BusinessRe: CBN To Pump ₦1.4trn Cash Into Circulation by Treadway: 10:47am On Sep 25, 2024
ObosiLandlord:
It can't lead to inflation. The CBN is not giving the money to the government neither are they dashing it out to Nigerians.

It will only lead to more naira notes in circulation. I hope he will print a lot of #50,#100 and #200 notes too.
you are not being truthful to yourself. The drive since before this crook came to power, ie right from the time of the cash redesign policy, was all in a bid to mop up excess cash in circulation from all the ways and means printed over a period of years, and ensure those, including the crook that got in, bring all the stupendous cash stockpiled that are not in the banking system back into the banking system, so that the mop up will be effective. In shorts, they wanted to cover their tracks at the time.

Now that the crook got in, and since then, they have been screaming every two market days about how the excess cash from ways and means printed by the previous accursed regime was the cause of the inflation, and how it needs to be mopped up. Now they have a done a full 360 on that.

No need to try to hush the facts or rewrite very recent history. Some of us are paying keen attention.

PoliticsRe: The Hidden Training Of Tinubu's Governance by Treadway: 3:21pm On Sep 17, 2024
kayjordan:
President Tinubu took on the office of the President on May 29, 2023. He declared a removal of subsidy in his speech and this created a controversy. One cannot be sure if Tinubu's declaration was an immediate order or if it was a developing order. What was noticed, was a panic from Nigerians which resulted in chaotic queues at fuel stations nationwide. Analysts declared his decision as hasty, others say decision should have been implemented with consultation. Whatever the case, the decision has been made and Nigerians feel the discomfort of Tinubu's decision.

Petroleum is the heart of business activity in the country. No one relies on any other energy source. A decision made on this natural product affects literally every thing you can imagine. This is where the problem is. Citizens have to make tough choices based on a "Commodity". What they consume, where they go and what they do in their daily life is determined by a commodity - " Petroleum". There goes a saying - "Teach me how to fish, do not give me fish" . This statement describes the subject of this article - the "Teachings" and the "Training" of Tinubu's governance. One may wish to call it "Personal Economics 101" or "Personal Banking 101" - which ever pleases your heart, persons are training to become self-sufficient and economical. Nigerians are used to the "Mother and Child" treatment of the Government and the new policy of "Father and Child" is being perceived as punishment for an offence they do not know of. Many despise this new policy and want it reversed to one which is more familiar and comfortable. Persons during many comedic-stage performances, have demonstrated a desire for former Presidents to return, as they deem former government administrations, favourable compared to the existing one. Former President Goodluck Jonathan, saw the sustainable need for a "Mother and Child" administration. He probably sensed if the feeding bottle were taken away, the baby, would cry. This act of sensitivity informed his decision to retain the fuel subsidy even if the country crashed, for the feelings of Nigerians are more important than the assets the country hold. Nigerians also concurred - as long as they were not the sacrificial lambs.

The country's administration is run with emotions than with practicality and for many decades, this system of practise has resulted to fiscal problems such as deficit and debts. Advocates suggest a rigid governance if the country truly seeks a solution to these problems - therefore, a call for a Leader who is radical. One, who will steer the ship to the path of "Needs" rather than the path of "Wants". It is indeed clear, Nigerian do not know the difference between a "Need" and a "Want", hence the call for a Leader who would show the people the way.

It is no surprise, life is going through a pre-evolution phase. Persons are making wise decisions - some embracing Agriculture, a neglected sector. Sometimes, tough decisions make tough people if willing. This does not mean a support for the current discomfort faced by Nigerians but rather, a support for proper governance. Proper governance means; providing basic amenities, services and security for the people. One must understand PRIORITISATION. In a bid to provide all basic amenities and services to the people, all stakeholders including the citizens must understand the current status of their country and acknowledge the hard facts, that these amenities and services will not be feasible. The country's economic status is tagged "DEVELOPING", given the existing statistics. One cannot possibly wish for an immediate standard of living of a developed country in a "developing" country of this kind. Therefore, the country can only afford to fund "INFRASTRUCTURE" instead of "CONSUMPTION" that Nigerians have enjoyed over time. In no situation, can both a "Need" for infrastructure and a "Want" for consumption be provided for at the same time, given the current financial status of the country. This situation is described best with this statement - "You cannot eat your cake and still have it".

