debosky:
That is a widespread Nigerian problem not restricted to private university students.
seems more widespread among private university students.

and if CU students form the bulk of the private school nlers then it applies to them especially.

Why did Mohammed initially marry only one wife? huh

Since he wasnt against polygamy going by his later actions, i always find it rather weird that he originally stuck to a single woman.

I've studied this before but could you refresh my memory in simple language:

what was the state of Islamic expansion during Khadija's time.

When did he start to conquer more foreign territory- was the polygamy synonymous with this time.

I know in ancient yoruba culture, most times when a warrior or king fought a successful war, he usually received women into his harem as a sort of peace treaty or spoils of war.

Not sure if something similar happened in the period i'm asking about.

Simple answers to the best of your understanding plz.

Yes, there a lot of CU people on nl.

Now, my question is why do majority of the private university students and graduates type in very bad english? huh

Always using shorthand even when it makes no sense to do so.

this seems like one of those merry go round threads.

poster, if you dont believe in the notion of karma ie seedtime and harvest, or in a future judgement, then there's no need to ask pointless questions imo.

do you understand the fact that matter can not be created or destroyed, but can only change form?

the family should just withdraw all suits all go into prayer and fasting instead.

OLALEKAN!!! KAI!! u r a disgrace! (no offence). So dat is y u sed UI is a better school? U see how shallow your reasoning is. Lemme giv u an example, u wont understand, but i'll jst act silly and giv it anyways. If u hav a condusive environment where the students can read and excel, you have few courses and u concentrate on those courses, isnt it beta dan a university dat d environment is notin 2 write home about and d students get to wori about other things asides 4rm their studies, and then u have courses that initially students are not supposed to learn in those areas, but they still learn. And very few of them excel well, and work extremely hard while majority jst bribe lecturers or blackmail, or threaten their way outta d school. You call dat handling? choi!! u 4 don suffa gaan o. Come to CU to see how courses should be taught.
i'll still say it. These are the type of schools that bring out whack doctors and fake drugs.
university is about much more than just education alone.

Family › Re: Man Raises Family Under Lagos Bridge by tpia5: 3:28am On Nov 18, 2011
@ radiant

^Not sure what you're getting agitated about.

So far, there's a an indication the man may have a drug addiction problem.

His insistence on receiving cash, his seeming indifference to the fact that his family is living under a bridge and his wife is expecting another baby soon, his avoiding the accommodation offered him- these are all pointers to the fact that substance abuse may be involved. In addition, his parents are there in lagos (he said) and the wife's family might also have their own side to tell.
Like i said, its a possibility which cant be ruled out.

If he's been doing odd jobs in the two years they seem to have been under the bridge, then the bulk of his income might have been used on a drug habit.

What is certain is this family needs help not just in the form of cash alone.
Some people might know what i'm talking about.
Family › Re: Man Raises Family Under Lagos Bridge by tpia5: 3:04am On Nov 18, 2011
Each state has a social services (might go by another moniker) ministry.
Family › Re: Man Raises Family Under Lagos Bridge by tpia5: 2:56am On Nov 18, 2011
There's a possibility the man might be on drugs, which would explain a lot of what's going on with his family.
Note i'm not saying he is, just that it's a possibility which cant be ruled out in the meantime, And a lot of drug addicts do live under the bridge.

But in any case, drug addict or not, this family needs urgent rehabilitation and a care plan spanning the next few years.

I'm still waiting to see when social services will decide to get invovled.

Romance › Re: For The Women: Would You Date A Younger Man? by tpia5: 7:54pm On Nov 17, 2011
@ topic

i dont have a problem if the difference is like under 5 years but anything more than that generally smacks of gigolo. Not referring to the op.

Of course there are exceptions since some men genuinely prefer women who are older than them but its still not advisable because the guy could just be looking for a sugar mummy or something similar.

Just my opinion.

Yes, i believe the ogidi king fought a lot of wars with his neighbours back in the day, and was generally regarded as quarrelsome or warmongering.

I thought people had gotten past all that however- it was centuries ago.

Madam rgp92

the thread is not a competition with your bini one, ok?

You are understandably attached to bini since its your hometown but there's no need to develop anxiety attacks over yoruba art.

I'm trying to be accommodating here since no one person can claim a monoploy on the thread, but try to disabuse your mind of the notion that the thread must copy the bini one word for word.

That's a very silly and juvenile way of thinking if you ask me.

So, learn to respect other people's views and learn to be civilized in your discourse.

If what you need is male companionship due to loneliness, then there are plenty of males in sexuality and romance sections who can help youwith that.
