Episode 6

The only person in the world that still had faith in the good in Ryder was Mrs Smithe even Ryder didn't believe in himself, At 18 Ryder felt he was a useless human being just like whoever his father was , the habit of stealing must run through his veins as most people actually said, he was owing gambling debt of 4300 Gcs to several thugs and some bars , Mrs Smithe had begged on his behalf some four months ago when he was being prepared to be lynched after he was caught trying to pull off a dirty trick against a stern old merchant trader in a gambling match, she cried and begged for him pleading she'll pay the debt slowly through her wages , the merchant and the thug agreed with her and let Ryder go , eversince then Ryder hadn't gambled again up until that summer Mrs Smithe had saved up 700gc to pay some of his debt, her daughter felt a bit Ill and she couldn't leave treating her to go and meet up with the merchant and sent Ryder on the errand not before reminding him that this money was gotten through alot of sweat and hard work and also a bit of starvation on the part of the family and begged him for so long not to do anything stupid, Ryder assured her soberly that he won't deep down he believed that he wouldn't, getting to the merchant's residence he was told he had gone to Gorgon valley to finish some business Ryder for whatever reason decided to go to Gorgon valley and meet him in the said bar.
Ryder got to Gorgon valley and met his biggest temptation they were gambling almost everywhere, Ryder had been in Gorgon before on numerous occasions but he had never gambled there . He decided to give it a shot with just 50gc to his amazement he kept on winning although he was cheating he was using various famous Middleton west cheating techniques and was wining up on till one of the gamblers asked to search him , he was shocked as he never knew of the Gorgon valley rule of fair checking he was caught with several hidden cards and was stripped of all his wealth including his errant money , Ryder cried, begged and pleaded sorrowfully but no one would listen to him he was then thrown out of the bar. Time had passed and it was soon getting dark for some reason Ryder saw himself observing a fat man who was walking very slowly on the road side with his sack clothed pocket by his side the noise it made each time he moved helped Ryder calculate about how much the man had, Ryder made a desperate move and hijacked the man's wallet and started running , The fear of facing Mrs. Smithe who had been so kind to him was so overwhelming than the fear of death itself, he even felt better to commit suicide than confront Mrs Smithe who had loved him so dearly infact the only person in the world that believed in his useless ass ,soon it looked like the whole community was at his tail everyone with torch wood ready to Lynch him alive.
Ryder ran so fast that he didn't know when he ended up in the bushy lands were Gorgon valley buried their dead , some followed him in and hurriedly left in fear and tales of the night life of the cemetery, Ryder was unaware of this and ran deep into the forest until he noticed he was all alone he passed the night in the cemetery were he had the weirdest dream now that he remembers he hasn't lost a gamble ever since that almost horrible day.
"when last did you have your bath" Cassey Mrs Smithe daughter asked interrupting Ryder's thinking,
while closing his room door
"you disappear for two weeks and appear with so much food and money you know you have mama worried"
she said again when she noticed Ryder wasn't going to answer the first question.
"Cassey leave me be am more than tired we'll do catch up tomorrow" Ryder said while turning his face to the other side of his bed to continue his sleep.

