Is this a federal school?
Foreign AffairsRe: Egypt Court Orders Youtube Blocked For A Month by trix1:
maclatunji: Predictable comment. Education is key for the misled- Freedoms have limitations, I seriously don't know the kind of teaching that is done in secondary schools these days.

Whoever teaches you about 'rights' should also teach you about 'limitations to rights'.
You seem to be very happy with this Judgement.
Speaking about rights/opinions, I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion, no matter how twisted. An American citizen made a video about his opinion that was legal in his country why is this giving Muslims in Egypt constipation?? Why are they calling for his head?
So he should keep quiet because of people in another country?

"What would Muhammad think?" "In all honesty, he would have probably chosen a wife from one of them." was blasphemous enough to cos riots and a change in venue of Miss world beauty pageant, and yet El Rufai only retweeted something he saw.

You need to have more tolerance for people who do not have the same belief with you!!

To avoid being banned, please ensure that your

and yet they were awarded a soft penalty against Burkina Faso. How about the abismal performance they put up against cape verde? Besides, Mali still trashed them

inufele2: In a normal society will you ever see a convicted thief being bold enough to comment on politics or being granted such an audience? Only in Nigeria!
Convicted thief?
The seven-count charge that carried a sentence of two years each, bordered on abuse of office; while the 28-count charge that carried a sentence of 6 months each, was on willful disobedience to lawful authority.

Notwithstanding, Does the fact that he has been convicted before mean what he just said is false?
PoliticsRe: APC, Party Of Teenagers – Bode George by trix1: 9:32am On Feb 11, 2013
All those who are abusing Bode George, what exactly has he said that isn't true?

Are these parties not mainly tribal parties?

Can you please show us the common ground these parties have? the only thing they seem to have in common is their dream to beat PDP in the presidential race.

And showing Generators in that video was unnecessary. The President NEVER said power was stable. My area has been hooked up to the Afam power grid, and power has improved greatly

chiover: . Are ok at all? Is selling of fuel in bottle a legalised trade?? Get up dude there is no better adjective to replace black marketers
HAH:

Don't display you ignorance here, if not in jerrycans where do you want them to put kerosine to, cars ? Or you expect everyone to carry his stove or firewood to the station. Common
chiover: . Are u sure dat u knw d meaning of ignorance? Is dis report we are digesting about consumers or black marketers? Selling of fuel(kerosine)in bottles and jerrycans started during the reign of Sani Abacha during the 1994\95 scarcity. The police and army were busy arresting the so called jerrycan\bottles fuel dealers(black marketers). Ask ur mum for briefing if u were not born then
So they sold kerosene in stoves and lanterns before 1994/95?

ichommy: This according to our sources, led to a disagreement with the attendants and black marketers against the security personnel and beat three of them while the fourth received knife cuts.

Efforts to contact the state Commandant of the NSCDC, however, proved abortive as he was not on seat while his phone was unreachable

However, one of the senior officials of the corps who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed that four of their personnel brutalized at the mega station are currently receiving treatment in a hospital in Dutse.

how do they intend to enforce collection of this tax? whats the penalty for non-payment? how many Nigerians even pay complete tax?
PoliticsRe: If You Are The President Of Nigeria, What Will You Do Differently? by trix1: 8:08pm On Jan 30, 2013
Wallie: Not exactly! It is true that we have some many good policies but some things need to change! For example, is it not within the boundaries of the criminal code that a convicted criminal guilty of stealing $12.6 million got a $1500 fine? If there are minimum mandatory sentencing guidelines in place then a judge cannot deviate from the guideline.
Punishments are not tied to amount stolen, the punishment for what that man did is 7yr in jail. But remember that the prosecutors must prove his guilt beyond reasonable doubts. There's no place for sentiments. My guess is that the prosecution did not have enough factual proof, so they agreed to a poor plea bargain to avoid a long expensive trial.
PoliticsRe: If You Are The President Of Nigeria, What Will You Do Differently? by trix1: 5:48pm On Jan 30, 2013
Judging from the posts here, most of you haven't read the constitution or criminal code. Most of what is written here is already there. What I expected to see is HOW you would do it. Not coming here to state already existing policies.
We have so many good policies, our problem lies in implementation.

Non-Muslims complain that they want a warning- they get it from another non-Muslim.

Non-Muslims still complain about the red warning when they see it.

What do they want Muslims to do? I know #Disappear or be #Silent

But that won't happen. At least, not under my watch.

At some point, you'd need to step off your high horse and really think through what you type before posting. I did not disclose my religion, perhaps if I did not put that last line in my original post, you may have had a different thought pattern.

