There are a lot of used batteries and other appliances in the markets that are well polished and packaged to look like new.
At this critical time, buying products from a known/reliable source that's willing to take full responsibility of the products throughout the warranty periods is what we need.

No gimmicks, to the best of my knowledge. Just that it's a new name so they had to drop low to get customers.

Today I explored the 60a mppt charge controller and adjusted some settings.

Brought charging current from 100% (60a) to 34% (20a).

Please check the attached images to see if anything is out of place especially the bulk and float charging voltages.

Battery type should not be GEL if you are using tubular batteries.

my professionally coupled 12v 105ah 1,344kwh lithium battery with 100A Bluetooth bms is 350k to 400k, with over 10 to 12yrs lifespan.

There is tubular of 280k in the market though.

Honestly. I have seen Will Prowse on YT say his sachet inverter does up to 90%+. I am beginning to wonder if the low idle current is worth it with such DC|AC efficiency.


Batteries are Gel.

My sachet inverter when pulling about 600va AC load, draws about 1kva DC power. That's about 60% conversion efficiency. Ambient temps was in the high 30°s though.

Has anybody actually measured their DC to AC conversion efficiency? I'ld like to know what they got. 🤔

This analysis is applicable to those who want to freeze their rooms with 16°C temperature.
My parlor AC is 1.5hp consumed 1.2kw and I used it mostly during the day at 20°C.
My room AC is 1hp consumed 1kw and I used it mostly at night with the temperature range of 26°C to 28°C consuming 500w max and I still woke up to see 50 60% of my battery left.
We know how to manage RE.

Buck converter is the cheapest way to improve your yield, or buy an MPPT controller.

Hi,

You only have limitations with bigger solar panels if your control is a PWM. If it's MPPT you are using you can use the 300w panels.

But for your system design as a whole, your panels total capacity is very limited for the load you intend to power. I'll advice atleast 4 units of that 300w. Ideally it should be about 6 units

Most UPS are modified sine wave inverters. That's just the major minus. Every other thing na plus.

I think it's even square wave signals those UPS output.

And you are good.

You can add a DC fan even.

If you are doing everything yourself, it should not cost more than maybe 300k to 400k to setup.


There are some mobile power banks that will serve you very well, but you said you don't want that.

Rather than DC cables , buy normal Aluminium cables down the street. Just ask for made-in-Nigeria. DC cables might a bit better, but the extreme steep price doesn't make sense for such small setUp. Such extra funds could be channeled into getting more Solar panels, or a better charge controller (probably MPPT, rather than PWM)

if your FANs happens to be rechargeable fans, and your TV happens to use external adapter, you could get away with not using any inverter at all BUT if buying inverter, would suggest buying one which supports at least 12v & 24v. That way, you could upgrade to 24-volts system without having to change the inverter.

For such small setUp, you need skip most unnecessary accessories such as mounting rails, etc

would suggest buying normal transformer based inverters. I only used to favour and/ or recommend sachet inverters when they were very cheap. Nowadays, I rather buy a used no-Sachet inverter, than buy a brand new sachet inverter.

Also, abeg buy a seperate charge controller. No go buy inverter with baked-in charge controller. when one goes bad, the other becomes unUsable. Also you never get same result when using them dedicated.

Rather than buy an inverter, you could buy a used UPS which should cost less than 10,000 naira. That might not be up to 1KVA but it sure would carry your FANs + TV without stress.

if you could afford it, buy DC (rechargeAble) Fans.

Abeg if you must buy an inverter, buy nothing short of pureSineWave

Don't buy solar generator, if your fridge is around 100watts, get modified sine wave Inveter of 3kv (price is around 70k) and your 750k will be enough to set it up. Ensure that you have circuit breaker installed on your system btw

And your fridge can't be on power at all time because it will drain your battery. No solar gen of 750k can run your fridge 247

Just be sure of your source's expertise and integrity.

It took me a lot of stress before I found where I could get correct capacity panels. Then I decided to start selling to help plug that gap of fake capacity panels.

This is a side hustle for me as I have a day job.

But, I have noticed most buyers would rather go for cheaper panels or close price but higher label capacity. And they usually turn out to be relabelled ones. 🙂

But getting a brand new one of same make and specs as the existing ones is the best option, if money is not a problem.

Use a projector to beam, then broadcast the sound via FM transmitter. Just come with your phone with an FM inbuilt and use your earpiece to listen. Then small speakers to give some ambient sound but not too much noise to disturb the area.