Episode 5

25 years ago baby Ryder was abandoned by the doorstep of an average family in Middleton west , a new couple that were just starting a life together Mr and Mrs Smithe , they enquired about the parents and found out that the mother had left the village the day she abandoned the child her name was Samantha.
Samantha was a victim of rape or rather the victim of the then infamous four is trouble thieves that ravaged Middleton west at that time, contrary to their name they were 11 in total and they were fearless thieves they stole killed and raped their victims they even set houses on fire , back then shivers went down the spines of everyone when they heard that the four is trouble thieves were in town, rumors has it that they were payed a huge amount by the then to be mayor during his campaign, and ever since he got he elected those many years ago there hasn't been any sign of them ever since.
Well Ryder was that bastard child in the community everyone hated he was always reminded of who he's father could be each time he was in public, but Mr and Mrs Smithe protected him and cared for him so very much , when he was eight years old the smithe's had their first child after several years of trying the family was overjoyed, Mr Smithe decided to partner with his uncle who owned a gold mine the biggest in their country they seemed set for wealth up until two years later Mr Smithe was murdered and his death was covered up by the government , who had their eyes on his uncles gold mine Mrs Smithe was taxed of everything she had leaving her bankrupt she savaged just enough to keep the house , not too long after Mr. Smithe uncle was also murdered and the death covered up in the same fashion as Mr Smithe , It was glaring evil committed by the government but with her being so low on funds to afford a lawyer and also the fear of endangering her family she decided to let go of it all.
At 16 Ryder was a riffraff who stole to gamble and when he was caught cheating most times he would be stripped off everything and thrown out , he had developed a bad gambling addiction he would often steal from his Guardian Mrs Smithe who was a accountant at a nearby farm and go off to gamble in order to pay the thugs he was owing and make a living , he often lost it all and would hide in the streets afraid to go back home. But there's always A Mrs Smithe looking for him asking every gambling bar she knew and every thug she had seen around Ryder , she eventually finds him sober and beaten up very late at night too beaten up that every little anger she had remaining about his thievery was gone, his clothes were torn eyes swollen with bleedings from his nose and legs he was always left in a miserable state.

Episode 4

"What are their crimes" one of the judges asked the police man who accompanied them to Trial center, The judges were Three aged men in total all dressed in normal outfits nothing special apart from the fact that they all had a large pipe of cigarettes in their hands and the one that asked the police man the question was constantly taking a sip of his pipe.
"They were arrested sir cause one of them was cheating" the police man said
"I see" said the judge once again while blowing smoke into the air
"if I may sir " Ryder said while removing his hat from his head
"Ryder !! I knew you'll come visit me again I have missed you what took you so long" the judge said amusingly
"Get those cuffs off him" the judge said with a loud voice
the police men looked a bit confused
"don't make me repeat myself or I'll blow your heads off!" he said while bringing out his gun from his drawer
Ryder was released from the cuffs and was given a chair and some coffee as ordered by the judge he later proceeded to explain to the judges all that had happened at bar victorious,
"so you don't have proof to link any of the mysterious deaths to them" the judge said
"yes unfortunately the little kid altered the plan I had set in place , I have been studying them for so long , I had even recreated the cards they used at the bar , but unfortunately I saw this kid there and I couldn't rid my mind of letting him die" Ryder replied
"well you know I can't persecute them for a crime without no evidence, the least I can do is put them behind bars long enough to allow you investigate" The judge responded