Theorists write to the current discomfort faced in the country - they address the fundamental issues with facts and figures. A blueprint for development sometimes is easier written than implemented. Why this is? It is simply because no one truly sees the future. You are only as knowledgeable as your yesterday. Therefore, no manifesto truly describes the outcome of tomorrow except if the writers of such are Psychics. Tinubu's decision to remove subsidy could not have been done better, for no one knows best, the right strategy to make a country better. The Government system is a complex system of wires and you need be, a "GOOD" Technician to pull the right wires. Only the creator of the conduit box can be the "GREAT" Technician for the device that which he created, he knows best how to handle. No existing President have sufficient foundational understanding of the problems their countries face therefore, such Leader can only perform a trial and error. If a Leader does solve the problems of a country that he did not create, then he must be great.

The hidden training of Tinubu's administration is in one's daily experience. Indirectly, the Government is training the people to become active players than receivers. Even though, it is the Government's responsibility to provide for the citizens, the circumstances do not allow Government fully deliver on such promise therefore, the call for citizens to fend for themselves in the areas the Government lack capacity.
like Training Day right?

A country of training.

Let me put in in elementary English, maybe your code/algorithm go pick that up. Even with subsidy removal, if naira had not been turned to tissue paper, petrol will likely cost around 500, hyperinflation that has completely destroyed the populace would not have happened, and the fuel scarcity that will continue to happen, thanks to 90% of the stakeholders being priced out of the game wouldn't be the case.

Today September 16, 2024, and fuel is officially 1k, all because the bastards that some blind bats enthroned, decided to turn the naira to tissue paper. Cursed be the APC!

The fools online and offline that were expecting fuel to be 300, how far?

As usual, the fools don't even know that the worst has just begun. Let me explain, even though fools still won't understand.

Fuel is gonna be expensive yea, but that is not all, you will still queue likely everyday to buy it. It will not be ready available anytime soon, maybe not even a year from now.

Cos only 1 full tanker will cost approx 50m naira, ONLY NNPC and a few big players eg Bovas will have the financial muscle to buy stock, meaning all the small players with small petrol stations will never open again. Even the Bovas will not buy stock everyday compared to when fuel was affordable. 10 Bovas station would amount to a bill of 500m, if na you would you be spending that everyday?? Meaning only the NNPC, will readily have fuel, meaning queues. The era of readily getting fuel anywhere is basically dead and gone for the foreseeable future. So much for fuel subsidy removal as a solution to all problems as touted by nairalanda1.

God go punish APC for making the naira toilet paper. We will not be in the hapless hopeless state, if they just kept the naira strong till this refinery started. I don't see any respite anytime soon. You will buy fuel at high rates and still toil and queue to find/buy it.

Ha! What a shambles!

Interesting article for a weekend read. ( https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2024/09/12/low-skilled-migrants-cost-taxpayers-150000-each/ ) Not a fan of grading humans according earning but putting numbers might help adress the often regurgitated tripe against us. Need to look beyond the initial clickbaity anti-immigrant Telegraph heading

Fist oddity is the representation of the low wage migrant worker but none for the low-wage British worker. I assume it was too gory to include on the graph. The average Brit has already costs the state almost 500k by the time they get to their mid-20's. Goes to butress a point I made earlier that in assessing the benefit of a low wage immigrant, one needs to also factor in the cost for the nation to produce an equivalent replacement (if available) or additional costs of labour shortage to the system.
An average earning migrant coming in at 25y is like handing the UK a cheque of £450k (equivalent replacement) + >12k (visa fees) + ? 20-50k (uni fee if a student) + benefit of that person not being able to claim public funds for at least 5 yrs during which they must work and keep contributing.
the whining continues🤣..seems like, not much has or will change in this regard, despite the switch from conservatives to labour.

I'll borrow a phrase lexus used once, as it pertains to immigrants vs citizen, as immigrant you must pay to play o😀...and gofament on both conserv and labour side both agree that immigrants aint paying enough for the play you are enjoying.

Hehe.. I see your point. Let's not too belabour it so you don't finish me with too much 'research'.

