Politics › Re: Namadi Sambo Is An Igbo Man? by tpia5: 8:52pm On Aug 15, 2011
looking at Namadi and Nnamdi

in hausa [and kanuri] , the prefic na is a common one meaning place

nna in igbo means father.

so, that's a start when analyzing the two words.

Tpia@,
if you could see me now.
I know you would consider me a handsome man,but the question is would you try to have me by all means or would you begin to stalk me as you have been doing on NL?
well, you can post your picture [or search for one on google] and have the ladies analyze it then we'll see if i'll try to have you by all means.

i dont need to stalk you since you're always at my beck and call, like so many others here.

no wonder i have problems choosing.
Culture › Re: The Igbos Are Probably Nigeria's Most Populous Ethnic Group? by tpia5: 8:40pm On Aug 15, 2011
but we don't make noise
true, hausas tend to keep a low profile.

Now again if a yoruba man is named david and he is light skin then u would think he is igbo without asking for his ethnicity

whereas the dark skin igbos are easly to notice because they have a detinct accent
well, not every light skinned yoruba would be mistaken for igbo.

most igbo have very distinct features.

This thread's been a disappointment, I was under the impression of that they were a better looking group than what's been presented. I really don't see what the rave folks have made about their supposed good looks have been all about.
you were looking for light skin and caucasian hair no doubt.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Controversy Of Wearing Troussers by tpia5: 7:52pm On Aug 15, 2011
@ topic

if the husband tells the wife to resume using makeup, wearing trousers, etc, or whatever she was doing before, she better start doing it.

the bible itself says a woman's husband can invalidate a vow she made, and neither does any scripture support defying your husband in such a manner.

if the man is ok with it, fine, but if he's not, then put it on the back burner.

^^^Are you for real?
Do you have a problem understanding threads ?If you do lemme break it down for you. Since you are obviously slow.
Firstly the two threads are not related in any way.

The first thread is not about me not having a man cos I got one already. Its a discussion on women who havent been proposed to.
This thread is me pointing out that someone is choosing to change her lifestyle against her man's wishes because she is afraid she will go to hell.
Lastly, I dont give a da mn about proving you right or otherwise.
Your opinion means less than two kobo to me.
I'm only replying your post cos its so silly it makes me laugh otherwise I would have ignored you since that's what your post deserves
you'd better go through that thread of yours again and reread what you wrote.

eg

I'm not desperate though, just wondering.
I mean, I meet girls who have had like one or two proposals in their lives!!
ETC ETC. Not interested in going over details with you.

but i guess we're seeing why you're having problems getting proposals. undecided

i think you really need to reassess your priorities because the same men in your locality who you say arent proposing to you, are the ones non-nigerian women are flying in to meet and marry right there in nigeria.

at this rate, you might resort to getting a "yeast" man, i dont doubt.

Foreign Affairs › Re: Snowing In Johannesburg Right Now (pics) by tpia5: 7:30pm On Aug 15, 2011
snow isnt so uncommon in parts of africa- particularly the extreme edges of the continent.

there's a light-ish sort of snow which is occasionally seen in SA and maybe some other areas. Not sure if something similar was reported in lagos before.

many of the tallest mountains in africa are snow-capped- eg kilimanjaro.

parts of north africa also have light snowfalls.

he's in no way better than any nigerian guy you want to name.

and yes, he's the same category.

Culture › Re: Origin Of Ifa by tpia5: 5:35pm On Aug 15, 2011
Well, no harm in finding out what the etymology of "fa" is.

Plus they were the original oyos and still speak the language.

Johndoe

do you mind not spamming the thread? huh

Why did you have to repost so many times.
Culture › Re: Origin Of Ifa by tpia5: 5:07pm On Aug 15, 2011
Since kwara people (who were originally oyo proper) tend to say fa with every sentence, maybe the etymology of the word ifa should start from there.

Just guessing and just hypothesis not set in stone.

Of course the pronunciation is different but sometimes yoruba words play on syllables that way.
Culture › Re: Commit Adultery, Go Mad by tpia5: 5:02pm On Aug 15, 2011
It also happens that nymphomania or excessive s.exuall activity, is one of the symptoms of a schizophrenic conditon.

So its very possible the women so described in the write up, were already running mad hence the affairs.

In any case, the symptoms described for the males - stiff neck, etc sounds like poison, tetanus, rabies or any other phenomenon that manifests like that.

People need Jesus to deliver them from all these ancestral demons.

Lord have mercy.

Foreign Affairs › Re: Britain Faces Shortage Of Qualified Engineers by tpia5: 4:35pm On Aug 15, 2011
The nigerian or african family structure has also broken down for the most part, leaving us in the same situation as our black, non-african counterparts.

At this rate, i hope africans wont have to start calling on melanasian blacks for assistance with value systems and also marriage.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Controversy Of Wearing Troussers by tpia5: 6:10am On Aug 15, 2011
^^didnt you start a thread saying you never got a proposal yet?

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=735101.msg8922039#msg8922039

have you gotten one now?

seriously, this internet is a two edged sword.

if you were serious about what you were saying in that thread, then you're really not being proactive about getting a man. Or getting someone who is husband material.

for example, if you dont have anyone who could hook you up personally, then you could have at least opened a thread in dating section detailing your request, instead of coming here to chatter about someone's husband being stolen because she doesnt wear trousers.

seriously, is this attitude for real? huh

i mean, i do like to give folks the benefit of the doubt but why do they keep proving me wrong.
