The political structure in Nigeria is wrong. If PDP does the right things in the states they are governing, people will love to vote for them without being induced with money.

But what have they done in their various state to reflect good governance? Was it the way they locked palliatives meant for the poor that will encourage people to vote for them?

Is it about building bridges and roads while people are dying with hunger?

These set of politicians need to reset their brains, both APC and PDP. They have all failed us. And I don't see anything different they are coming to do in the next regime.

We need new leaders with different idealogy. We are tired of these liars who only use their offices to enrich themselves.

Dear men,

It is good to have a business or a job before you start dating or talking about marriage. Because a man without an income is more likely to propose to a woman he doesn't love, and spend the rest of his life existing instead of living. Go into marriage, not bondage. Be productive and work. Stop waiting for a woman to bail you out of your poverty circle.
What about men who start dating as students? I mean undergraduates. If you meet someone you love dearly in school, can't you date hoping for the best. My idea of dating is not sleeping around. I mean getting to know each other better to check for compatibility.

* God's Old Covenant never applied to Gentiles so we were never of God's family then. And only those Gentiles who believe in Jesus Christ have a chance at becoming a part of God's family through Him. undecided

2. Irrespective of the opinions expressed by Paul in his letters, and the many interpretations men give to them, I hold only to the Truth of God, Jesus Christ who is to return as King to fulfill God's side of the Old Covenant when He returns to reign over the land of Israel for a millenia. undecided
He will reign over the whole earth. But the headquarter will be in Jerusalem. The faithful saints will reign with him. He will give us power over nations. This is why he is called the King of kings. He is the King and we are kings.

Hence he wrote to the church in Thiatira which is a church in a Gentile nation;

Revelation 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I GIVE POWER OVER THE NATIONS.

1. Regardless of how we imagine they were, 2000 years later,the fact is a majority of the first Christians were Jews and so it is wrong to assume that when Joy wrote that "His own received Him not", that John meant that Jews didn't accept Jesus Christ at all. undecided

2. I am afraid I will pass on that what is your special interpretation there of that which is written in Matthew 24 vs 15. undecided
Matthew 24:15 which reads;

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understandsmiley

It's part of the future event that will befall the nation of the Jew and will trigger the greatest tribulation the Jews has ever experienced.

Like I said before, they are still awaiting their Messiah. And he will come in the future after the anti Christ will be revealed.

The anti Christ is identified as the first beast in Revelation, Chapter 13. He has ten horns which represents a confederalism of ten European states where he will rule from. The headquarter will be in Rome. He will be the new world ruler in that era. And that will be the seventh and last notable kingdom of world on earth.

The second beast in Revelation, 13 is the false Prophet or the false Christ which the Jews will accept as the long awaited Messiah. He will sign a seven years peace treaty with the anti Christ. But after three and a half years, he will erect an image of the anti Christ in the temple of God and force everyone on earth to worship this image.

It is at this point that the Jews blindness will be removed and they will know that they have been deceived. And they will refuse to worship the image because of what the commandment says.

It is at this point that their persecution of the Jews will start. Hence Jesus said;

Matthew 24:21-22
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

The image is erected in the temple of God is an abomination. The desolation talks about the destruction that will take place in Jerusalem and the entire Isreal because of the persecution.

It is at this point that they will believe that Jesus is indeed the true Messiah and they will cry out for help. But so many false prophets in their days will take advantage of their fears and make wrong prophecies. So, Jesus said:

Matthew 24:23-24
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

But Jesus will eventually come back in the midst of the great tribulation and make war with the beast and the false Prophet. After he defeats them, he will establish the millennium reign on earth.

Even before examining the context of the statement, what Paul wrote there seems to be instead that His statement applies only to those who believe in Jesus Christ. undecided

According to Jesus Christ, you cannot serve two masters - The laws of God being masters. You can either love on and hate the other. So a Jew who believes in Jesus Christ for example is no longer able to continue serving God under the Old way - being born-again signifies that one abandons the Old Way to embrace the New Way. So no longer does He obey the Old Law but instead Obeys God via the New Law, Jesus Christ. undecided

Now to the part about righteousness, the only way to fulfill God's requirement in the Old Covenant, and gain the promise of Long life in the land of Israel after the resurrection - Deuteronomy 30 vs 15 - 20 - each Jew was required to live and die in righteousness. in keeping with God's Old Law, Jesus Christ lived and died a righteous man by the Old Covenant standard, This He did so His fulfillment could be imparted to all the Jewish sinners who would chose to believe I'm Him in order to release them from the obligation of the Old Law, so they could follow the New Law instead. So, Jesus Christ's righteousness indeed ended the reign of the Old Law over those who chose to believe in Hiim. undecided

Also very important to realize here is that much of what Paul opined has to do with Jewish Christians who were the primary audience as far as his letters.. not those of us of gentile birth. undecided
No, it applies to us too. Though we didn't have an old covenant but we are part of the family of God through faith in the finished work of Christ.

