That attitude is expected on a Nigerian couple living in USA, not back home. It is also common amongst women that make far more money than their husbands. Growing up in a broken home might have negatively affected her. She might be bisexual or is not happy with your bed performance.

What a bountiful harvest is awaiting COVID-19 in Nigeria, guys should keep messing around with this killer virus. Nigeria is proving to be a very fertile land. We seem to want to dust, Spain, Uk and Italy combined in fatalities. After all our 200 million population is far more than that of the 3 countries mentioned combined.
Going by that 3,000 deaths a day sounds ridiculous but those countries in their worst moments were having more than 1000 daily deaths each.
People will be screaming “God forbid”, “we are covered by the blood of Jesus”, others will be saying I’m a prophet of doom. Tell me when USA, Spain, Italy, France, UK offended God that their death rates have reached an unprecedented level?
Our numbers have been looking fine all these while principally because COVID-19 was yet to find it’s way sufficiently to the grassroots and also because we have been lacking in testing. Now even Almajiris have contracted the disease and people fail to respect social distancing. We have to be prepared for the worst. Naija nor dey carry last, people popularly like saying but this is not the time we should try to impress by having the highest numbers of fatalities in the world.
Poverty, filthiness, illiteracy, stubbornness, malnutrition and senselessness will all work against the country.

Self Isolation will not work in Nigeria and it has never worked.

Most times people don't listen to instructions or advice when given. You can imagine even before the whole shooting of our cases, people that camebk from Europe and some part of Asia were advised to stay at home for 2weeks but what happened??

Staying at home self isolating might not be an option now because of how most of the homes people stay in are. Most people stay with there families in almost the same room. At most 3bed room. This makes it difficult to self isolate.

However it would be nice if people that are asymptomatic but are positive stays at self isolate. Atleast this would help reduce the load on our health facilities but the Dynamics of our homes most times wouldn't allow that.

Well that’s correct. Policies shouldn’t be made based on “copy and paste” approach, rather the feasibility should be weighed in different environments before settling for the most practical.
The reality on ground now is that COVID-19 will cancel a lot of people in Nigeria. It’s only the special grace of God that can reduce the disaster the disease out to cause.

That’s correct. I one wrote that “while lockdown is essential to effectively control/limit the spread of COVID-19; poverty is a contraindication for the implementation of chronic lockdown when the government cannot adequately provide palliative measure to alleviate the suffering of the common man”.
I understand the travail of the common man who is rather like “why lockdown and die of hunger in a quest of avoiding the possibility of contracting a disease that might not even up killing me”. The middle and upper class that have a steady source of income and live a rather comfortable life are the people that understand COVID-19 danger and henceforth do not want to take chances.
Social distancing is paramount in minimizing the propagation of the disease.
I see this COVID-19 embarking on a ruthless population control in Nigeria. It is just a question of time, because the bombs have already been planted and people are helping them of gain more potential before the finally get detonated. Prayers isn’t enough to evade disaster this time around.

The COVID-19 harvest time has come and apparently it is going to be bountiful in Kano State. It is quite unfortunate and it has only begun; it is going to far worse.
To be frank, North shouldn’t be singled out because senseless people in Nigeria are really plenty and there is no absolute hotspot. Grossly violating social distancing like it has been seen at a GT bank entrance in Lagos where over 1000 people were forcing their way into a bank could end up being another bountiful harvest for COVID-19 a few days time.

That’s no breaking news though. It was already a known fact by the majority. The reason why they called it mysterious death is what should even a mystery. The number of people that will keep dying will sadly increase significantly in a few days time because of the high level of contagiousness of the disease. The high level of illiteracy and poverty in the state wouldn’t help issues at all. Social distancing will not make sense to the almajiris and other low life individuals in the region.

A few weeks back dead bodies were littering streets of ecuador (a country in south america). I hope it doesn’t get to that level in nigeria. The prognosis for nigeria doesn’t look good at all.

One advantage of that region (if I can put it that way) is that muslims bury their dead fast, so there will be no significant increase on the pressure on mortuaries.

Covid-19 is a serious disease and we will now have to pay the outmost price with many lives now it has found it’s way to the grassroots.

And be wise to understand that more cases are being declared because more tests are being carried out in those countries. And more tests are being carried out mostly on suspected cases, they don’t drag people from the street to forcefully test them. More people are not being tested in Nigeria because not many people are declaring symptoms. I’m extremely realistic, not scared in anyway. You are still not getting it, I have already explained that the virus only got to the grassroots recently. Being like that, massive testing wasn’t expected before now. Did you expect massive street testing just after Abba Kyari and Atiku’s son imported it to Nigeria? Of course no. Time for more expansive testing is now that even Almajiri dudes in the north have the disease. Most states in Nigeria already have positive cases.
Of course testing is reserved for people with symptoms, contacts of positive cases and suspicion cases. While there are asymptomatic patients out there, testing is yet to be that generous.
It is no secret that test kits in Nigeria are seriously limited and some states lack testing facilities. I have colleagues practicing back home that are complaining of lack of adequate PPE. They also complain of lack of access to testing kits. Remember Nigeria has a population of over 200 million.
What I advocate for is for people to be very cautious and prepare for the worst case scenario, while they pray for the best.
Don’t forget Donald Trump initially wrote off COVID-19 claiming it was gonna be easily washed away. As I’m writing, more than 65,700 Americans have passed away due to COVID-19 in such a short period. Brazil president is following the same part and the fatality is progressively increasing. On Tuesday he was reminded by a journalists that despite the fact he claims the disease is mild that more than 5,000 Brazilians have died. He simple response was “so what”? He said his second name is Messiah but that doesn’t mean he can do miracles to save people from death. He has supported people at rally protesting against the lockdown (which he is strongly against and he goes around without face mask at the rally) imposed by state governors.
Mind you I’m thousands of miles away from Nigeria. The fatalities due to COVID-19 in the country I reside is still less than 25 after almost 2 months of partial lockdown. Normal activities are now slowly being reintroduced, although face mask most be used to be able to enter shopping malls.
If people begin to die massively in Nigeria (I pray that wouldn’t be the case though), it will still be on the platform I will write to say I saw it coming.

IT IS JUST A QUESTION OF TIME. AS AT FEBRUARY IT WAS JUST THE FEW PRIVILEGED NIGERIAS (SARCASTICALLY SPEAKING) THAT IMPORTED IT FROM OVERSEA THAT HAD IT. ABBA KYARI WAS ONE OF THEM AND BEHOLD HE IS NO MORE.
NOW COVID-19 HAS GENEROUSLY BEEN DISTRIBUTED AROUND THE WHOLE COUNTRY. WHEN ALMAJIRI DUDES IN THE NORTH ALREADY HAVE IT, YOU CAN NOW IMAGINE WHAT THE DIFFERENCE WILL LIKELY BE IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
ALL WE HAVE TO DO NOW IS TO BE VERY PRECAUTIOUS WHILE WE HOPE FOR THE BEST.
