Career › Re: Remote Work: Any Hope For Non-Tech Nigerians? by Trajan(m): 6:07pm On Jul 26, 2022 |
So, can your AI tool work for a Business Analyst? chatinent: I go use pidgin. No vex.
True true, time go reach when administrative work go disappear unto say AI go take over. The takeover is already in place.
Tech is the future.
And e dey easy to learn now because na the basics. Soon, it will be expensive because of the demands.
But what I think? It will always look difficult if we keep calling it technology. Technology is actually that skill everyone has. My dummy thoughts tho.
Did a voice over as an amateur for an Indian couple and they were wanting more. And I am like..with this my yeye voice? Hehe.
Tried virtual assistance..with a faster speed rate of delivering 10k words in a day. Employer asked how I did it. I no tell am. That's my secret...pay me.
Opened a website for a man running a candy shop in 20minutes, designed and functional. Dude was all surprised. First guy charged him $4000 for 3 weeks. I charged $2k for few minutes. You can guess the rest. No bi say I sabi pass the first person, no. But I only learn things with AI these days...it just makes works easier.
For instance, there's a tool to do everything you do in an office for a week in minutes. What's really the need visiting? You snap the paper, it converts to Word. It computes..provides options for charts and many more. Then why do humans suffer?
So I used to draw when I was lil. Like I draw well. But later, I found one tool where you put the original picture and it paints it like hand drawn. What I do, I freelanced with it. You can hardly tell... My secret? Simple tool! Faster delivery!
Everybody has a skill. Try doing the lil graphic design you know...it's money.
Even if na only pidgin you sabi translate to, visit sites and offer to translate their webpages to Nigerian pidgin. They may not pay you at first...yeah, work as an intern. They will add you to translation team. Na CV bi that for next paying jobs.
I'm proud to say I am a contributor and developer at Google. Oya ask me what I did. Na just to do survey and review. Offered to translate too. No bi say I kuma do anything self. But that batch that year, I was enlisted as a contributor. But you needed to see how I boosted with “Developer at Google” during my Fiverr days.
Same with Wikipedia. I helped edited some profile. My name enter team from Nigeria that year. It was in my freelance CV, trust me.
I'm sorry but I like money... genuine money tho.
Just do it right and yes, boast about it in your CV.
Everyone has a skill.
I know of a dude online who says he has no skill..but he sends potatoes as love notes to emotionally depressed folks. Dude is a freaking millionaire.
I believe every skill is technical. You just need to know to apply it to meet the audience.
So many ways to make money..but it requires consistency.
Did I forget? I think the analogue age hasn't really passed so far we remain a developing country.
So cashing out it easy until tomorrow.
I no dey too do webinar again..cos I have personal businesses to manage...pay me N100k make I dedicate one week put skill into you. Trust me, e no go affect your normal jobs.

Carcholce: I think I agree with you about the dead not being aware of its state. It seems to experience consciousness, one must be in flesh and alive! Meaning if the body dies, sense of consciousness will cease to exist just like in the beginning when consciousness came into being from nothing.
Or perhaps one must totally be dead to experience afterlife. Meaning if you are in coma and not completely dead! You cannot fully experience consciousness of the afterlife. For example, one must be born to experience life, and one must be dead to experience consciousness of afterlife. Very good inputs Carchoice. Being in coma is somewhere in between...to think people can be alive in this state for several months, even years without experiencing consciousness, as you put it; here or in the afterlife! |
Health › Re: Coma: What Goes On In Your Mind by Trajan(op): 11:46am On Jun 13, 2022 |
threegees: You get it. It took me approximately 4 days to understand my environment (where I was), know my family members, it's a whole lot please. That's indeed quite incredible! It's certainly not everyone that experiences these dreams or nightmares as your case seems to suggest. |
Health › Re: Coma: What Goes On In Your Mind by Trajan(op): 8:14am On Jun 13, 2022 |
threegees: When I was in coma, I was brain dead. Know nothing, remember nothing, imagine nothing, see nothing, as in BRAIN DEAD!
When I got back to subconsciousness and tried opening my eyes, it was still hazy. Got almost full consciousness after about 24 hours from subconsciousness. It was a process.
It made me imagine what death was like. Dead people, to the best of my knowledge and from experience, know nothing. OMG! Your being alive must be a miracle!! Brain dead people are legally dead as their brains are just that: DEAD...the state of coma is a state of mininal functioning of the brain which puts the body in a sleeplike, unconscious state. |

