LMAO!!!! Bachelors are amusing! cheesycheesy cheesy grin grin cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy One day you'll turn your meat into shredded meat for only for meatpie. Lol
grin grin grin I have a simple solution though.. Smoked chicken.. Doesn't taste as good as the one I cook myself but it saves a ton of time.
FoodRe: Is It Still Cheaper To Cook At Home Against Eating Out? by TSBO: 5:43pm On Mar 15, 2021
PrimadonnaO:
All correct. You cook for two hours to eat for 10 minutes. cheesy
cheesy Exactly... Now imagine having to taste every couple of minutes cos you don't have salting intuition; and then there's leaving meat on fire for an inordinate amount of time so you have no doubt about its doneness.

Lol. Culprit! Back then I first moved down to Lagos, For about 3 months, I was buying more than I was cooking because I hadn't gotten a fridge and couldn't imagine cooking everyday or dutifully warming food morning and night.

So I'll buy lunch at work.. Ikota Shopping Complex had some restaurants that sold affordable meals... I'll also buy extra for dinner when I close from work. It was honestly convenient and affordable. But that was some years ago...
Lol.. Yeah. During the full lockdown I had to cook and it was fun to an extent.. However, cooking takes an unfair amount of time (and it was worse because I had not cooked in a long while).. Eating out is much more convenient, and for 1 person, also affordable. Sometimes, a part of me wants to cook but I'm just too used to ordering/stepping out.
FoodRe: Is It Still Cheaper To Cook At Home Against Eating Out? by TSBO: 9:37am On Mar 15, 2021
PrimadonnaO:
Well, I don't know if there are still places that sell food at 100 per portion, but there must certainly still be 200 per portion. Cooking in small portions is a chore. I don't even know how to.

Convenience is a critical factor... it's why some people would very quickly buy that go through the hassles. Believe you me, many of these bachelors buy food outside more than they eat home cooked meals.
grin I actually just buy. Except for VERY easy meals. Only really cooked during the full lockdown. Man ni get choice.
FoodRe: Is It Still Cheaper To Cook At Home Against Eating Out? by TSBO: 12:44pm On Mar 14, 2021
PrimadonnaO:
Yes, cooking large portions help. But trust me, if you have a reliable buka that stills rice 100 naira, meat 50 naira, etc... that kind of place, eating out will always be more affordable for a single person.

You get to eat variety... rice, beans/moi-moi, dodo, assorted cheesy Do you know the time and cost it would take to fix that yourself?
Are there still places that you can find rice 100, meat 50 and be satisfied, even with the way inflation has accelerated over the last few years?

On affordability, interestingly, I still think cooking will be more affordable. If you buy rice, cook and eat the same number and size of meals, and also buy meat and cut them into similar sizes, you'll probably find cooking cheaper. And then, you also use cheap materials, cheap fuel (kerosene or something cheaper)., etc.

At the end of the day, it is possible to cook cheaplt, but convenience will probably be sacrificed. I guess that's part of what we pay for when we eat out.
FoodRe: Is It Still Cheaper To Cook At Home Against Eating Out? by TSBO: 12:20am On Mar 14, 2021
PrimadonnaO:
It's cheaper for single individuals who don't eat heavily.

For people who eat lightly once or twice daily, buying out might be cheaper... but only in comparison to local bukaterias.

If they want to eat from places like Mega Chicken, The Place or Radisson Blu, then of course cooking is way more affordable.
On point. Depends on where you eat, but generally speaking, it is probably cheaper to cook the same exact meal you eat outside. It helps if ypu can cook large portions and preserve them.

I won't say looks don't matter..

But note, beauty disappears in the presence of bad character; and appears in the presence of good character.

Core inflation at 11.85%.. Not looking good. Even if we say food inflation is due to structural factors and quite volatile, core inflation on the other hand is stickier. If it begins to accelerate, it may force the CBN's hand.

RomanceRe: These Tinder Girls Are Something Else! by TSBO: 3:36pm On Jan 20, 2021
It's on Nigerian Tinder that hook up = prostitution

Nigerians taint everything with greed, poverty mentality and entitlement.

In other climes, hook up just means casual sex, asking for payment is left to prostitutes.

And people are on Tinder for various reasons (serious, very serious, casual, prostitution, etc). FYI, people get into serious relationships and even get married off Tinder.

Nice one
You might need to elaborate..

To be without? Do you mean to be content with being without..?