Looked up the video of Biden making that statement to appreciate the context. ( https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/video/2020/may/22/joe-biden-charlamagne-you-aint-black-trump-video ). I saw your post defending Trump against unfair media reportage between him and a black reporter and compared that to the statement Biden made jokingly to an interviewer at the an informal interview.

Racism has far evolved beyond overt barndoor seperate public spaces ish we had decades ago. So asking for proof (I.e waiting for him to call a black person a n**ga) is only a tip. What's more telling is to recognise whats unsaid, the true meaning of whats said, underlying nuances and patterns. It's like asking me for evidence on Nigel Farage or painting him as a defender of migrants. Even in Nigeria with tribalism and Buhari's history. Many didn't bother and still voted him- they said afterall his supposed cook was from another part of the country.

I see you dodged the lgbtq and anti-abortion stance. Don't you consider those important?
lol OK. Respond truthfully as God is your witness, Yes or No bro. If Trump, had said on a podcast that 'if you dont vote for me, you aint white or christian enough' would you have considerd that just playful informal talk, or would you have once again heard another reason why the guy is a no-good divisive piece of shittt?

The anti-abortion stance?

TrumpThe supreme court brought the matter to the states to vote and decide. Trump is not effecting a national abortion ban as lied by Kamala, even fact checkers have debunked that one. She was the one who dodged and wasnt pressed to answer when she was asked her stance on permitting 3rd trimester abortions, cos she knows Roe v Wade allows up to even the period of dilation sef, as per legally. Just look up minnesota (Walz) abortion requirements on any news site even, and see with your own eyes. It is fully legal, but they conveniently included that such cases/requests are rare. You could watch any of those videos up there, they addressed most of what i have said with more vivid detail.

About LGBTQ, i merely said she is very passionate about those for sure, compared to the border crisis (as border czar wey she be) or the 'black community'

Undoubtedly, the two parties are selling themselves and their proposed solution very differently.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Treadway:
Harris was referring to comments Trump made at a rally in Andalia, Ohio, in March.

At the rally, Trump vowed there would be a “bloodbath” if he’s not elected in November — comments that came during a broader tirade that included his referring to the possibility of an increasing trade war with China over auto manufacturing.

At the Ohio rally, Trump said: “If you’re listening, President Xi — and you and I are friends — but he understands the way I deal. Those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now … you’re going to not hire Americans and you’re going to sell the cars to us, no. We’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those cars if I get elected.”

“Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s gonna be the least of it,” he added. “It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That will be the least of it. But they’re not going to sell those cars. They’re building massive factories.”

Later, Trump said, “If this election isn’t won, I’m not sure that you’ll ever have another election in this country.”

Trump has continued to refuse to acknowledge that he lost the 2020 election. The doubt he cast on the results of the race helped sow the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection.

In response to the comments in March, Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told NBC News at the time that “Biden’s policies will create an economic bloodbath for the auto industry and autoworkers.

Don't say he will be Armageddon to America/world, when as recently as 2016-2020 he was president, the world didn't end, and infact there was relative peace for all four years.

Simple as A freaking B and C!

You’re the one that thinks Obama is an angel. Obama was even pro American than trump. He was the one who actually started pulling American economic interventions out of Africa that made Chinese influence in Africa grow to what it is today. The difference is that Obama does his things silently and you won’t hear noise. It’s actually on record that Obama deported more undocumented migrants than Trump but not many knew as there was no impression of bigotry made like Trump do. It was even in Obama time that Nigerians were finally excluded from the American green lottery program all in the excuse of Nigerians exceeding the quota so rest America has always had their policy. Trump only promotes division and bigotry

Yeah he actually did supplied the arms of course he had to after all those support with visa denials for Nigerians like shege 😜. He even classed Nigeria among those countries with majority Muslims for the visa ban.
he is the president of USA, he isn't there to please Nigerians or seek your validation by easy passage into the country. Also, remember Mutallab? Also remember boko haram? Are Nigerians flooding the USA today under Biden? It became harder even under Biden, so what's your point gangan.

See? Facts over feelings

If he had kept the ban on weapons, same you will say today that he didn't supply weapons to help you defend your country cos he hates blacks. He removed the ban, now you're saying what was the effect?

The effect is this isn't about him, it's about you. He would have to be baptized in 2000 holy waters before you see him in any other light.

