Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Politics › Re: Tinubu: National Grid Collapsing Because Government Didn't Listen To Me by trutharena: 2:04am On Apr 14, 2022
Throwback:
Why did Barth Nnaji put himself in a compromising position that made Jonathan sack him?

Maybe if the PDP federal government had allowed Tinubu's brilliant intervention on Electric Power flourish in 2000, we would not have needed a Barth Nnaji to come mess himself up over a decade later.

Our best route to fixing power was the liberalisation of the power sector that Tinubu pursued with the Enron project in Lagos.

Tinubu may be as corrupt as every single state Governor Nigeria has had since 1999, but he is certainly a visionary who faced challenges head on.

Tinubu's government in Lagos pioneered a lot of public initiatives and solutions in different sectors that other states later copied.

LASTMA for traffic.
LAWMA for waste disposal
Enron IPP for electrical power
Revamping of Primary Health Centers
BRT for public transportation
Local Government Areas were increased to 57 (37 LCDAs that will in due time become full-fledged LGAs).
State monthly IGR rose from N600m to about N10b between 1999 to 2007.
The very 1st state to embrace digital technology (Oracle) in managing its civil service and public database.

Return of all missionary schools to their original owners, despite the disapproval of his fellow Muslims who didn't want their own schools back and wanted the Christian schools to remain state owned, Tinubu did not yield to their parochial opinions.
Despite the return to private ownership, all students who were already in JSS2 to SSS3, were exempt from the new school fees charged by the returning proprietors as Lagos State was paying a yearly subsidy to the new ownership to cover the students mapped as state responsibility until the last set of JSS2 public students graduated 5years later.

Tinubu was the one who showed other state governments the power that was inherent in a state government and the separation of power between federal vs state.

Obasanjo will never forget Tinubu who did not surrender the independence of his state to the mercy of the federal government. Buhari will never forget how Tinubu championed and finetuned his presidential ambition, even employing his Chicago connections to get the same PR team that managed the presidential campaign of Barack Obama.

Tinubu did not learn from his peers, instead he pioneered for the duplication by his peers. He has demonstrated an ability to lead and to create order out of chaos.

Tinubu has managed a multi-ethnic and multi-religious society, and is better experienced at being an impartial and sensitive leader at the national level for a heterogeneous country like Nigeria.
100%.

You are very correct.

When Tinubu established that Enron deal, if the FG had allowed it to flourish, by now most states would have followed suit and we won’t need to be burdened with centralizing the grid like we have today. Imagine since the 2000s, by now some states would have been lit up by themselves.

You know a lot of people online just hate Tinubu for no reason. So rather than look at what he achieved as governor, they will resort to deflecting the argument and bla bla bla.

Tinubu is the only politician among the current contenders that have built government structure and institution. No other person come close to the man. What Nigeria need is strong instructions and structure.

RRS as it stand today is the best police force in this nation. No other police formation come close both aesthetic wise and response time wise.

BRT system is one of the best transport system by any government in Nigeria. He constructed the line for the BRT and any successive Lagos governor just need to service and plug in BRT buses. That is a man with foresight for the future.

What about LCDAs, currently now Lagos is in a league of her own. You have LCDA chairmen building hospitals that some state governors can never dream of.

People say it’s because Lagos is rich, I just laugh. Rivers state is stikingly rich too but you can’t pinpoint one institutional reform in that state that can outlive the current governor. Rivers revenue is massive with her small population compared to Lagos, and yet it is not eldorado yet.

Asiwaju is the kind you need in a president. We need to build institution and structure that can outlast the current regime. Continuity is the success of Lagos, we need that in Nigeria so so so much!

Asiwaju is the answer!

Then we can all relax

The invisible cabals can keep orchestrating from the back room.
Auto pilot presidency. Let's try it
I support Asiwaju Jagaban and he is the most castigated politician ever.

That you Obi supporters can’t take bit of antagonizing voice against him speaks volumes. Asiwaju ever since he left government have been castigated especially by his political enemies.

Check Nairaland, there is no day that passes that you won’t see a Tinubu thread opened and you’ll have his political enemies antagonizing him.

I have more info about Obi Pandora. I know he can’t be president but I just always use dragging him as a way to get back to those that think they have the monopoly of dragging other candidate.

It’s all cruise. Obi Pandora is just a guy that is going nowhere politically. Even you yourself know this and many of his other supporters.

What I would have loved is to showcase Obi Pandora actual verifiable achievement and compare it to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu verifiable achievements BUT since Obi Pandora supporters will shy away from that, we rather continue to castigate each other choice.