I have decided to live my life instead of waiting or even searching for "love", and it's great. You discover how to be responsible for your own happiness without relying on another human being to be happy or "complete" (relying on God though).

RomanceRe: Men, Can You Handle An Independent, alpha Woman by TSBO: 7:39pm On Dec 28, 2020
RisenPhoenix1:
They don't understand bro. Feminists do not know that the only way a woman can successfully compete in a man's world is by using her feminity. No woman can 'outmasculinize' a man without ending up as a freak of nature. They desperately want to believe that the standards which work for men also work for women.

This is easy to discern.
I support gender equality, I don't really care about gender roles, but you know what, I know and accept that there are gender differences and it would be ill advised to ignore them in whatever guise.

I just dislike irrational fanaticism. It makes such people totally blind to nuances involved in advancing their opinions.
RomanceRe: Men, Can You Handle An Independent, alpha Woman by TSBO: 7:32pm On Dec 28, 2020
pansophist:
The idea that men cannot handle independent women is wrong, a failed attempt to encourage bad behaviours in women by calling it standards, and the ridiculous demands she have because she is earning some money. Only wild animals should be handled, not a human being. No man with a healthy sense of worth will be intimidated by a woman who is earning money. It is a lie.

Now show me a woman who earns lots of money, is feminine, respectful, submissive (not surbodinate), does not look down on her man regardless of earnings, and is beautiful, and I'll show you a woman that most men is dying to have. Such women does not stay in the market for long. Na men de rush them. My woman is who you would describe as an independent lady, with her own business and money, but her homely duties are met, no question asked. She doesn't put her earning to my face, or question my authority because she earns money. I'll also admit that I do not look at her money, and still perform my duties as if she is not rich herself.

So women, men are not shy of independent women, or whatever that shi.t means, but if a woman is rude, look down on men because she earns higher, can't marry down because of her hypergamy, disrespectful , old and just plain distasteful, then its not because you're "independent", but because you're not desirable. Weyrey de disguise grin
Too much sense in one post. Exactly my point. It is usually an attitude issue and not an independence issue..

I feel like sending you my December salary... Lol grin

Men demands respect from all angles so I simply said what will work for me. My man must be richer than me no matter how rich I get else he will have to respect me,role switch.I can't even date someone I'm richer than to begin with
Everyone deserves respect, man or woman and no one should have to demand it before they are accorded it, especially from someone they are in a relationship with.

In short, you cannot respect anyone who you are "richer" than. I guess that sums the essence of your person then. It's all clear now. You worship money and unabashedly so. It is more than "man matter".. I rise..

By the way, Buhari isn't the richest Nigerian, but I'm sure no one commands higher respect.

There is no choice but to be with independent, 'alpha' women.

In the developed world (urban cities), on average, women outearn men up until ~ age 28 when more women start trying to get children. A number of studies have proven this.

As long as there is mutual respect, there will be no problem.

Some of us completely believe in equity, at all levels. From asking out, to dating to marriage.
Word!!!

There is really no choice. I don't understand how many guys are able to cope with other choices.. As you said, it's all about mutual respect, that's all.. And that, Sir, can be very difficult for those who have been conditioned by culture to attach self and non-self esteem to money.

Anytime I see your moniker I expect bashings and I was just tempted to tow that line but I won't.

You do realise that you have effectively put a cap on your greatest achievement in life right? Except you don't want to get married. That way, in case you get richer than whomever you're with, you can dump him and try to find a richer person.

As a guy, what’s your honest thought on independent women and dating/marrying them?
I love independent, or better still non-entitled women. I do not think I can be in a relationship with an entitled woman.

The issue is not with independence, the issue is usually an attitudinal one. Being independent does not mean being arrogant, condescending, etc.. You can be independent and down-to-earth. They aren't mutually exclusive. It however seems that success can get intoxicating and then filters into behaviour.. And most people (except those who are servile) wouldn't want to have anything to do with someone who thinks they are the next best thing since sliced bread and you are a starving love refugee.. lol.

I bought a bigger car for my wife recently and I must say I didn't get appreciated like this woman did to her husband over the Christmas chicken.
To her it's my responsibility and not a big deal, but all I wanted was just a special simple show of appreciation even if it means faking it.
Meanwhile, she won't do same for me as her salary is for her while my own income is for all
How was it when you both were dating/courting? And what would be your advice for unmarried men?