This is why Apostle Paul wrote to the Ephesian church.

Ephesians 2:11-18
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past GENTILES IN THE FLESH, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and STRANGERS FROM THE COVENANTS OF PROMISE, having no hope, and without God in the world:

13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

15 Having ABOLISHED IN HIS FLESH THE ENMITY, even the LAW OF COMMANDMENTS contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

16 And that he might RECONCILE BOTH UNTO GOD in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

This passage reveals the following.

1. Apostle Paul reminded the church in Ephesus that they were Gentiles in the flesh.

2. That they were never part of the covenant of promise which God had with Isreal.

3. That the wall separating the Jews and the Gentiles have been broken.

4. He identified this wall as the law of commandments given to the Jews which he called the enmity.

5. He said that this law has been abolished

6. He said now that two separate race, the Jews and the Gentiles have been made one in Christ.

7. He concluded that we all have access to the Father by one spirit.

Yet, on Pentecost, about 120 of His own were Filled with the Spirit of God, after which Peter is recorded to have preached to 1000s who got saved over that period, majority of them Jews? undecided

The bulk of the Persecution of Christians happened after many years after the death of Jesus Christ beginning mostly with Jews persecuting fellow Jews(Christian jews). Yes, the entire Jewish nation did not receive Him but He was not totally rejected by the Jews as many turned to Him even after His death. undecided
Those who held on to their faith were relatively few. And now, it's difficult to see a Jew who is a Christian. They still practice Judaism. And they are still awaiting their Messiah who will come but he is a false Prophet and an anti Christ. The Jews will initially accept him but we reject him when he sets up an image in the Temple for the world to worship. This is what our Lord Jesus called, abomination of desolation in Matthew, 24:15

1. It never ended. I call Old Covenant because it is older than the New Wine which Jesus Christ gave to some of the same people. undecided

2. Jesus Christ instead said you should not mix Old Wine and New Wine together as the consequences will be disastrous for those who attempt such. You should only serve one master at a time. Either you keep both feet in the Old Law, or you keep both in the New. But once you have moved over to the New, there is no way to exit to return again to serving the Old. undecided

3. In the context that is instead Jesus Christ's, every servant will have His works judged in the end...Matthew 25 vs 31 - 46. Obedience(Works) remains the Key to both God's every Laws, be it the Old Law or the New Law. undecided

4. All the just men of Old where justified by their keeping of the Old Covenant. In, Ezekiel 18 vs 1 - 36 & Ezekiel 33 vs 9 - 20, God reiterated His promise to them that those who obey Him would live(be made just) and those who sin would die. undecided

Again, in the Gospels, we are told that John the Baptists parents were righteous in the sight of God, same as Joseph, the man chosen to be Jesus's father and the standard by which they were justified was the Old Covenant, the very same Covenant that Jesus Christ submitted to and obey all His life in order that He too was justified by it, and was able to pay the Ransome for the sinners of the Old Covenant who chose to follow Him than continue laboring under the Old Law in order to attain justification. undecided
OK. Please help me to interpret this scripture. When you are through with this, I will quote another one;

Romans 10:4 For Christ is the END OF THE LAW for righteousness to every one that believeth.

1. God never said in Jeremiah that He would end the Old Covenant. He never alluded to such ever being the case.. undecided

God also never intended His Old Covenant for us gentiles and so the promises of that Covenant remain for the jews alone. God will never give that which belongs to Jacob to the gentiles. undecided

Also the claim that the jews refused God's New Covenant is not based on truth. Jesus Christ's own disciplines, and many of the first Christians were jews, and were they not -the very same who will reign with Him over the 12 tribes of Israel in the future? undecided

2. This assumed rejection is not what gave us opportunity as you pretend. The New Covenant was always intended by God for jews and gentiles alike, this since He promised to use the seed of Abraham to bless the Nations of the world with, this long before the Jewish nation came into existence via God's Old Covenant Law of Moses. It was instead Jesus Christ's resurrection from the death that threw wide open, the gates of the Kingdom to all those previously condemned by God's judgment in Genesis 3 vs 19. undecided

In Deuteronomy 30 vs 15 - 20, God explains what is to happen when the Old Covenant is fulfilled and those promises are still off in the future when Jesus Christ comes back to reign over the 12 tribes as He promised, so how can the law itself be said to have been canceled? undecided
But it has ended. This is why it is called Old Covenant.

