Guys, I am a bit confused about this new WAEC WES thing. Do they need both the WAEC scratch card and the WAEC result (from WAEC) or one of either. Is it enough to send just a scratch card or get WAEC to send your results? Or you have to do both? Pls help.
Thanks.

Hi -

1. Log into CIC account
2. Go to "Link an Existing Application to this Account"
3. Choose Category: Permanent Resident Card
4. Input your UCI number and family name (that works). Also, date applied is the date you were stamped in on your CoPR (i.e. landing date).

I read here that once the PR card is approved, you will get a notification that your profile has been updated. You will be able to see the PR card details in your CIC profile.

I hope this helps...?
Very helpful. Thanks very much.

I had this same question prior to (short) landing, let me just share my experience and lessons learnt.

When we landed, the officer asked for an addy, i told him i will send it later online but he insisted i gave him one even if it was temporary, that i can change it later within a 3 week period. He also gave me a number to call to do so. The number always directed me to an answering machine that "everyone is busy i should raise a CSE" and then after two weeks of callls, i raised a CSE for me and my spouse (Copy paste same message) to update the address and we both got auto-response mails from cic a few seconds later.

I linked my PR card application to my cic and got an email when it was approved. A few days later, My wife got an email (her address on the email was the new address) about sending another passport. So i am thinking, since her address was updated, then mine must be updated as well right? WRONG!!

After another two weeks of no pr card, contacted CIC to ask when and what addy they sent my Pr card. Turns out it was the first addy i gave at POE. Anyways, any system with humans will be prone to errors.

So it's best to keep it simple. If you already have someone that can keep it safe for you, just give them that addy right away. I know someone that gave an address with a different province at POE and no issues (This was after my case though).

If you don't have that address, then maybe raise a CSE and request they acknowledge the change of addy.

Then link your PR card so you know in time when things start to go south.
Pls how do you link the PR card application and how does it work.?

Hello People,

Please for those that have landed and carried USD cash I have a question; Please did your bank accept the USD when u opened an account, if yes. What rate did they convert your USD to CAD. Otherwise what is the best way to convert your USD to CAD when one lands, I know say them no get black market like Naija .
CIBC opens a USD account for you along with the CAD accounts and you can then transfer from you USD account to your CAD account when needed or when the rate is suitable. You can transfer via online banking ( takes 24hrs) or at the bank (is immediate).
Hope this helps.

Ps - I never chk the rates Sha, I just transfer when needed. The rates are always reasonable, in my opinion.

Your cell phone bill or credit card statement or bank statement can be used as proof of address.
Oh I See. Thanks for the info.
In that case it is advisable to sort out bank account before going for the health card.

Am just trying to figure out the right/most advisable sequence for processing/getting the following:
1.) Mobile Phone
2.) SIN
3.) Bank account
4.) Health insurance (Ontario)
5.) Accomodation ( I will be staying with family for the first three weeks)

Please feel free to add anyone I'm missing.

Thanks.

You're welcome Ma and yes, rent/lease agreement or building purchase document can suffice for proof of residence. What I listed are just examples and not exhaustive, all the best ahead.
When you say "Permanent Resident Card", do you mean the actual card or will the COPR suffice? Do you have to wait till the card is ready?

and for the proof of address, does it have to be something in your name? what if you are staying with family for the first few weeks and so will not have any lease documents as at then? what is the best way to go about getting a proof of address? apart from Driver's Licence.

Good day all, I have been a silent follower of this thread. I'm here to share my arrival journey in Canada on 23rd September 2017.
Journey started Friday 22nd, used Egypt air was very skeptical about them but they surprised me with their service and flight to Cairo and Toronto was very smooth (I was given express check in at both airport cos I'm pregnant and had an active 3yrs old also). The flight to Toronto was extremely long and tiring but Egypt air hostesses made sure I was comfy, assisted me with extra pillows, blanket, hot tea, snacks and even told me to relax on 2seats that were vacant.
Immediately we got to Toronto, hubby and I started running towards immigration cos we had a connecting flight to Calgary in 3hrs. Immigration process was smooth and fast cos we were one of the ist to reach there, proceeded to customs, experienced thrashing of goods, some even searched documents. I started praying seriously our bags shouldn't be searched (3check in bags and 3hand luggage) cos it will waste time. the custom's guy noticed I was pregnant cos my hubby told him so I can have a seat and my son was over the place. We listed all the goods and value that we are importing before we got to the airport so he just stamped and gave us clearance form. None of our bags were opened, it can only be God
We basically ran from terminal 1 to 3 for the next flight which was long journey, got there just about check in was closing ( missing flight would have cost us extra 300CAD, Choi). Arrived safely at Calgary and a friend came to pick us. Starting search for a house today and other plenty stuffs.
Thank God for a smooth arrival and wish those yet to come a safe and smooth arrival also
Thank God for a safe and hassle free journey.

Please is there a template for listing your goods? What information is required in the list? I'd be happy to get a reply from anyone that knows. Thanks.

Hi, I've made a little enquiry and found that since Abuja is the Head quarters, that's where it is issued from. It's free of charge and they used to send the hard copy by DHL to people free as well but I guess the cost put paid to that. There are claims that people are getting it for as high as N20,000.00 in Lagos but I've not been able to confirm where and how true. For now, I think it's best you make enquiry at the Zonal Command close to you or get your family/friends in Abuja to pick it up and send to you. If I get more details, I'll surely share it.
Thanks very much for the info. Much appreciated.
