NNEWIsuper:cos he wants to be provider there too...only dependent can work unlimited hours. The student/main applicants can only do 20hours a week which is nothing. |
Yameater:while I don't support this, the woman wicked too. You can never understand the pain until you feel it. All those Nigerian people you have read about that killed their wife and even children and inlaws abroad due to this kain thing, na the pain make dem craze lose control. When you give your all, do it for your children's future bla bla bla, and this is the reward you get after emptying your blood and sweat you go realise say to stay sane and rational or kind no easy |
motymop:cosign! Mo proud ju gbogbo jatijati yen lo. I have a gift of moving on pretty quickly if I sense just a hint that I'm not wanted. When I no be leper, I no ugly, I love and value myself..omo i'll take a walk with my head held high even if I don dey wreckt.. it ain't easy and it's a great loss, but hey if you gotta hit rock bottom, hit it like a champ at least. Lol |
Greymann:just one question..are you saying she is in Nigeria now and that she did not already have student visa (CAS) from Dundee in the UK. Wetin concern person wey get CAS and two year post study with COS sotey she become COS scam victim. Na that part I no understand. Modified: I have checked your past posts and you clearly are the person in question. Now just come clean and tell the truth as it is is. How did you come to be involved in all this totally avoidable mess when you were already in on a student visa with another two year post study to use. How the hell did this happen, cos I can't wrap my head around it. How would you be collecting money from several people and still say you are not involved? That you aren't the one who ran away with money doesn't mean you are not involved. You weren't collecting all that money for fun or just to help. Na wa oo. So much dabaru in such a short time. |
Greymann:oh really! Was a victim of Job COS scam as a 'student already in the UK for a little less than a year' abi. Who she be in the grand scheme of things that the team that carried out the investigation would wanna defame her? So all the investigation was rubbish ba? Is she in Nigeria as you said or presently in the UK where she got a student visa to study at University of Dundee, which is it? Are you her or related to her, cos this your defense watery gan, you haven't provided any proof to rebuff the news article rumor as you put it.

Eat shit Mr Sheet! |
Validated:it stands to reason that the cameraman is one of the handlers. Simple sturv.. |
GetSenseNow:now this makes more sense to me. I also believe the lions have a particular memory attached to that stick and is why the stick has a psychological influence on them...not the theory of drugs one fella was talking about. Those lions look pretty okay to me and not under any influence at all. |
slam7000:interesting....so the lioness standing on that tree branch is also under the influence I presume? |
You people are all crazy. Ati NLC o, ati TUC oo, ori gbogbo yin ti daru. |
sammyonal:congrats on where you are.. Quick answer. My solar can carry my inverter AC which I don't even use on the inverter cos my mist fans do the job just fine with less energy consumed (I already said this twice but your closed mind didn't allow your eyes to see that). Even your fellow abroadarians on the UK thread are mindful of their energy and water consumption despite availability of the water and the electricity, but you don't say they are suffering or call their meticulousness child's play. Quick question, do you iron every minute of everyday? Cos I don't. When there is light, I iron, and what's more I only iron sometimes once a month. What else? Ok to further prove that you are the typical unidirectional thinker that is clearly only problem oriented but not solution oriented, even if I go off-grid and i want ironed and steamed clothes, can't I just pay a laundry guy to do that? How many people that are the typical working class or even anyone of my status even iron their clothes themseleves, if no be say I naturally have OCD and like to do most things myself for best desired results, sotey I don turn DIY expert. Simple solution is give a laundry guy to do the ironing like most people in even present day Nigeria do. That is the so-called problem/question you could throw at me?? Smh Once again, see how this nigga has turned a simple statement on solar setups for homes that can actually be beneficial info to someone somewhere into a Naija Vs Abroad argument. Dem use am swear for una ni? You people say solar is virtually unachievable, and I have said and shown even using myself as an example that it is very achievable if you cut to the scale you can afford, which will still work for a good number of people. SIMPLE! Why must everything be so hard for y'all to comprehend for God's sake? Ok let me speak in elementary terms maybe e go enter ya head. Most people can't afford japa, but they still japa anyway. The solution? Loans like the ones you took. Most people can't afford large complex solar setups with many panels and many batteries. The solution? No loans, just a smaller setup with more focus on prudence than extravagance, just like even you do abroad do with water and electricity. People on this same Nairaland ration the use of their heater in winter, why dem no on am all day everyday, so the whole world can know they are living the life. Switch On everything in your house every time and everyday na, ain't no one stopping you. Can you for the love of GOD comprehend that basic and elementary point?? |