" Aren't you going to hear our side of the story ! , I demand fair hearing!" one of the thugs shouted from the back
and fair hearing you shall get
"unshackle him and that boy
the two of you are going to have a duel , you win you and your fellow can leave here freely " the judge said with a high pitched voice
"you lose and you go greet my ex wife grandson at that jail for 7 years" still with a high pitched voice
"infact whoever loses does term for 7 years " he said this time while fixing his gaze on Thuck
"how old are you teenager " he asked
"am 17 sir" Thuck replied quickly
"maybe by 24 you might understand life a little bit better" The judge said almost as quick as Thuck replied
"that's my verdict"
"I didn't just help that kid to have him face this, look at him he's all beaten up I think he's learnt his lesson" Ryder pleaded on Thuck's behalf
"hahaha Ryder you know better than anyone that there's only one way to learn a lesson in Gorgon valley" the judge said
" It's okay Mr Ryder I can handle this , am ready " Thuck said confidently
Ryder takes the cards of the desk and hands it over to the police men who were to serve as dealers , he patted Thuck on the back wishing him good luck before proceeding back to his sit,
"Get us some beers now will you" The judge said to the standby police men excitedly
the judges and Ryder both sat together watching Thuck outsmart the thug every possible way each round,
"He reminds me of you all those many years ago he's a very smart kid" the Judge said
"He's nothing like me I've always cheated right from the day my mother gave birth to me" Ryder replied while holding a beer in his hand
"I even cheated while in her belly , I heard she tried aborting me several times" Ryder said giggling
"it's funny how you make jokes of those sort of things, am sure she'll be proud of you if she knew the man you had become" the judge responded
"I don't blame her though who would want a child that would remind them that they were raped and her family were killed by those same rapists or thieves whatever they were" Ryder said this time while transitioning from almost laughing to trying to hold back his bitter emotions as hard as possible
"and now that all your chips are mine I guess it's game over" Thuck said very loudly interrupting Ryder's speech and gaining their attention
"Very well then " Ryder said while carrying the box of coins on the table and approaching the exit
"till we meet again Ryder, we do still have alot to talk about ,I know I'll be seeing you soon"
Ryder and Thuck are escorted out of the trial center
"here's your box kid" Ryder said
"and here's your card back" Thuck replied with a smirky stare at Ryder
"you didn't use it" Ryder said looking a bit amazed
"I don't cheat plus your good luck was also not necessary, I don't believe in such things" Thuck said in a way that it looked like he was flattering himself
"wishing me good luck and poking four aces into my sleeve while your judge friend was looking not such a nice idea" Thuck added
"He cared less if you had used it, plus you allowed me cheat on your behalf so don't go holy on me now" Ryder said in an argumentative manner
"that different" Thuck replied
"there's nothing different in this life we have got to do everything necessary to win or else we won't be able to survive against those doing everything possible not to lose" Ryder said like he was advising Thuck
"thanks for all your help , please take this" Thuck said while pulling off his clothing and pouring alot of coins into it wrapped it up and gave Ryder
"I know this won't be enough to thank you for your assistance cause without you i won't even have any left" Thuck said
Ryder smiles and takes the cloth
"stay safe boy , gamble wisely this is Gorgon valley" Ryder said while signalling a commercial horse
Ryder offers the man 100Gcs for his horse , the man is more than overjoyed while giving Ryder his horse
"okay pal how about wolly, get it your new name is wolly"Ryder says while patting the horse's neck
Ryder rides wolly into a restaurant orders a buffet of food ties the load to wolly and rides for two hours till he arrives at middinton west the village where he grew up.


