Blacks, if you don't vote for me you ain't black enough - Biden 2020. How's that for divisiveness? Apologised a year later, but hypocritical much ain't it?

Someone up there is basically rehashing the same divisive rhetoric, and he certainly won't apologize, cos he wouldn't know a wrong thing if it hit him in the face.

If you don't vote for Dems or Kamala, you ain't Christian enough is his message.

I can just imagine the bile and rhetoric about racial and religious divisiveness if Trump had said 'If you don't vote for me, you ain't white enough or Christian enough'. Lol

So much for the hypocritical hate on the evil called divisiveness.😁💯👏

Kenn55:
I am even disappointed in Kamala for not putting Trump in his place on those issues you mentioned.
First, Trump failed to solve the border issues as president. Remember " I will build a wall and Mexico will pay for it" he said in 2016. So he campaigned on the border, but didn't solve the issues as president.
Go and check the data for US illegal border crossings from 2000 till date, you will see that millions of " rapists and criminals " in his own words crossed the border under his watch. In fact, in 2019 alone, about a million people crossed that border. Yes, more people have crossed under Biden but then Biden has also deported more people than Trump. So where was the outrage from Trump when millions crossed under his watch? Immediately he was out of power, all of a sudden the border became an existential issue again. If he didn't solve it as commander in chief, what moral authority does he have to blame Kamala who is just a mere VP?

On Economy, that is simple, he left the economy worse than he met it and that is a fact. Obama did a good job in reviving an economy battered by the worst financial crisis in 2008, handed it over to Trump and he left it worse than he met it. Ok that's because of the pandemic abi? If he can be excused cos of the pandemic, why shouldn't Biden who inherited the pandemic riddled economy not be excused also? Did Trump hand over a booming economy like he inherited from Obama to Biden, and Kamala crashed it? Trump is running like he wasn't in power 4 years ago. Everything was going well for him and his administration before covid and that is a fact. There was relative peace in the world throughout his tenure, chiefly cos he just exuded strength. His reputation as a rambunctious fellow, actually did keep a good number of world crazos in check and that is a fact.

I struggle to understand why some of us immigrants support a con man like Trump. Have you guys listened to his MAGA base like Alex Jones, Steve Bannon, Tucker Carlson and other of his surrogates and see the kind of venom that comes out of their mouth? MAGA is not about policy, it is about " white grievances " and you guys are being used without knowing.

Trump had the opportunity to pick Tim Scott or Vivek as VP but his racist mindset can't accept the idea a non white man being next in line to the presidency. He has not recovered from the fact that Obama was allowed to be president or the fact that a black woman is tryingto be president. Those 2 people debased themselves supporting Trump more than anyone yet he forgave someone who called him unprintable names just years ago to be his VP. How is JD Vance better than those 2 people? Non white men don't qualify for those positions, they are product of DEI.

Make no mistake, I don't like liberals. My preference for leadership are moderate conservatives who don't subscribe to hate of other people and apply common sense in governance something liberals lack. But I will take any liberal over Trump any day. He will still likely win as there is a silent " white grievance" powering his campaign. He has used it before and it worked for him, it can still work this time especially since there are many naive people out there who think MAGA is just about policy.
I hear you. But here's the thing, I have data that debunks a number of things you wrote here.

First, when you hire someone and that person doesn't fxxck things up,and continues growth and growing, that is a resounding success, not a thing to be taken lightly...case in point Nigeria. Imagine how nice Nigeria would be if the APC knew anything about growth, building or maintaining it.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2020/09/05/trump-obama-economy/

I don't want to inundate the thread with screenshots, but as always I encourage everyone to look at those charts and tell me Trump shouldn't get his due credit. Like you did here, even the writers of that column dilly-dallied about giving him his flowers, but thankfully the charts don't lie, and tell a very different story. On almost every chart, there was an existing high and then a dip during Obama years (which you highlighted why), and then things started looking up. On almost every indices, he improved upon what he was handed, in some cases considerably. That is a plus. If you won't give him those flowers, then don't give Biden any either, cos what he got to begin with was largely better than what Trump got to begin with. That he made a good thing much better is a plus not a minus. That's on the economy.

On the border, I don't have the data unlike the above that I've had for a while, but I do know that he had come in also to deal with that existing mess and that was left by who? Was he doing something about it? YES. Was he hated today largely by some of the things he was doing about it? YES. Would he have made significant progress solving that problem had he won his second term or had he enjoyed the support of Congress or the support of the media like the Biden-Harris administration? YES

He called her out on it cos she is the border Czar, and she has done absolutely nothing in that capacity to profer any sort of solution...hasn't shown she's interested even. At least he did something as a doer and not just a talker .