sammyonal:is it your child's play?? You don't set standards for me or anyone else. That is a blind, dumb and stupid thing to do. I live in my house and was proactive enough to take measures to ensure I have electricity on demand. My generator is in a store ffs! When power supply worsened and fuel shot up, I figured rather than bring out the gen, I'd buy a panel, and I drew up a simple inexpensive plan. Just one panel and as long as the sun shines, I have energy stored in batteries for my use for as long as I want now, even if Nepa wants to be unfortunate e no bother me again, generator remains in the store, family is comfortable and have light to do things, and you say it is a child's play?. Who died and made you an authority on standards? It just shows you don't know anything about practicality. I'm a businessman, so cutting costs and being practical yet still achieving desired outcomes is what I do everyday. It's like that suffering you suffered before leaving Nigeria is still giving you PTSD. Silly talk, those that can't or don't want to japa should not sink borehole in their house but be waiting for Nigeria to provide them water. The water wey dem provide yesterday for their papa abi. Be living in lala land. Mtchew I hate senseless chochocho. Go and force Tinubu to give you all electricity and make Nigeria Eldorado OR You can as well pay the flight ticket of just two people here as your contribution to japa, AS a man who doesn't do child's play. We are talking about how people who can do something to make their lives easier can actually and realistically do it without breaking bank, this one is talking stuff without heads or tails... |
GloriousGbola:chochocho without any substance. Much ado about nothing. So because I did not mention solar charge controller, that invalidates what I have and use in my own house. You sef for mention 10yard cables and bolts and clamps. Batteries last for 12-18months? Maybe you like cheap or used stuff. Buy good products like Quanta or fiamm, even Mercury elite/luminous gan sef, and come back to tell us if it won't last. I bought Quanta and I just changed it to Fiamm late last year after using it for good four years and e still dey here, and I will only sell it when the price of dead batteries exceed 60k. Oya argue with your keypad! Again, wetin you no know pass wetin you know. Your eyes did not see where I said I was gonna buy a new power efficient deep freezer? That said, in your house una no get power efficient, bulbs, TV, sound system, inverter AC, fans etc abi. Well I have been using all of the aforementioned power-efficient appliances for many years now, the latest being an inverter AC, that is over 2years old, and was a waste of money at the end of the day, as I don't even use it with the inverter cos there are alternatives that are not as power hungry and I actively monitor my usage, cos what is key to me is to have electricity on demand, not to turn everything in the house on for fun. Sole source of energy is the sun? When did I say that. I said I COULD do that if I want to. We live in the freaking tropics with boku sunlight. Even in this rainy season all I need for one battery to be fully charged from low voltage by that one panel is 8-10 hours of peak sunlight. That is achievable in less than two days with good sunlight or 2days with touch and go. Chochocho, dey try calm down understand, rather than just argue for nothing sake. Something wey I dey use, wey no be even special thing na im this one dey argue on top. I had bought my inverter and batteries, and I only just recently added one 300w panel so I can benefit from the solar power as an alternative or to complement time of failure from the electricity grid! I sought to let peeps know that 'solar' doesn't have to cost million to own and setup with just a little planning. You can crawl, or walk even if you can't run. The Koko is to get to the destination. That is the simple point......and I still maintain even now, if you can be intentional you can have a solar setup that will serve you, and keep you comfortable and will be cheaper than fuelling a gen in these times. One solar panel, one good 200ah battery, solar charge controller (not mppt), one inverter will not cost more than 300k even today, and the battery is the most expensive item therein. Those wey go bite the bullet and think practical, can learn and do something about it. Those who will keep thinking it's when they have 5million they can use energy from the sun, no wahala. Those wey wan continue to dey fuel gen, no wahala. Those wey go move to neighborhoods or states with good electricity eg Osun state, no wahala too. Shikena! Una rambling is like a man telling another man that getting a car is not achievable because the only car in his mind is a Prado. Therefore, if he can't have enough money to buy a Prado, he can't have a car to move around with. Meanwhile, he is just simply closed minded, as there are several cars that his budget can buy fully functional with AC and everything, yea it may not have same ground clearance or 4wd as the Prado, but still a functional car nonetheless. That is a perfect analogy of una ramblings, you are just stuck on the Prado. Smh |