They are in the same group as you in Trump's world because they are not white caucasian people. Can you please stop this childish argument, it is not funny. So of everything I wrote, this is all you could interpret in defense of Trump? You don't know the difference between white and non white? Mtshewwwww
I do, and I also know the difference between fact and feelings. I have fleshed out the facts in the modification of the quoted post. Quote me back and present facts, not too much to ask. Show evidence abeg. Make Kamala fit use am rather than 1905 issue of not renting out flats. I know the definition of racism and I put it to you to show us all, your evidence of his racism

Ps: I already said it myself that that dog and cat comment is/was stupid. I don't agree with everything the man says or the man does, but I still won't let feelings or biased media make me call a spade, a fork. I also mentioned at some point that this guy was a freaking TV star (lights camera action for many years), that was paid t for the most part to be bossy, to talk unguarded etc, for the most part. I know his etiquette and drama is much, but all that doesn't make him a racist, sadly. It just makes him all those things, you could say he's unhinged and over-the-top, and that would be spot on. Also, he already ruled for 4 years, and unsurprisingly as you may have noticed the world didn't end. Infact on the contrary there was peace all through. Lobatan

So this single Biden quote in which he apologized compares to the hate venom Trump has been dishing out not once but back to back to back since 2016 and hasn't apologized for even once? Instead of apologizing, he doubles down on it. Are you for real?

Trump said "Immigrants are poisoning the blood of our country" echoing the words from Nazi Germany before the holocaust. Do you realize the amount of concentrated hatred that would reside in someone's heart before he can voice that dangerous rhetoric in public?

In case you don't know, immigrants he is talking about is people that look like you and me. He is saying you carry poison that is destroying his white country. What do you do with a poisonous creature when they are near you? You kill them before they attack you.

So what Trump is doing is to give cover and justification for his base to attack immigrants should a UK style anti immigrant riot happen in America which will happen very soon as
" Haitian immigrants start eating pets and dogs" according to him and his base

There is a valid argument to be made about the amount of immigration pouring into a country but Trump and his base issue is not whether immigration is high or legal, it is they dislike non white people are coming in. A white boy tried to assassinate him, white guys are king of school shootings that have killed many American kids, he doesn't bring that up even on campaign train. Imagine if they perpetrators of these crimes were black and immigrants, the whole black community and immigrants would have been recieving it wotowoto from him

I'm going to assume that people like you who are immigrants and make kindergarten arguments in defense of Trump have not really known him well and what he and the entire MAGA movement represents. Otherwise, I will say you guys are too naive.
illagal Mexicans look like me and you?

You and I both know these are either utterly unfounded claims, or misrepresented claims, which I have seen the unfair media do time and time again, even live. That alone is enough for me to give the guy a break despite that the guy isn't perfect. I shared a Candace owen video awhile ago (you should watch it), where they tried to distort and misrepresent what she said on live camera nonetheless, not knowing someone on the panel would yield his time to her to respond and call out their shenanigans.

Media that has been caught distorting several of his comments, shouldn't expect me to believe without evidence clickbait that they have become accustomed to spewing. I certainly won't take all they dish hook line and sinker. Shikena.

Shebi Kamala stilll lied about these in the debate
'very fine people on both sides comment'
The bloodshed comment'
Both misrepresented and have been debunked, but some people decide to still hold on to those, and the many more like it. Hate him if you want, but provide evidence, not just kalokalo that CNN is dishing and spreading online. At the recent NABJ conference live, he said to the lady in blue, and I quote 'that you would start off in such a hostile tone, despite being here in high spirits, and you starting late is disgraceful'. Headlines immediate read Trump calls black reporter disgraceful. You will now hold onto that and say he's racist, meanwhile that was downright false. Those two sentences mean two different things, but you expect me who has been paying attention to the fine details of the game, to join the bandwagon cos the guy talks anyhow, is rambunctious, proud, and is blunt.

That you don't like someone or their attributes doesn't make them racist. Simple as ABC. Show proof of his racism, I dare you or anyone for that matter. If Kamala had any, she wouldn't have brought up the flats that he didn't rent out before 1906 (not actual date🤣), as her evidence of racism, don't you think. If she had proof of racism she for talk am na.
