You are just being mischievous pineed....
All the so called academic docs from CSU you say are in public domain, do not say Ahmed! What they all say is Bola A Tinubu. Don't distort the facts.
Not like I care anymore, but I felt it necessary to point that out, seeing as you are harping on that point, albeit an inaccurate one.
There is no AHMED written on any of those credentials in circulation including the transcript.

nairalanda1: 1.Egypt has a diversified economy, not the oil economy APC has put us under.
2.Angola has a serious debt problem, and a massive fuel smuggling issue. Plus their populaiton is not up to 50 million
3.Algeria has a diversified economy as well. Not the APC oil dependent economy we have.
4.Libya?
Libya produces slightly more oil than we do and has
1.8-10 million people compared to our 200 million people
2.Thus more revenue per capita than we do
3.So they can afford subsidy.
4.And...they have a bad smuggling problem that they are resorting to airstrikes to fight the fuel smugglers. Yes, it is that bad.
Nigeria, especially after 8 years of APC rule is so bad that we cannot afford subsidy. Maybe when we vote in a government that would diversify our economy, and improve tax collection and not pretend fuel is cheap...and no it is not this current government we have, we can get somewhere.
Also, Lexy, if you want subsidy, meet your senator and agi...no wait, Tinubu has heard your cry and brught you subsidy. So, as a tinubu supporter you should be happy. As someone who is a realist and is apolitical, I am pissed.
Now, I want you to keep on asking me questions again and again.

According to you (numerous times), the stealing is insignificant in the grand scheme of things...or you want screenshots. Screenshots dey if you want. Even your statement which I quoted ,you were still harping on that same thing, that subsidy was hemorrhaging the budget, hence, my decision to show you proof it wasn't so at least in 2011-2012, and to also show you the stealing that clearly was hemorrhaging the budget, by showing just 1 person! nairalanda1: Because we spent a large chunk of that revenue from the 100 dollars per barrel to pay for subsidies
Even then GEJ wanted to remove it. You his supporters and the opponents like Tinubu said no. at the bolded, these facts say otherwise. Diezani one person, stole more than the whole subsidy payment for a year even using the prevailing exchange rate at that time, but you've sworn that corruption is just small fry. Not to mention, the exchange rate was managed and manageable at the time so even despite years of high crude oil prices our lives didn't get turned upside down, but fast forward to 2023 you Harvardus economists somehow believe that floating the naira and removing subsidies in one fell swoop is a great idea..and when we tell you the corruption and mismanagement are the real issues you say subsidy is the monster...as if the subsidies on diesel, kerosene that were removed solved anything. Ok o remove subsidy, but why repeat the same trick of 2015/16 by a stupid naira float alongside that in an economy like this with zero shocks.. the stupid misfire evidently did not work as that pushed rates into the 500's then before it settled at the 360's or thereabout. The same clueless Emefoole tricks na im dem still dey actively replay in 2023 after all the castigating. I know say you no go accept lailai, so this point and the screenshots are just to remind some nairalanders who may have forgotten the events of yester-years not to get carried away with big big English and remind themselves of a little history

Eriokanmi: Oga oo. Aren't you tired of being deceived? You guys tagged the information fake news a few weeks ago when the information first leaked out. Nigeria won't move forward if you keep defending this party's lies.
I remember in 2015, buhari said subsidy was a scam and he'd never pay it. Later, he begged Nigerians to be patient as things would soon improve so, we should allow him increase pump price as he's not paying subsidy.
Later, he increased it again and people began to react. They now said they were paying something but not subsidy per se. You should stop defending this madness cos you'd not be spared in the consequences of their lies.
When some of us condemned the sudden and utter removal of the subsidy when Tinubu came, you guys said it was the right move and now, we're suffering the consequences. Meanwhile Angola, another oil rich nation only did partial removal but before they did, they had provided palliatives like gej did years back. You know what the dollar is saying now bros, the mistake you are making here is assuming you are discussing this with a reasonable person. If something is black, it is black and only capable of being black. End of! |

LordAdam16: It is a combination of reasons.
The bottom line though is that he naively expected the FX rate to fall at first to its current rate, then strengthen over time to 600-650. If that had happened, we'd be having a different conversation. Obviously that did not happen, so he bears full responsibility for the error.
-Lord I said this multiple times here...see the most recent below in August here Treadway: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-08-09/nigerian-naira-drops-to-record-as-black-market-dollar-rate-soars
We warned and warned, but y'all didn't listen. The chimps up there have learnt nothing from 2015/2016 when Buhari made this same shitty call to remove subsidy and float naira in one fell swoop in a country like Nigeria. Now they have successfully FAILED, yet again. A move from officiall/parallel rates of 450/720 to 750/1000(in a few days) is a very successful FAILURE. Smh You simply do not remove subsidy and float the naira at the same gaddem time. They attempted the exact thing in 2015/16 and it didn't work. But the leaders no gree learn from history, they and some Nairaland economists from Harvardus. Shioor. |

yolkman20: Hello everyone, Please I need advice. I'm in a situation and i need advice on how to opt out. So my uncle wife took advantage of my wife because of too much respect. (wifey bleeped up big time). We recently moved close to them because she's the one who helped us with COS. She recommended a cooking pot (salad master) as we needed to set up the house and kitchen, but i declined immediately after i heard the price (4200 pound DD payment for 4years for 5pcs set.) During the chat, i discovered she'll get about 500quid referral and thats why she's desperate for us to buy it. The discussion happend about 3 other times and my response was no. My uncle got involved at a point and he also supported her wife because that's what they use too but i insisted. Then she turned to my wife and start to convince her but we'd already discussed and it was a NO. Fast forward to a month after, my wife was in their house sleeping, she then woke her up only for her to see the pot has been supplied, and they were already cooking with it for her induction and to use it. In the prescense of the supplier, my wife tried telling her we've already discussed this many times and we were not interested but she cut her and told her since they were already cooking with it, we cant opt out. She couldnt call me because she wasn't with her phone. She ensured all the paper works was done and DD was set before she let her near her phone. My wife has so much regard for her and that's why she couldn't say NO. Too much respect...
I got to know that day and i got mad at her, how can you let her lure you into a 4k financial engagement despite several discussions, she just dey cry and she was preggy....
I immediately told her to come take the pot but the supplier said no way, DD has been set and there's no going back)(dey don plan am.) Bleep up i did was, i should've rang the company directly but i just gave up because i dont want issues between me and egbon. Now, COS no get shift, there's no work in cardiff at all and all the load is on me. DD is 94quid per month and it's choking.
Here is my question, is there anything i can do to opt out legally? we're 6 months into the contract and it feels like forever, i dont mind losing 1k just to opt out, but i dont wanna do this no more... We can't afford with the all the bills and expenses we already have.
It's tiring and i'm getting tired.... I look forward to ya'lls suggestions Omo you go fear hustle oo...all for 500pounds.🤣🤣🤣 So wait, you are actually having sleepless nights about this why?? Cos you didn't put your foot all the way down when it mattered! This story is kinda like Uncle held your hand and wanted to put it in a fire, I would have expected you'd yank your hands clear off. No disrespect in self-preservation. They bought it, they should pay for it. I don't care if the uncle was part of those who gave me one of my names, I ain't gonna pay one penny! So you dey actually pay..lol. It is well.🤣 |