BafanaBafana:
Osibanjo did not betray Tinubu. Unless they signed an agreement that Osibanjo would not run for president
Osinbajo betrayed Tinubu. He knows about Tinubu intention to run after Buhari even back then in 2014 when they are planning APC. Infact, Osinbajo look like a man without much ambition which explained why Tinubu made use of him. But it turned out he has hidden agenda too.

But betrayal is acceptable in politics. Almost all politicians betray one another and even Buhari is not an exception. Most successor state governors always betray their predecessors benefactors, so I think that’s how Nigeria is wired.

No need stressing all these things. Make everybody rest.

Osinbajo shouldn’t try to paint that he did not betray, he should betray with his full chest!

I am wary of people who use these kinds of things as a show of moderation.

It is the same way Buhari was drinking milo and pure water. How does this affect governance or impact performance.

This same Obi has offshore business in a Pandora way, he never declared that business so he can show his minions that he is moderate until Pandora leak his ass.

This same man said he only have a house in Anambra and that why should he have houses abroad and bla bla bla. After people unraveled his house in London, he backtracked and started shalayeing.

This same man claimed he has one wristwatch and bla bla bla, only for us to know it’s all a lie.

So him taking normal plane ride doesn’t mean jack. Fayose too always take bikes instead, should we now say he’s suddenly a presidential material coz of that?

First thing was to hand over school back to their mission owners so government handled their own schools

Next was effective funding ... normally money from ministry of education moved from FG -state -LGA - schools ...but he made it FG to schools straight ...

Each mission school or government school are given grants to run effectively with the states funding them ... and supervised by the school board made up of principles n mission school owners

This pushed Anambra ranked 20th when he came in to 1st when he left ...now Anambra and my imo have been draging 1st since in weac ,jamb and NECO performance u can research the performance ....

It's not about building infrastructure but it's about improving efficiency

Google about Anambra public schools and see how the policy is working
Nonsense Asiwaju was the first governor to hand over schools back to missions. Many other governors handed over schools back to mission after that including Peter Obi. So what’s now the noise about the guy? What they ask you is that what exactly is his developmental legacy that lasted till today? None.

Even his fake 70bn remained only 300m at the handover of Obiano.

LITTLE BOY? Do you know that in America when the pronoun BOY is use to address a well grown man it the same thing as calling the person SLAVE.
Now let's talk about HONESTY. No politician can ever be honest. There are reasons politics is tag A DIRTY GAME. Obi has nothing to offer Nigerians and that's a fact. You can't go on air to claim instead of borrowing that we should all die of hunger. There are country owing x10 of what Nigeria is currently owing make a proper research. In a country as wealth as Nigeria borrowing is NEVER a wrong policy is there are a well calculated plan on how to put the borrowed money to good use. In developed country borrow money was used to complete most of their capital projects and that's a fact. Take a good businessman for an example his/her businesses can't grow without borrow fund. Look at Dangote Leke-Epe refinery funded by borrowed fund just to mention few. Peter Obi have nothing upstairs these people as just fortunate to amass looted wealth not that they had extraordinary skills or are professional of anything.
God bless you brother. It seems we still have intelligent people online.

Peter Obi just manufacture theories that cannot be easily backed with realistic facts. It’s a known fact that Nigeria currently generate less than her expenses and we are in deep financial wahala. Very deep one.

No government can continue to sustain this country as it currently stand without borrowing money. Yes, we must reduce borrowing limit and block leakages which a sensible president can do.

But before Nigeria can stand on her own and reduce her debt servicing and borrowing to a low limit, we have to put in work, increase output as a nation, create wealth internally, support SMES, industries, and etc. You need at least 4-8 years or more to achieve that SO a president that think he will just come with magic and suddenly stop everything within few months and stop borrowing is not only lying but delusional.

Even if they bring the most brilliant economist to govern Nigeria he will need at least 4 - 8 years before we can fully say our borrowing and debt servicing is at very minimum. Nigeria is currently faced with insecurities wasting billions of our money, we have vast millions in poverty and etc., no industries in that big scale, no electricity to power the economy instantly. So how the hell will Obi achieve el-dorado for the first few years without borrowing? Nigeria no be Anambra o.

It is just as Buhari said he will make $1 to 1naira.

In plain language all Peter Obi is saying is Nigeria needs to tighten its belt.

Why something so simple needed to be explained is perplexing
Yes like he tightened the belt when he served in a Jonathan government that keep borrowing money and not able to pay salaries?

If Buhari had not rule, we would have thought he will make $1 = 1 Naira. Even America that has the best economy in the world cannot be bold enough to say they don't borrow.

If he had said he will minimize borrowing, then that make sense. But saying he won't borrow one kobo is a joke taken too far just like he lied he has one wristwatch and he can never own a house abroad. Same lying crook later admitted he had a house in London when people laid bare his secret.
