable. ![]() |
lol. can you explain? the contradiction that is. |
Uthman Danfodi was also a Tijaniya mystic. [he used amulets] and the history books also clearly show that he made use of "non-muslim Bororo Fulanis"which non muslim bororos were those? where were they from? |
maxsiollun: LOL at "is this the one where he spoke with a british accent?" Balewa ALWAYS spoke with a 'British accent' (as did many of our early post-independence leaders) These men were educated by, and learned English directly from British tutors. Hardly surprising that they adopted the pronunciation of their teachers. He spoke english like a native British person. As if he was raised in a British household. at least, going by the audio clip i heard oh. |
his accent was actually an authentic one. meaning it wasnt something he did to impress people but more like it would have taken a greater effort for him to sound non-British. |
it depends. |
