Sports / Re: Celestine Babayaro Is Bankrupt, Can You Lend A Hand? by trustboy: 10:15am On Mar 20, 2013
Just because he has been declared Bankrupt does not necessarily mean he is broke. A lot of people file for bankruptcy just to avoid paying their debts.
Travel / Re: invalid by trustboy: 2:54pm On Feb 29, 2012
I travelled to Nigeria on the 10th of February 2012 in company of my son. I had the new passport while he had the old one. He was allowed in without any problem and was only advised to change it. I think the general rule is that if the old passport is still valid you can enter Nigeria with it but cannot exit Nigeria with it. Hope this helps.

Education / Re: Isn't It Impossible To Make A First Class In Law? by trustboy: 4:08pm On Jul 05, 2011
I need someone to help me here. I hold an Msc from a University in the UK. I recently applied and got admitted to study for an MA Law degree in the UK. This is a 2 year Qualifying Law degree which satisfies the requirements of the Solicitors Regulatory Authority in UK. In addition i would be studying all the core subjects required by the Nigerian Law School.
I sent an email to a Director of Administration at the Nigerian Law School and was told the program would not qualify me for admission because it is an MA and not LLB. Can someone please advise me on this. The Nigerian Law school website mentions the core subjects and a Qualifying Law degree but places no emphasis on the LLB.

Politics / Re: Alao Akala Awards N25m For 5 Public Toilets. by trustboy: 6:42pm On Jul 16, 2009
Its only in a country like nigeria that a retard like Akala can become a Governor. A dismissed police officer who bleaches his skins and wear very long chains like those touts one sees often at oshodi. When is election as Governor was announced, the first word to come out of his mouth was 'ODOBE'
Yoruba word for saying the soup is cooked.

Travel / Re: Nigerians Abroad: What Advise Will You Give Anyone Relocating Abroad? by trustboy: 11:57pm On Jan 11, 2009
Jemilady, i do not really understand why your hubby would convert from highly skilled migrant visa status which is a path to settlement to student visa which is not. If he plans to get settlement under the 10year residence rule, i am afraid he is taking a gamble because this is a concession outside immigration rules and plans are underway to remove it.

f6, i think you are rather too optimistic with your projections and plans, in the current economic climate you cant be too hopeful of paying a fee of £12000 over a period of 3 years on a student visa. I am afraid your plans may backfire. What happens if you loose your job? I wish you all the best.

Foreign Affairs / Re: US Elections 2008 Results: Obama vs Mccain by trustboy: 8:24am On Nov 01, 2008
As much as i love Obama to win, the reality on ground is that most of the polls that put him ahead might be wrong. There is a strong possibility that voters are not actually stating their true intentions. I also think that the media are bias in favour of Obama. When you add this to his unprecedented levels of spending on TV adds, i suppose there might be a backlash from voters who clearly will refuse to have the US presidency offered to the highest bidder.

Firstly,I have some unit of COSTAIN PLC shares. I qualified to purchase some 'rights offer' during the recently concluded PO exercise.
Prior to this, my broker requested me to send a scanned application addressed to the Registrar for the rights circular. I did this and kept following up with phone calls. He recently sent me a text to forget about the rights offer, without offering any explanation. What should i do?

Secondly, i have exercised restraint in mentioning the brokers name, but i owe it a duty to other members of the board simply because i opened an account with the company based on recommendation from somebody on this board.
GTI CAPITAL LTD.
They will buy you stock you did not request, they wont execute your buy or sell order, they wont reply your mails and they treat you like dirt.

Can somebody please advise if its possible to get broadband connection in ota. I live in UK and have my business in ota. I have bought some cameras and a softeware that would enable me monitor my business online from the UK. I presently have a dial up connection and this cannot serve this purpose.
I have spoken to a lot of companies that offer broadband service in Nigeria, but their coverage is restricted mostly to the lagos area.
