Bros........ Before Saul became king, there was a curse on his office. They refused Samuels corrupt sons and God felt they refused him (another way of God) they asked for a king like every nation and God gave them a king that fulfilled there desires (tall dark hefty and from a renowned family). The office was cursed by God even before Saul assumed the post. And God picked and singled him just for his glory on David to be fulfilled. The question should be why David.