pharmagba: I have fainted like four times that I can remember, I think I was unconscious for few minutes. I can recall event as I was going and as I was returning back but I don't seen to remember if there is any activity in-between. Moment before going I feel as if I want to vomit then I lose control of all my senses the last being sense of sight When coming back it's my sense of hearing that comes alive first. Infact on one of such occasion it seems as if I was running from afar back into my body. Noises around me seems it's from afar and I was moving close to the noise. It was a strange experience Wow, thank you for sharing your experience. |
Health › Coma: What Goes On In Your Mind by Trajan(op): 10:35pm On Jun 12, 2022 |
We probably all know being in coma is being in an unconcious state. It may occur due to severe trauma to the brain or it may be medically induced. A famous example is F1 legend, Michael Schumacher who was induced into coma in 2013 due to his serious injuries after a skiing accident.
What I didn't know was sometimes such people have strange experiences including dreams or even visions! After watching a movie where an accident victim in coma 'started' a whole new life with new people and even started a business, I decided to research online and found information about some people 'experiencing' things that never happened physically. The longest time a person has ever been in coma is 37 years.
Have you ever been in a coma before or know someone who has? Do you mind sharing your/their experience? Not much seems to be known about what the mind does during this time. Let's share so we can all learn. |

miladelly: He is good to go since he is British and he has his British Passport with him.
Ideally, when travelling to UK or any other western country you don't need to show your Nigeria passport WHEN you hold a Passport proving you are a nationality of that country.
But make sure you have his Birth Certificate handy...
He only needs his Nigeria Passport or Nigerian Visa inside his British Passport when he is coming to Nigeria.
Hmmmmm I will advise you quickly get his Nigeria passport for him before he leaves otherwise getting Nigerian Passport in UK can be daunting.
The way I have just explained to you is what is applicable to my children who holds Irish Passport. Thank you indeed. Meaning you present their birth certificates at the airport? |

monfizzy: Nigeria passport is only relevant when travelling to Nigeria. From Nigeria to abroad it’s immaterial regardless of age. I’ve never used my Nigerian passport when returning to Britain but just the U.K. passport and same is true for my niece who’s 12 and has been to Nigeria a few times now Thank you very much. |

So, my 7 year old child recently had his British passport mailed to him in Nigeria. He now has a flight to UK coming up.
My question is, will he be allowed to board as he doesn't possess a Nigerian passport? Please, note that I paid the airline for chaperone service. I would really appreciate answers from immigration guys or frequent travellers.

Family › Re: My Uncle Has Decided To End His Marriage Of 30 Years by Trajan(m): 6:47pm On Oct 17, 2021 |
Conpat: This is happening in my own family right now. My mother was always telling my older brother that our father's house was his own.She will say things like do you want to spoil the kitchen sink and block the drainage system, don't you know this house is yours.
My mother was always talking with my older brother in private and filling his head with only god knows what.My brother will misbehave and when confronted he will fight with my older sisters and be saying things like do and go marry, this is not your house. You have married, go to your husband's house I don't know what you are looking for here
Today he is over 40 and still living in our father's house with our parents. My father was telling me that to even buy bread or gas in the house he does not, yet he works. I think he is waiting for the day our father will die so the house can go to him like he has was told over the years. My father has never said anything about the house being his own or talked about a will or inheritance, but mother and son since decided who is getting the house.
I like my mother she is honestly not a bad person just flawed but this thing you have talked about is so real and I don't know if some mothers do it knowingly or unknowingly. She has now seen how her 2 male children are useless and not helpful, last month I sent her some money and she was thanking and blessing me saying it is we the female children that are actually helpful. I said to myself so it is now you know.
I pray I don't make the same mistakes with my own sons. Me and my sisters want to put money together to renovate the house for our parents comfort but one is not very interested and she has been asking, why should we spend money renovating a house for our brother to come and inherit. He is not even the first born child.
Sorry for the long talk, your post just triggered me to talk. I also support what you said on another thread about training children to be independent and responsible enough to hustle their success instead of fighting over inheritance and fathers properties. I have noticed that it is mainly male children who do this dragging of inheritance and fighting for property Thank you indeed for sharing your story. Sadly, a large number of families are dysfunctional and probably worse in this aspect. This is a sad reality! |

petsolo115: I am just imagining this because my best friend left for Austria last week. He put his newly married wife under my care Years ago, a lady I was dating was begging me to sleep with her friend. I thought she was fooling around until I heard the reason; her husband had been away for 2 years plus and hadn't returned since he left. The next time I visited this lady, her friend was there and wanted me to take her to a hotel, even wanting to pay. I had only hugged and fondled her a bit when I looked down and behold my manhood was already in her hands! It happened so fast! I beat a tactical retreat and kept away from both of them till I left that city. Please, don't worsen her plight by hanging around her unnecessarily. You would end up sleeping with her which would be a deep betrayal. |

I did exactly what your friend did. I left my wife in care of a friend who happens to be our housemate as well. Your friend didn't have a choice. He wouldn't have left her if he could go with her.
I hope you don't betray his trust. In my case, my friend is even a womanizer but I seriously doubt if he'll try to sleep with her being a married woman. He is not that kind of guy. |

Hello Nlers,
Kindly advise:
I have a nephew schooling at a state university in the south west. I recently got fed up with his non-stop requests for money and have decided to set him up so I can have my peace of mind.
Is a gaming shop a good idea? Also, for those in the know, what items are needed and how much should I budget?
Your replies would go towards helping me make the right decision and would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance! |
