PoliticsRe: Buhari/Osinbajo’s Whereabouts: Arewa Youths Call For Femi Adesina’s Resignation by TruthSpeaker: 8:35pm On May 08, 2020
lwise:
Are you drunk? If others are doing bad thing and they feel cool about doesn't make it right, your integrity matters most.
This Arewa youth group has had very controversial positions in the past, so let’s leave integrity aside.
Now going by integrity, how has Mr Integrity fared since he came into power? Do you see him steering this country in the right direction?
My point is calling for Adesina’s resignation is out of touch and it will not happen. He was appointed by Buhari to represent his interest and not to obligate Buhari and Osibanjo to show up in times of crisis.
Attacking Adesina instead of Buhari and Osibanjo is a cowardice act. Adesina will only lose his job if he is fired by Buhari.
Lawyers represent their clients even when they know they are evil, corrupt and rogues. Do you call out a lawyer for doing his job, or for lacking integrity? Now going international, even President Trump’s former press secretary Sarah Sanders admitted to investigators that she had made false statements to the public as press secretary.
Does Shetima have a stand-by job for Adesina if he decides to resign?

lunacol:
Please check well. The person you are referring to is not the former governor of Borno State Kasheem Shettima who is a senator.
Thank you, I have taken note and I have acted accordingly. It was a case of mistaken identity. Let’s be real, the guy will never resign. He can only get fired by his boss when he feels he isn’t adequately representing his interest

mushystuff:
I hope you know the Shettima that made the statement?
I don’t seem to know him. This must be a case of mistaken identity. But whatever be the case, calling for his resignation is out of touch. Governor Ganduje of Kano state that was caught red-handed collecting millions of dollars in bride is still governor. The senator that was caught on camara assaulting a woman at a sex shop in Abuja has retained his seat, so why single out a person that was appointed by Buhari to verbally defend him at any cost?

Point of correction!

This Yerima shettima is not former Zamfara state governor. The former governor's name is Ahmed Yerima and he's a senator right now.
Ok thanks for the correction. This is a case of mistaken of identity then. But even at that calling for his resignation is just a waste of time, because it wouldn't ever happen.

COVID-19 also taking away the privileged. It’s like people are still yet to understand the importance for social distancing and general precautions to avoid contracting the disease
PoliticsRe: Buhari/Osinbajo’s Whereabouts: Arewa Youths Call For Femi Adesina’s Resignation by TruthSpeaker:
When has it ever happened that a high profiled Nigerian resigned for a reason not related to having a higher political ambition?
The dude was appointed to represent the interest of the president, be it by propagation of lies or disinformation. Do you have a stand-by job to offer him after his resignation?

When Governor Ganduge of Kano state was caugh red-handed in a multimillion dollar scandal, did he resign? A senator that was caught on cámara assaulting a woman in a sex shop at Abuja has retained his job? Hope you also recommended resignation for these 2 men?
Demand resignation from Buhari instead of singling out this man that was appointed to represent his interest.
The truth is that Nigerians don’t resign just like that, no matter how immoral their offenses are.

That can't work here. Unless they keep you in your house and forcefully quarantine it grin. With time maybe they might consider it here if they run out of beds
Hahaha, stubbornness and wickedness are both responsible for it not to be feasible in Nigeria.

Uwaiwe:
Wherever you live in Nigeria what's the percentage of employees with monthly salary above 360K? 360k is impressive anywhere Nigeria. We are not talking of middle East ,Europe or other developed nations.
Sorry I don’t live in Nigeria, so I have no real clue of the regular salary structure. I have a friend that studied with me and returned back to Nigeria to work. As a specialist doctor he earns 750K monthly. So when I read of someone feeling really proud because of 360K it called my attention. Where I live, that amount of money will not even handle my monthly house rent most of all now that Naira has been devalued.
At Lekki where I stay when I visit Nigeria a 3 bedroom duplex goes for as much as 3.5M per annum.

kokoboy4life:
How many salary workers earn 360k in a month in Nigeria. A civil servant in Lago State Civil Commission will spend 35 years for him/her to earn such amount of cash as a basic salary.
Ok noted, that is Nigeria though. Now that naira has been devalued, that amount of money can’t even cover my monthly house rent in the country where I live.
No wonder receiving $100 as a gift dey really make sense for people back home in Nigeria
HealthRe: Covid-19: Why Do Some Patients Run Away From Isolation Centres? by TruthSpeaker:
Truth be told, a large percentage of COVID-19 patients don’t even require hospitalization to recover. It is just people that develop complications that should go to the hospital. Protocol in most countries recommend a stay at home order for COVID-19 patients.
The core aim of isolation centers as the name indicates is to isolate the patients to prevent them limit their spreading of the disease to a minimal level. Of course while at the isolation centers, they receive medical attention.

I guess people absconding from isolation center do it because of boredom, the inadequate state of the centers, wanting to reunite with their family, food deficiency at the isolation center etc.
In the country I live, COVID-19 patients are instructed to stay at home and do their consultations through telephone. When things get worse, they are then taken to the hospital with an ambulance. Sick people that violate the stay at home order could be charged to court for terrorism and if convicted they could be jailed 5 years.
HealthRe: University Of Benin Scientists Unveil Ventilators by TruthSpeaker: 3:49pm On May 07, 2020
A mechanical ventilator is much more than just an inflating machine. This industrial toy can substitute a life support machine (which is the most appropriate name for ventilators). He should better reserve it for his family members to use if they will ever need it.
For COVID-19 fight, attention has been shifted away from ventilators.
Congratulations to him though, if that will make him happy.