pocohantas:lol. Now let me play reverse psychology. 'Is it only me that feel some type of way when people claim they still have light 24/7 in this naija?' The question then becomes, just as you say can everyone get/afford solar (which I have shown they can), can everyone move or afford to move to your neighborhood to get that benefit of better power supply...is there even space..lol Which is more workable?? You know the answer, as do I. Cheers. |
I'm only sharing this and contributing to this particular topic so anyone thinkin in this line can see that it is doable and not be put off by cost. I don drop mic |
pocohantas:you didn't read my post. You didn't. I wrote that I already had an inverter with two batteries in use. A solar panel's job is just to suck photovoltaic energy from the sun and store it in the battery you connect it to. The size or quantity of panel only increase speed of charging. You can literally hook up a 20w solar panel to a 200ah battery and it will still get full, it may just take 20days, instead of 2 or less cos it is small compared to the battery. In the end na the batteries be the Koko, cos na the batteries dey store the energy, and even as batteries cost rish now, it is still more prudent to have an inverter and even add solar. One 300w solar panel mated to a 200ah battery beats fuelling generator for even 4hours daily at 600/l. Pick your poison/cost. |
pocohantas:lol..but it is. The fact that as of now nepa can take light for one month, and I will still watch TV and have light on demand says it is. At the end of the day, it is not solely about packing 20 panels to charge 12batteries that constitutes solar setup. As long as you can use the sun to generate electricity for your home electricity needs, you're good in my opinion. Buying 3 panels to charge one 200ah battery only offers one benefit, FASTER CHARGING! Once I get that energy efficient deep freezer, I can literally go off-grid if I want (but washing machine no go gree me🤣) Lights, TV, entertainment systems, mist fans over Air cons, phones, laptops, etc what else do we need power for in a home (I no talk business wey you wan carry me go oo). How is that not a solar setup..lol Main cost is batteries which is a trade-off..if you dont have to pay Nepa bills or on gen. Buy good batteries use for 3-4years, repeat. Anyway what I maintain is it is all about perspective. There is no rigidity with the science. Simply do the calc, and come up with a setup that works for you. It absolutely doesn't have to be mega. I know cos mine works for ME. |
pocohantas:lol Poco, Poco🤣 At the end of the day, a solution remains a solution, cost or not. You and sammyonal were saying something about solar not being affordable for everyone, cos it is expensive. Japa sef is more expensive, but guess what even a poor person can japa now...it just entails huge debt, but hey the end justifies the means, same with solar. You don't have to have a mega setup, you can come up with a setup that works for you. In my house, I only have two batteries. I have been using it that way for over 5 years, I no add batteries or create any mega setup, cos it is not necessary FOR ME, and i still have light on demand since I got that inverter setup as small as it is. This year, when light was terrible at some point (heck, even till now) I decided to add solar. Oya ask me say how much. Lol. I didn't break bank, I just bought one 300w panel and hooked it to a battery, as a sort of charging station, that way at every point in time, a battery is fully charged, and when full just swap with the other so it can charge kinda like swapping bottles on a water dispenser. Is it serving me? Hell yea! Did I break bank, Hell No! How much be my 'solar setup'? 50k pere. The only thing nepa is important for is my deep freezer, and the Inbetween light wey dem still dey give dey still do the work, and even that gan I go buy one 75w small size deep freezer like that wey I see for one of our church member house, and then I can fully say FU to Nepa if I want..lol OT and perspective matter gan babe, esp in this emilokan times. Imagine to dey sleep inside darkness or heat in this emilokan times..Omo!!! |
binnaobinna:wrong. I didn't say anyone was a good or bad guy. I did say I was connecting someone that needed some assistance with someone who has been going about with a gong as to how that particular assistance is possible, and a very very good bet. I also did say I have been around long enough to not take 'holier than thou' posts seriously, cos 9.9 times out of 10 if you focus in and beam a searchlight on people, you would typically be shell-shocked at the hypocrisy you would find 99.99% of the time. Thanks for your advice though. Cheers Ps: You haven't modified the 'crime-ridden' post you quoted. A VO on the prowl might see it, no? |
