imo, as soon as the ex boyfriend called to let you know he was on his way, the first question you should ask (if you know how he got your number), is how did he know your husband travelled. |

him in a hotel in order to avoid all appearance of evil.
Should you inform your husband you did so?
let's say the ex boyfriend suddenly called you out of the blue to let you know he was on his way and after staying a while and making no effort to not prolong the visit, you got him a hotel as the next option.

tartar9: is divorce the only 'sin' you see.xtians ain't competing, they surpass your 'unbelievers' in any immoral act. 1. I'm aware of that. My point is, openly advocating and gloating over divorce is not Christian. 2. I'm not debating the sinfulness or otherwise of divorce. What I'm saying is a Christian should not see divorce in the frivolous manner that a non-Christian would. Why are you a Christian if you have that kind of attitude? Which even some non-Christians don't have btw. |

DollyParton1: ARIBISALA is probably the shortform of "Aribi sa asala" which translates loosely to "one who sees danger and runs to safety". It is probably one of those nicknames that stuck over time and turned into surnames for the subsequent generations. I am not sure about the side of Yoruba land the name is from, it could be from anywhere, but it is more likely to be from Oyo and Osun state axis. I stand corrected though. Aribisala means we have a safe place to run to. It refers more to the place of safety than the person going there. It's a common name in Yorubaland. |

tpia: I dont know if people are aware of the overall negative effect of their words when they can only respond to inquiries by quoting bible verses that may or may not be relevant.
I have nothing aginst quoting the bible, but Jesus himself did not only use bible verses when teaching. He also used stories from nature and common sense, among other things.
And as someone pointed out, there is too much hate speech disguised as Christianity. Such speech is nothing more than the Christian version of terrorism. If you live by the sword you will also die by the sword- this is also in the bible. Trying to score brownie points and terrorize people by threatening them with fire and brimstone ( as if God is your personal messenger), accomplishes nothing.
A lot of non-Christians actually have a better understanding of Christianity than many so-called Christians. So if your only response to an inquirer about or a mocker of your religion is to threaten thunder, then check yourself. You may not be much better than the person you're preaching to. That's the irony of religion, and a trap for many. |