What has Kamala done so far? Let's critique the wonderful things she has done, if any. Those are the questions that we need to ask, not all the petty, bogus sensationalism that people focus on instead. I hear you and understand you, but I'm just not a bandwagon fella, and I know this, ask just about anyone who is suffering from Trump derangement syndrome (as I like to call it) why/how Trump is a racist or bad for America, and all you will hear is incoherent babble, you won't get a rational or sensible response why..that someone is over the top doesn't make em racist. That you don't like someone doesn't make them racist. Racist na word wey get clear definition. infact ask em why Kamala is a great choice, na still babble you go hear...as if this person wasn't the president between 2016-2020. You don't have to like the guy, just be rational and that is fair and good enough by me.

Biden said to blacks in 2020, if you don't vote for me, you ain't black enough. How is that for divisiveness and making it about race? If Trump said that, the headlines would be crazy.

Anyhow dem wan do am jare. Come November we go see who amelikans go pick, and we go see as things play out afterwards too.

Hehe... it's the usual modus operandi. Ever societal ill is blamed on immigrants plus some purposefully vague terms intended to mean something different like how they change the 'feel' of a place. If your pet is missing, perhaps an immigrant has eaten it. Afterall, his younger bros Nigel Farage blamed us for vehicular traffic.

He has insinuated the likes of Kamela, Obama and a few non-whire politicians are not qualified or American enough to run....

Wouldn't be to sure, still dicey atm but I'd give her a good edge.
I know/realise that he was trying to stay on point with regards to the top two things Americans consider the focal issues:

Immigration/The border crisis
Inflation/State of the economy

But I still think he had a lot of opportunities to really call Kamala out on her self righteous BS by putting her on the spot, which the mods clearly had no interest in doing. Look at how he put her on the spot on the border, when Kamala blamed Trump (talk about passing the buck), a former president for the Biden/Harris failure to secure the border, claiming that they were unable to pass a supposed bill that could have solved that, and Trump told her that they have executive powers to close the border and asked her why they haven't done that. That was a good one. Also the one on the tarrifs he (Trump) imposed on China, which they (Biden) didn't remove and still benefit from till today but she supposedly and deceptively tried to twist it as a con/negative. He should have done a lot more of that, and there were opportunities to do so, which he missed. If he had, that would have been glorious. The last question also, all these so called promises you're talking about, how come you haven't delivered on just one of them all through a full four year term? He should have unravelled her on national TV, and even put the mods on the spot too, rather than needless ineffective comments like migrants are eating pets, and all that BS.

Anyway, I agree that Harris benefitted more from the debate in terms of being who is likely winning some new people to her side...can't say the same for Trump, cos not many are as knowledgeable or objective about the nuances playing out here as I am, for example. Only thing I've seen Harris contribute in 4 years is junketing around the world being a champ for lgbtqrstuvw and all that BS. She can champion and strengthen that group specifically, but no such initiatives for the black community for example.

Bringing up things that happened before she was born, cos they can't find anything recent to label him a racist... same Kamala that called Biden racist too before she became Vp due to shit he had done also before she was born, same Kamala that got into politics on the back of being a side chick to a married political big-wig..talk about breaking a black home. She ain't no saint, and doesn't have me fooled, not in the least.

Let's see how it all plays out in November.

The debate was fun.

Largely, cackling Kamala did better than I expected, had very good punchlines. Trump started off good, but over time was tying too many things to the people flooding into the country, so much so it became way too rehashed like a broken record. Had some good rebuttals, but that's just about it. He could have done way more to crisply highlight the glaring inefficiencies of the Biden administration.

Harris had a good debate, Trump had a good closing. That closing statement was sweet. Wish he had chipped that in earlier like midway so it registered more when he eventually says it again in closing.

Oh and he didn't fact check her lies or ask the mods to fact check her lies, since they had no interest in doing so. They didnt fact check her, even once.

Still pretty sure he's winning come November tho💯🤞

It's hard to tell how this one will go. If Duplessis follows the Strickland method, goes forward and stays in Izzy's face like I think he will, then he has a good chance of winning. If he doesn't close the distance and falls back, Izzy will rip him apart.

Can't call this fight till the first few minutes into the fight. He absolutely has to go forward and also go for takedowns. Part of me wants Duplessis to win, so he can face Strickland again.

FDI is Foreign Direct Investment, meaning new international entrants coming in to invest in Nigeria, or existing international business interests increasing their investment in Nigeria. The Low wages narrative is what will continue to make immigrants as objects of attack even with the increase in the salary threshold for skilled workers and the planned increase again in the construction and IT sectors will this narrative go away? I thought there is a minimum wage that applies to all occupations. Even in a country like the US where wages are much higher it’s still the same narrative politicians used for campaign purposes. So you see this low wages shit it’s all propaganda, simple.
I like painting scenarios.