Let me attempt to realign your thought process.

You would agree with me that the points posited by the poster are beneficial to not just Muslims? No? or is living peacefully with your neighbor only for Muslims?

You strut around, like you take pleasure in banning people and shutting them out from anything that has to do with Islam. people who have constipation of ideas and diarrhea of the mouth would spew trash on every section, but putting a warning on only one section, makes its look like that section is the most intolerant.

If its only Non Muslims that make all the complains, why was this section created? which religion wrote the warning letter to seun? let me not digress, stop making this whole thing a case of Muslims against non-Muslims.

Your argument falls on its face ab initio.
What exactly is your point? that the person who put it there is infallible?
IslamRe: How To Be A Productive Neighbor by trix1: 11:52am On Jan 22, 2013
This is the first section where I've see the warning "To avoid being banned, please ensure that your post is not offensive to Islam." boldly written, and yet your post says

tbaba1234: 4. Stay Connected

Have tea/coffee once in a while together, visit them, or invite them over to your place. Stop for a one-minute chat when you see them outside. In this manner, you will know if they are sick or in need of something. It will also build your relationship just to know what is happening in your neighbor’s life, as well as give your neighbor a chance to get to know you better as well.
People have been intimidated so much that they have to tip toe around islamic threads to avoid being banned, is that how to stay connected and build relationships?

I personally think threads that hit the front page be excluded from this islamic rule or such threads shouldn't hit the front page. You cant expect to have the same front page exposure as other people and insist on gagging people from expressing themselves because you feel its offensive to islam.

Pastors and Christianity generally get bashed every other day on the front page, or is Christianity more tolerant than islam?

Car TalkRe: The Nigerian Police And Engine Number. by trix1: 3:39pm On Jan 15, 2013
Siena: It has everything to do with this, Stagger. Half the time, the members of the NPF are clueless. If half the people they pull over at least know what their vehicle details are, they can point the officers in the right direction. An officer sees a car as a 2,2L, the owher of the car says it's a 1,6L. What happens then?

Folk buy cars with an "alternative" engine fitted, but because they're not clued up, assume it's the 1,5L their model should have been fitted with, so they tell the officer so. And it turns out the Mazda 1,5L is actually a Toyota Camry 2,2L. At least if they're automobile savvy, they'll tell any officer EXACTLY what's under the hood, rather than insist it's not what the officer says it is.

Who gets held up then, when the engine number doesn't match the vehicle registration documents? Sure, engines get replaced, but these are things the owner should be aware of, to avoid lengthy delays when he / she is pulled over.
while I agree that many people don't take time to really know the kinda engine they have, I think this thread has more to do with police obsession with engine number, than engine type. It seems you don't live in Nigeria, so you haven't gotten a clear picture of what the OP is painting.
when you get to a police check point, they don't look at the engine type, what they look for is engine number, and woe betide you if the 5 written on your papers look like S.

Judging from the font of your text, you are typing from a blackberry, probably one of those very cheap UK used fones, and the screen isn't clear enough to see the pictures properly.

But hopefully you are literate enough to read.. Let me quote this for you.

ROSSIKE: That project will provide employment opportunities for those 'hungry folks and kidnappers'. It will take thousands of people both within and outside that facility to build it and keep it up and running - labourers, security, waiters, ushers, drivers, cashiers, electricians, suppliers of various items and services.

Assume for instance you're a small security firm based in the area. This facility automatically means you will start recruiting and training staff to fill positions.

What if you were a female hawker on the streets? This facility gives you the opportunity to apply for a position there, at the very least, as a cleaner. You will get a structured, paid job, with uniform, perks and employment rights. You can then plan your future, be it education, or saving up to start your own cleaning services... anything.

The more of these facilities we have on ground, the more opportunities it creates for everyone. I've not even mentioned the skilled workers - civil engineeers, insurance men, bankers, lawyers, surveyors, architects, including graduates for whom yet another modern establishment has opened its doors and will require skilled management in various positions on an ongoing basis. So these projects are what you use to build a modern economy. I say the more the merrier.

Nigeria is gradually moving forward, many more Nigerians can now afford to buy brand new cars, People are building their personal houses, see all these constructions, we are not there, BUT we are surely not where we were 4 yrs ago.

I haven't even seen any pictures from Jigawa State. there are also massive constructions going on there.

and all those posters who still see nothing good, even with all these pictures, the problem is with your family and people around you!! everybody is moving forward oh, na only una remain for back. na una own bad pass!! even Seun sef don step up! a few days ago he was even looking for a driver to employ. una for apply oh