The law and grace are mutually exclusive events. Both cannot run concurrently. Hence Paul wrote;

Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Work in this context refers to the law of Moses. The law is a work system.

No one can be justified by keeping the law of Moses. The just shall live by faith.

Evidence that the Jews rejected him

John 1:11-12
11 He came unto his own, AND HIS OWN RECEIVED HIM NOT.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

There where of course Jews that were Christians but after years of persecution, the majority went back to practice Judaism. They rejected the message of Paul especially when he said circumcision was no longer necessary in their walk with God.

Read what Paul said concerning this

Romans 11:11-12
Did God’s people stumble and fall beyond recovery? Of course not! THEY WERE DISOBEDIENT, SO GOD MADE SALVATION AVAILABLE TO THE GENTILES. But he wanted his own people to become jealous and claim it for themselves. NOW IF THE GENTILES WERE ENRICHED BECAUSE THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL TURNED DOWN GOD'S OFFER OF SALVATION, think how much greater a blessing the world will share when they finally accept it - New Living Translation.

1. There are at least 4 Covenants that I am aware of that are still in operation to this day...

1. The Covenant God gave to Adam in the beginning(the world remains under curse by it).
2. Covenant of Noah(the rainbow still shows up as reminders thanks to it)
3. Covenant God made through Moses those of the blood of Jacob. Israel is still a nation by it.
4. And Jesus Christ , God's New Covenant, with individual men for living in the Kingdom of God.

I am not certain where you get the idea that a new Covenant means the Old is done away with. undecided

2. God never found fault in any of His Covenants. No where in scripture is this claim that He did stated by God Himself. undecided

If men found fault in any of God's Covenants, that is of men but not of God. undecided

3. The claim that the jews could not keep God’s Old Covenant is untrue. This since there are many righteous men of old recorded. In the Gospels, we are told of at least 5 righteous men who lived during the time of Jesus Christ who made it known that He did not come to call the righteous but the sinners to God. undecided

4. Well, Jesus Christ taught His disciples that it is not possible to have one foot in the Old Covenant and the other in the Old Covenant. And He also said there is no going back once one has entered into the Kingdom of God. undecided
Every point I made is from the scripture. I even quoted Jerimiah. We formerly called Gentiles were never part of the Old Covenant. It was given to the Jews. And God has brought a new covenant for them but they rejected it.

It is their rejection that gave us the opportunity to be saved. But God still has a plan for them. One day in the very near future, they will turn to Christ and be saved. Right now, they are partially blinded.

I did not witness Paul's myself to tell you anything of him. All I can say is that God is not man that He should lie neither a son of man that He should change His mind or contradict His own self. undecided

God decreed that His Covenant is eternal and Jesus Christ affirmed this by confirming that He did not come to abolished but to fulfill, and He promised His followers to rule over Israel with Him when He returns to do just that. So, suggesting the Law was canceled is akin to saying God lied and Jesus Christ made a mistake. undecided

I trust God and hence I trust Jesus Christ obe the words found attributed to a son of man named Paul. undecided
But there is a New Covenant. And it is not possible to have the old one still effective when there is a new one.

It was even spoken through the mouth of Prophet Jerimiah that God will take away the old covenant and establish the new one. Read the prophecy below;

Jerimiah 31:31-34
31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I WILL MAKE A NEW COVENANT WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL, and with the house of Judah:

32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: note

33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

And the writer of Hebrews made reference to this when he wrote;

Hebrews 8:7-13
7 For if that FIRST COVENANT HAD BEEN FAULTLESS, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8 FOR FINDING FAULT WITH THEM, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: note note

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

13 In that he saith, A NEW COVENANT, HE HATH MADE THE FIRST OLD. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is READY TO VANISH AWAY.

I believe you are getting a clearer picture. God found fault with the first covenant. So, he had to establish a new one.

One of the fault of the Old Covenant was that it told the Jews what to do but it did not give them the ability to do it.

The Jews could not keep the law because of the weakness of the flesh. And instead of being blessed by the law, they came under a curse. This is why Jesus had to come to redeem them from the curse of the law. As it is written;

Galatians 3:13 Christ HATH REDEEMED US FROM the CURSE OF THE LAW, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

And anyone who attempts to go back to the law brings himself under a curse.

Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law ARE UNDER THE CURSE; for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

Digest this one first before I give you more details. Most Pastors don't even know this truth. This is why the church is divided on many doctrinal issues.

Who called Paul into the ministry. Jesus himself said there were so many things he wants to say but couldn't say them. He said that the Holy Spirit will reveal them to us when he comes. And he did just that.

John 16:12-13.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

And Paul said

Ephesians 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now REVEALED UNTO HIS HOLY APOSTLES and PROPHETS by the SPIRIT;

If Apostles was in error, Jesus would have mentioned it in his letters to the churches. You can't sweep under the carpet the writings of Apostles Paul which occupied almost half of the New Testament.

I will even use the very statement of our Lord Jesus and the things he did during his earthly ministry to attest to the fact that he has abolished the law. I will be back.

You mean you have scriptures to prove Jesus Christ(God) lied in Matthew 5 vs 17 - 18? And my guess is this were spoken by Jesus Christ Himself? undecided

Go for it! Let's see what you have.

Abolishing the Law implies a doing away of, by God, of the Nation of Israel, the same Nation Jesus Christ is slated to return and rule over for a millenia, this since that very Law is God's constitution given to Israel, a Covenant from Him as evidence of His promise to Jacob. undecided

Jesus Christ instead said He came to fulfill the Covenant, not abolish it. And fulfillment occurs when the promise God made by God to the children of Israel is carried out... the promise of long life in the land of Israel. According to Jesus Christ, to take place when He returns to reign over them, not before. undecided
Just calm down. We learn everyday. I will quote at least ten verses or passages affirming that the law of Moses has been abolished or that says we are no longer under the Law of Moses for you to read and digest first after which I will reconcile it what Jesus said in Matthew 5:17. Let's start;

#1
Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for YE ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW, but under grace.
#2
Romans 7 :4-6
4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become DEAD TO THE LAW by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. note

6 But now we are DELIVERED FROM THE LAW, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

#3
Romans 10:4 For Christ is the END OF THE LAW for righteousness to every one that believeth.

#4

▪︎The Old Covenant Law of Moses was God's Law for those who have the blood of Jacob coursing through their veins and is meant as a National Constitution for the Nation of Israel which God created in the Land of Canaan - Deuteronomy 30 vs 15 - 20 - a Nation of this world. undecided

▪︎The New Covenant, Jesus Christ is God's Law to individuals meant as a Law for living in the Kingdom of God - Matthew 26 vs 28 - 30 - a Kingdom not of this world. undecided

These are 2 different and separate contracts made by God for 2 different purposes. undecided

I believe the Word of God Himself who doesn't lie nor change His mind. undecided
Answer my question. Do you want scriptures that affirms that the Law of Moses has been abolished? They, we will harmonize it with what Jesus meant in Matthew 5:17

They should rather use the helicopter to trace the hideouts of these idiots and kill them all. But they won't do it. They are part of their future army they will use to launch their jihad.

This is why they masterminded the death of Arotile, the female helicopter pilot who was supposedly killed in an accident. And it happened after she successfully raided bandits camp and killed many of them. After she died, how many bandits camp has been successfully raided? Nigerians, shine your eyes. We are too dull in following trends of events.

Please, let's always try and read posts thoroughly before making comments. They were already separated but still living close to each other in the same compound. She should have moved very far away after the separation. This was her mistake.

It seems demons are more active than ever before. News like this were not common years back.

Serve God and do not yield to negative thoughts. Every evil or good we do begins our minds.

God gave the Old Covenant Law to the nation of Israel as a Constitution which was He intended to rule the nation with. The Old Covenant was not a mistake made by God instead it was given by God as en eternal Covenant meaning it does continue as God's Law for the people of Israel until the end of time. undecided

As Jesus Christ made clear, He did not come to change any of what God had previously established but instead to offer us a new and higher standard where God, not the things of the world, and His Kingdom is concerned. The New Covenant is not meant as a replacement for the Old Covenant since it is instead a different Law for a different Kingdom - the Kingdom of God. undecided

God didn't change His mind in regards to divorce in the Old Covenant, again this since His Old Law remains intact to this day and forever. Instead God presents a different standard for those who will chose to be of His Kingdom, which is not of this earth. The same goes for the Laws of Oath, and the other laws you mentioned. The Old Law and the New Law are eternal Laws... same God, no mind changed, just different standards for different Kingdoms. undecided
But the Old Testament law has been abolished. Giving the Jews laws to keep was not in the original plan of God. Are you ignorant about this?