binnaobinna:first of, dial it down. If we check well, many people you know personally have probably done same or worse. I have come to not take 'holier than thou' posts seriously. Secondly, I sought to connect that person with someone who has been so loud on Nairaland for months now, about how even illegals can make a living even better than Nigerian CEOs. Check his post history and see for yourself.. and even aside him there are way more indicting posts on Nairaland, so that ship has looong sailed! You/people didn't have a problem with IbeOkehie saying this, but you have something to say about connecting someone who needs that particular help with HIM who has been screaming at the top of his lungs that what this person is seeking is very doable and even encourages everyone in Naija to do same. I was simply connecting someone with a problem to a person with a solution and has even toed same path (it now remains to see if talk will be cheap in this instance as usual or not). And yes, I'll repeat, the person I mentioned has been advocating for people to commit this so called 'crime' if that is what it takes to enter USA, but no furore from you, other members, the mods or anyone else....but when people act on 'by hook or crook japa oo' you still kick.. Shey day just break ni?? Lol . Moral of the lesson, Olurotimi modify your post by removing the preconceived decision to overstay. We all know that just about anyone who gets a visit visa to the US isn't planning on coming back, so it goes without saying...lol Now will the judges (including you) be kind enough to un-quote or modify his 'crime-ridden' quoted post ? Let's see. |
okewumi:the bolded is so illogical, that it is head spinning. I think you should have just left it at the parable, cos this line further dents your argument deeply. 'Come back to Naija and bounce back within some years'?? Perhaps you don't know, but this basically means you are strengthening the point that it is easier to recover loss, bounce back, gain footing in Nigeria...and this hurts your argument! 'Bounce back within some years because most are poor'?? This is as incoherent as can be. What is the link between bouncing back and how it is because most are poor?! 😒 You for just drop the parable waka, and those who will see the sense in it go still see am.....no need arguing/debating if it isn't your strong point. Cheers. |
IbeOkehie:olurotimi, this is the person I said you should link up with. He certainly can't airlift hundreds of people out of naija, but surely he appears capable enough to help just 1 person who has already put one foot through the door by securing a visit visa. I really hope this works out for you all. My work here is done.
|
Firefox01:no lele. Make she just link up with IbeOkehie. He is one Nairalander who is very very vocal about how even illegals can make a great life in the USA. He has toed this path successfully and can show her the ropes so she doesn't see any shege...maybe he'll be gracious enough to offer free accommodation till she gets her footing. A little help can go a long way, and I KNOW he CAN help. So Olurotimi do well to act on this and ASK him (DM or mention his monicker), you never know oo. |
E remain Jada. She is still waiting for Will Smith money to compound well well before she strikes. All the women in this Steve Harvey life jus dey share kpekus. His daughter is sharing kpekus sotey when MBJ wan wife am she run say she still wan run street more. Now even the wife join share kpekus give domestic staff sef. A lesson that money, fine suits, fame, sense of humor (bros na comedy icon imagine), and even a well-moisturised moustache ain't gonna keep the average female who don chop western ideology tire...No doubt about it, fewer and fewer men in the west will be interested in marriage. As of now, ain't no benefit for the men, only the women benefit. Imagine wrecking a dude, breaking his heart and taking 200m of his hard earned money. This fine heifer is one cold bitchhhh. We still dey enjoy for here on top this marriage levels aswear |
Zahra29:she/they are already neck deep in the lies and deceit. She/they might as well go all the way. |
deepwater:you dey mind the fooools. Smh |
1Sharon:lol. I know you well for these Nairaland streets na haba. Did you watch the video, and the accounts of those people, especially the one that they said sleeps in buses. You mean to tell me that person would rather be homeless than take up a shift in a care home? Haven't you been reading cases of people in the living in UK thread about the same thing? You forgot the guy that shared his experience too that sparked a debate on that thread, the guy who said he came with three months worth of money to get by but no shifts and he had almost finished hemorrhaging the funds, and some said he didn't plan well enough while others rightly said three months worth of living expenses coming on a work visa was good enough planning. You don't remember that guy? Are they all lying? |
ednut1:that one sure die🤣😁 Imagine o. Just about a year in the country as a student. Her bro/sis sef fit dey among my pipo for Nairaland wey dey use am as case study of how you can build seven houses within a year moving to UK. Hijab no remove crime for this one body. Shioor |
ednut1:as we type, someone here on Nairaland is paying or in the process of paying even more than that £10k, cos pound is 1100 and also cos of his/her children's future. So with all this info which isn't so new, would you blame the next victim(s) or the agents or the govts?.. Awon my case is different crew. |