If you were a black American, who hasn't had to convert dollar to naira mentally for years, do you believe you would be happy to take lower than minimum wage under the table jobs for example? Cos those are the jobs that Nigerians wey japa with visitor visa, or those from Mexico wey cross the border typically dey do.

I think the average black American even when shit poor, thinks he is likely better off financially than the black immigrant, cos he hasn't lived his entire life converting dollar to naira for example. All he knows is the concept of what the dollar can buy and the concept of a comfortable life based on what he can do with the dollar. The black immigrant due to his knowledge and experience from the other side, knows damn well that at all at all na im bad pass. So just like I waited a year after NYSC and didn't take the 50k jobs, the 70k jobs and preferred to sit my ass at home till the one that I felt I would enjoy better and would pay what I desired came along, cos while my folks were not rich, we sha dey ok, but someone from Niger or Benin Republic with the exact same qualifications as me would happily take those jobs if the opportunity presents itself. Same with artisans, in the very recent past before balablu killed naija patapata, Togolese and Benin Republic guys would happily collect less than half of what naija artisans will charge and do an even better job cos their realities/outlook on the pay differs from our own.

Just my opinion, can't support this one with hard facts

If you were still in Naija, earning say 150k a month, and you find a horde of Ghanaians or Nigeriens are trooping in unabated and being treated by the FG to hospitality that your 4-months salary can't afford you, and this goes on for an extended period of time, honestly answer yourself, would you harbor some resentment towards those Ghanaians/Nigeriens?

We know the govt is the one that should be challenged and we are not saying that resorting to violence on the Ghanaians/Nigeriens is right, but are you gonna tell me in all honesty that you won't harbor resentment towards those Ghanaians/Nigeriens?

The story of the prodigal son in the Bible, a son stayed and served his father, while the prodigal son went and squandered his inheritance. He came back after hitting rock bottom and daddy took him.backwith open arms, put the finest robe on him and killed the fattest cow to celebrate. All well and good. The story is about love. Now let's add a twist, let's assume the father kept celebrating and partying and spoiling the prodigal son with gifts everyday for years, while not doing anything close to that to the son that stayed, would you as the good senior brother that stayed tell me in all honesty, tell me you won't harbor resentment towards your brother and/or your father?

Inheritance sharing lasan in some families divides them irreparably, some even seeking each others lives. Psquare wey share the same womb sef are literally sworn enemies for the most petty of reasons, much less strangers.

We are talking of human beings here, not angels. The violence is not right, and the govt are the cause we know, but human emotions will override all that, as with the two scenarios I painted up there.

Agentxxx already summed everything up well. That this non-issue still keeps dragging like this shows it's personal jare.

How do some of us think. Is it neo-colonialism or just plain cowardice? What section of human history do you have the faintest knowledge of?

You remind me of a coward I knew back home who kept telling me how people from his part don't come to my part. I told him we don't think alike. That if a language competition is organised in his village, despite the fact I don't speak his language, I can decide to participate in that competition and best him. It is not my fault, it is the way I think. The world does not belong to cowards. The first property I bought in Nigeria was in a northern state I grew up in- same state I had seen loads of people being killed in my very before. People were grovelling. Told them my thinking is simple- it makes economic sense, I but it.
That is why today, despite doing respectably well in the UK, I'm set on giving myself and kids the right to be Nigerians, Brits, Canadians or Americans. Anyone we deem fit, we use.
you don finish? Abi e still remain? When you finish, go and crown Chidinma as Miss SA or go find one Silondile from SA and come and crown her as Miss Nigeria in your lala-land.🤣

I am an unapologetic realist...there is the principle of reciprocity and mutual respect, both of which are visibly absent in Nigeria-southafrica relations. So keep expecting unicorns to fly. The said girl don finally borrow herself sense and done the needful.

If you like build house for sabongari, na your decision and house na. I served in the north, Jigawa precisely, and witnessed first hand the post election violence of 2011, and the killings and carnage that happened. No way in hell I would ever consider living there or building anything there...lest one demented idiot in a fit of rage burns my investments to the ground. They showed us then, similarly wetin the UK thugs show una recently....say even those non-northerners wey dey dress like them, speak like them, and have been living there some for over 20 years, still dey easily identifiable by the natives, and were just as much targets for the mob action as we wey be newcomer.

I agree with your one point, we definitely don't think alike, afterall our thinking and decisions are largely based off of the experiences that we've been immersed in.✌️