COVID-19 at work perhaps. Covid-19 is notorious for killing after a brief illness, but in this case no details was given. Since it happened in Kano, it is raising dust.
RomanceRe: How My Ex Left Me After She Discovered My Salary Was 45k, I Now Earn This by TruthSpeaker: 7:22am On May 07, 2020
Congrats from 45K to 360K, that is a significant increment. I don’t know where in Nigeria you live oh, but 360K still doesn’t sound impressive in my ears. Maybe the issue is that I don’t have a real notion of average salary back home. Of course I know our minimum wage is really low.

Your calculation of 100,000 daily death rate is bogus to say the least
That’s correct, thank you. It was due to some typos or simply gross exaggeration. I meant to say 10,000 deaths a day. I have corrected the misinformation.

Yeah, education and stealing trade and technological secrets
Oh yes, but education is very necessary to be able to even identify the trade and technological secrets that need to be stolen to develop a country in the first place.
Nigeria has been stagnant and even moved some steps backward over the years. Ordinary Ghana that we chased their citizens out of Nigeria some decades back are now ahead of us different aspects. Electricity for example, their power supply is close to perfect. I have travelled to over 12 countries over the years. Electricity has never been an issue in any country I have visited or lived in. The last time I visited Nigeria, even at Abuja there was absolute power failure (total outage) and partial power failure (low voltage) for many hours of the day.

Very few people are benefiting from this COVID-19 pandemic. Amongst the few are some evil politicians, some pharmaceutical companies, cellphone companies (via data selling), online streaming services like Netflix, power company (electricity providers because bills have all gone up for having more people ah home all day long) etc.

TravelRe: FG Extends Flight Ban By Four Weeks by TruthSpeaker:
The move makes some sense, although the biggest issue in Nigeria right now is how to limit to the minimal level the spread of the disease which is already at the grassroots. The policy of international flights ban was rather late, because when it was implemented COVID-19 had already been imported into the country.
While extending the ban will prevent new cases from coming in from abroad, the local cases have to be dealt with squarely. The percentage of Nigerians that have ever stepped on a plane is barely about 0.09% (my assumed statistics although that is not my case because in the last 20 years I have hopped over 130 planes both local and international flights). This should mean that the great majority of Nigerias don’t use international air transportation. It is still the few fortunate ones that keep repeating the usage.
Every boycott of a means of transmission of the disease is a welcome development.

watch your words am still a citizen of Nigeria
Hahaha, if only my words could be taken serious, Nigeria will be a much better place for this current and future generations.
We self-proclaimed the “Giant of Africa” title, but we have absolutely nothing to show for it. Of what use is it to have over 200 million population when 82.9 million of that population are living in extreme poverty? We don’t have an adequate healthcare system, we have a broken down public education system, we lack seriously in power (electricity), availability of portable water in less than 30%, security-wise there is nothing to write home about, other infrastructures are seriously precarious. Nigeria is a shame, take it or take it.

Great job though! I heard the citizens of that state are suffering. Was the new acquired aircraft necessary at this time where aviation is struggling to stand on its feet?

Vision less leaders everywhere

Modified:

If this aircraft was ordered before the pandemic, what happens to cancelling the order and use the money for something more demanding?

A state where its citizens are suffering. No isolation centre, only two ventilators. just aquired an aircraft. How many planes are flying now?

Brainless leaders everywhere
Do you have an idea of the financial consequences of canceling the order? Hope you do not think it is like ordering for a bottle of groundnut and then later reject it because it looks burnt? Depending on the type of contract sign the state could even lose all the money, because the airline manufacturer or distributor fulfilled their terms and conditions.

HealthRe: 155 Persons Die In Yobe Within 6 Days Over Suspected COVID-19 by TruthSpeaker: 4:09pm On May 06, 2020
These fatalities are never included in the official numbers presented by NCDC. COVID-19 death in Nigeria has already surpassed 1000, but NDCN still paints a love story in the official report card.
Many Nigerian leaders have lost priorities. Giving traditional leaders luxury SUVs in a time of crisis is absurdly insane. All these useless politicians that abandoned their electorates just after securing victory.
EducationRe: COVID-19: Students In Wuhan, China Return To School by TruthSpeaker:
COVID-19 originated in China, but they have technically overcome the disease. Unfortunately thousands are still reported to die of the disease daily around the world. In real life, daily death rate could be well above 10,000.
China seems to be well focused in education and their technical and intelectual ability is the fruit of their effort. Not until Nigerians begin to take education really serious, we will continue to remain the giant fool of Africa.

Our government is handicap at this point hence the release of lockdown.
The truth is we can't even continue keeping people in their homes without palliatives.

Releasing of this lockdown wouldn't have been a problem if the youths wouldn't go back home to infect the elderly and those with underlying health condition. This is just the fear. If it's just for the youth, herd immunity would be developed with little fatality. It would become a win win situation.

The question is what about the elderly and those with underlying condition?
Who doesn't even have an underlying health condition??
Nigeria government can’t be trusted to live up to it’s responsibility. Corruption has already consumed the palliative fund.
Having false security by only banking on herd immunity is a grave mistake. UK tried to handle COVID-19 that way. They are still paying the high price of that error. By the end of today their official fatality will be over 30,000. It’s been a while ago that they had less than 500 deaths a day.
Mind you their real number of fatalities could be as high as 33,000.
Fatalities of patients without underlying health condition has been on the increase of late. Nobody is absolutely safe from COVID-19. Officially more than 258,800 have lost the COVID-19 battle. I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t want to give it a shut.