™ Ryder is home now ,yea home is what he calls the house of a widow with one child who took care of him ever since he was dumped there as a child, but Ryder isn't safe yet remember the *customers at the back* and that forth thug that left during the gamble well they are after Ryder and this time they mean business, what will happen next ??

Episode 3
Everywhere was silent in the bar so silent that you could hear the footsteps of people walking outside even the footsteps of horses also sounds of the friction between wheels of carriages and the ground could be heard clearly. Ryder busted into laughter thereby changing the serenity of the atmosphere he said " there there now let's not get too hasty a gun battle, would definitely lead the sheriff here in no time and gosh I won't want that to happen am already wanted for 5 murders", "hahaha you 5 murders is that supposed to scare me, me I've lost count of my kills" one of the thugs boasted. " I toast to that why don't we have one last duel then(sometimes gambles where referred to as duels) all the money in this box against the change all you guys have, the last thing I want is to see that good old sheriff again",
at this point the first thug had only 750gold coins left while the second and third both had 920GCs each, They held a brief meeting while the other customers at their back guarded Ryder and Thuck, They concluded that it wasn't a bad idea for them to have a last duel ,In a case they won they could avoid noise which could cause unnecessary attention and in a case they lost they could always result back to their plan B , They turned towards Ryder and Thuck , Thuck looked a bit like a ghost beside Ryder he must have probably never seen a gun his whole life oh well welcome to Gorgon valley if you don't see a gun in a week no matter the business you are doing its probably because you are dead.
They answered game on while going for their sits , Ryder told Thuck to come open the box on the table Thuck thought it had locked up , he brought his key and bent near Ryder as if to open it , then Ryder whispered to him get ready. he was very nervous he thought to himself get ready for what he also thought to himself whether Ryder actually spoke cause his voice was very faint, he saw the box wasn't even locked and opened it while going to his sit , the other thugs gave the signal to the customers at the back and the bartender to get into their acting positions, the customers at the back took their sits again then Ryder ordered for a drink while still on his feet , as soon as the bartender arranged the tray leaving were her shot gun was Ryder grabbed the box of coins and ran through the costumers at the back for the exit , immediately Thuck followed him with his heart in his mouth as he now understood the meaning of the get ready .Ryder had deduced that there was no way they were getting out of there alive , with the brief chat he had with them he understood what their game was if they couldn't get the money legally they would take it from their opponents and kill them so as to prevent them from reporting, not to long after the thugs are behind them shooting and running after them , Ryder carrying the heavy box of coins that keeps on pouring out is way ahead of Thuck even with the extra load, Ryder keeps on taking bends at each corner Thuck tries as much as possible to keep up but he can't stop himself from looking back each time each time he sees a bullet fly past him and hit something, each time he looked back he would see the thugs getting closer to him , Ryder leads them into corners he takes one turn then another turn then another then another turn Thuck looks back to see the thug gaining on him so close he turns front again only to see Ryder has vanished, Ryder was so ahead of him before but now he can't even see Ryder and there are three path ways in his front which does he pick , he picks his left and kept running in that direction till he met a dead end and was cornered by the thugs he was beaten severely as they kept on asking him about the whereabouts of Ryder, at this point Thuck is moved to tears not only because of the beating he's taking but also because of the thought of him being so foolish to trust Ryder who was clearly another type of them , I mean he had killed five people before and now he just ran away with all his Fortune, he was dragged up by one of the thugs as the two other proceeded to hold his arms and his shoulders as he almost couldn't move his body and he was then dragged towards the third thug who is bent towards Thuck's head holding a knife up,
"Where is Ryder" the thug asked as he moves the pocket knife towards Thuck
He cuts a necklace Thuck was wearing and held it up
"okay lets leave Ryder alone, you are going to take us to where you brought all this fine jewels and coins from am sure we'll see something of value or would you rather I cut you piece by piece instead" he said while pressing the knife softly against Thuck's ear
Two loud motors bringing out so such exhaust stopped by them only two people in that country had such a vehicle the mayor and the infamous sheriff , three officers came out then the sheriff

he looked old like a man in his late 50s
he had little combs of white hair on his head which made him look half bald he was of average height and always well dressed in Sheriff uniform he also spoke with a strong country accent

It is said that you don't see him pull out his gun or see him shoot all you hear is the noise of his gun and him returning it to his gun pocket.

just as the sheriff highlighted from the vehicle , "Bruttwane" one of the thugs shouted in a fearsome rhetorical question like way and made a run for it, the thug jumped on a dumpster then jumped and placed his hands on the fence of the building causing the dead end, PoooooooArw "Bruttwane my name alright" he said returning his gun to the gun pocket as the thug body fell off the building and unto the dumpster before hitting the ground, nobody saw him draw his weapon or even shoot , as soon as the other thugs saw this they left Thuck alone at this moment.
"Sheriff we doing no wrong, only punishing this scum who wanted to cheat us" one of the thugs said trying to imitate country accent.
"don't try to imitate me , I know you ain't country and on the offense of cheating that was the crime you've been accused of" he said while pointing towards his motor and then Ryder stepped out with a sweaty and more rough looking look, Thuck saw Ryder he was filled with so much joy he closed his eyes briefly to thank his father's spirit which he had prayed to.
"in as much as I would want to shoot these scum bags and in as much as i trust you Ryder you know I have to take you all to the judges to decide who's guilty" he said
" I understand Mr. Bruttwane they don't say you love the law for nothing, plus we are all guilty in this world all they decide is who is innocent" stretching forth his hands for handcuffs.
the other police men rallied round all the thugs and cuffed them including the one that was injured and unconscious and yes Thuck was also arrested and they were all taken and driven to the Gorgon trial center.
The thing is Ryder had taken it upon himself to bring any illegal gambling outfit to book and he had been investigating bar victorious for two weeks after he heard several mysteries of people missing involving that place , he had previously tipped the sheriff about it , and also given the sheriff a safe location to wait for a whole day , Ryder had brought down bigger illegal gambling outfits which made the sheriff so popular in town , the sheriff loved Ryder and never distrusted him the sheriff followed through with his plan and thus the following result.
