Nairaland / General / The 5 Things I Did Right In My E-commerce/importation by ttbaba(m): 8:31am On Aug 06, 2021 |
THE 5 THINGS I DID RIGHT IN MY IMPORTATION BUSINESS THAT HELPED ME SELL OUT AND MAKE OVER 2 MILLION NAIRA E-Commerce Academy THE 5 THINGS I DID RIGHT IN MY IMPORTATION BUSINESS THAT HELPED ME SELL OUT AND MAKE OVER 2 MILLION NAIRA THIS IS A 3 DAYS LIVE TRAINING THAT WILL BEGIN ON TUESDAY & END ON THURSDAY (Aug 17 - 19, 2021) In 2018, when I began my e-commerce/importation business, I settled for a product targeted at women. I priced it 3X (3 times) the costs I had used to get it from China to my location in Lagos and made over 2 million naira from that product alone. No, I did not use any funky website or a complex system. I used Facebook, the same Facebook you are using right now. And no, the product I sold was not so special, it does not even fit the category of what some might call winning products. Yes, I ran adverts on Facebook to sell my products. But the truth is, several others run adverts too and do not have the same results I had (and been having) There is a height of joy you will reach when paying customers run down your phone battery with credit alerts several times in a day. You need to experience it too! I knew I had done something right; I knew the strategies I had applied worked and my days of learning has paid off. Just so you know, importing your products successfully from China/UK/US/Dubai/Turkey has become far-less of a job than selling it. What really matters is to get customers chasing after you with their money to buy your products. Here are things I did right: Before the actual importation of the products, I had burnt the midnight oil, invested time and resources studying a lot of successful people doing e-commerce (home and abroad). I had come up with a strategic list of compulsory, yet simple things to do to secure the bag in this business of e-commerce/importation. My selling out and making millions from this business in less than 3 months of starting did not just happen - I implemented everything on my list and sales came in torrents! I have this strategic list of compulsory things to-do that helped me make my first millions from e-commerce/mini-importation. Simple, yet powerful things/steps to take that most importation 'gurus' are not focusing on. I began Ecommerce Akademy in February 2021 when I saw that many people do not have access to valid, helpful, no-nonsense information that can help them start or grow their e-commerce business. And from then till date, I have successfully trained over 847 individuals and business enthusiasts into profitability using these exact methods. In just 3 days of exciting, no-fluff, straight-to-the-point teaching, I will reveal these strategy list to you with much clarity. What will this training cost you? What I am charging for this training is NOT the worth of the training. So, no, you are 'not paying for the training' The ₦1500 you are paying is to prove to me that you will pay attention during the training and also show up on all the days of the training. What I discover with most of my free trainings is that people do not actively participate nor pay attention during training; they just occupy slots in the training thereby denying those that really need to be a part of the training, access. So, like I said, what you are paying for this training is ATTENTION and ₦1500 is the way to prove that. WARNING: I rarely hold trainings like that and whenever I decide to, several people join in. Pay NOW and do not delay. There is a technology limit to the number of people I can allow to be a part of the training. So, secure your slot for the training by jumping in now. Go ahead and make payment now. 1500 Naira is small enough to bet on me and my compulsory strategy list. I love you. See you in class. PS: When you make payment to be a part of this training, you get access to my normal MasterClass on E-Commerce/Importation where I teach my premium clients deep details of: * How to start a profitable e-commerce/importation business with zero capital * How to network & negotiate with manufacturers for better pricing and product customization * How to avoid fake/inferior items. * Complete, straight-to-the-point Facebook Adverts training * Complete Instagram for Business Training * Facebook advert strategies that help me make my first 6-figures online. * Samples of Facebook adverts that work. * Top 5 evergreen product niches that you can deal to make crazy profits * Digital marketing tools and strategies you can deploy for business growth * How to Sell your goods/inventory before they get to Nigeria. * Best way to use social media to bring in massive daily income for you. * How to leverage popular ecommerce sites to help you make easy sales. [Jumia, Konga, Jiji] * How to use Google Trends to ease your sales and marketing efforts and consumer reach. Without even saying it, the worth of this MasterClass I offer normally is well over ₦50,000 Like I said above, you get access to all of this the moment you sign up and make payment for the upcoming live 3-days training. Politics / Why Nigeria Can’t Remain Together – Wole Soyinka by ttbaba(m): 11:12am On Jul 24, 2021 |
Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka, has again said that there is no hope of Nigeria continuing together as one nation if the Federal Government fails to do the needful. According to the foremost playwright, Nigeria cannot continue as one country unless it is decentralised as a matter of urgency. Asked during an interview with Arise TV if he thinks that Nigeria can continue as one, Soyinka said, “Not if it continues this way. Not if it fails to decentralise. Some people use the word restructure, some people use the word…whatever. Not if it fails to decentralise. “If Nigeria fails to decentralise and I mean, decentralise as fast as possible, manifestly not rhetoric, then Nigeria cannot stay together. “Again this is not Wole Soyinka saying this. Generals have said it. Everybody has said; ex-heads of state have said it; analysts have said; economists have said it and that’s what is happening to the people on the streets; that’s why they’re moving; that’s why they’re demonstrating; that’s why they’re defying even threats from the police; from the government ‘if you demonstrate, you’re traitors, we’ll deal with you…we’ll speak to you in language which you’ll understand’. “It doesn’t work with anybody any longer. Because the nation is on a suicide slide and the people feel that they do not deserve that kind of suicidal plunge and they have the right to say ‘sorry o, I’m getting out of this https://dailypost.ng/2021/07/24/why-nigeria-cant-remain-together-wole-soyinka/ before it nose-dives.” 3 Likes |

Nairaland / General / Namibia: The First In A Dark Century Of Massacres--- Genocide by ttbaba(m): 5:40pm On May 29, 2021 |
1948 UN convention says genocide is ‘act committed with intent to destroy in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group’; many massacres still not recognized. PARIS — Germany recognized for the first time Friday that it committed genocide during its colonial occupation of Namibia more than a century ago. Derived from the Greek “genos” (people) and Latin “cide” (to kill), genocide is defined under a 1948 UN convention as an “act committed with intent to destroy in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group.” The Namibian massacres have been called the first genocide of the 20th century by historians. It was the first of many, some of which are still struggling for recognition. Here is an overview: The Holocaust The term genocide was used for the first time within a legal framework by the victorious Allies in 1945 to try Germany’s Nazi leaders at Nuremburg for the murder of six million Jews during World War II. The accused were eventually convicted of crimes against humanity. It paved the way for the UN’s 1948 Genocide Convention which for the first time codified the crime of genocide. The attempted extermination of Europe’s Jews by Nazis began after the invasion of Poland in 1939 and was carried out on an industrial scale in its death camps. More than a third of the world’s Jewish population died in what the Nazis called their “Final Solution to the Jewish Question.” As well as gas chambers, many were worked or starved to death and mobile mobile death squads called Einsatzgruppen mowed down one million people in what is known as the “Holocaust by bullets.” Some half a million people from ethnic groups variously known as Roma, Sinti or gypsies were also murdered, as the Nazis considered them, like the Jews, to be “subhuman.” Namibia Germany ruled what was then called German South West Africa as a colony from 1884 to 1915. Colonial troops and settlers in 1904-1908 killed tens of thousands of indigenous Herero and Nama people. Hundreds of Herero and Nama were beheaded after their deaths and their skulls were handed to German researchers in Berlin for since discredited “scientific” experiments to prove the racial superiority of whites over blacks. Friday’s announcement comes after more than five years of negotiations between Germany and Namibia, with Berlin also pledging financial support worth more than one billion euros for projects. Armenians Armenia says Ottoman forces massacred up to 1.5 million Armenians during World War I between 1915 and 1917. Last month US President Joe Biden recognized the killings as genocide in a watershed for descendants of those who died. Starting with Uruguay in 1965, nations including France, Germany, Canada and Russia have previously recognized the genocide. But a clear US statement had proved elusive under previous presidents worried about damaging relations with Washington’s key NATO ally Turkey. The charge is vehemently rejected by Turkey — inheritor of the trunk of the empire — which admits nonetheless that vast numbers of Armenians perished as the Ottomans battled tsarist Russia. But it claims as many Turks died and denies the existence of a deliberate policy of genocide. Rwanda The Rwandan genocide began in April 1994 shortly after the ethnic Hutu president was killed when his plane was shot down. For 100 days militias and soldiers from the Hutu majority butchered men, women and children from the Tutsi minority. The killing ended only when the Tutsi-led Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) took over in July 1994, having defeated the Hutu extremists. At least 800,000 people, mostly Tutsis and some moderate Hutus, were killed, according to the UN. The UN set up the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda which issued the world’s first genocide conviction in 1998. The court tried several dozen people before it wrapped up its work in 2015. Trials of Rwandan genocide suspects have also taken place in Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland. Sudan The International Criminal Court in 2010 added three genocide counts to charges against Sudan’s then president Omar al-Bashir over fighting that erupted in Darfur in 2003 and which the UN estimates has left 300,000 dead. Bashir has repeatedly denied the charges. He was the first sitting president of a country to be wanted by the ICC, and the first person to be charged with genocide. Rohingya Another 21st century crime is the massacres of the Muslim Rohingya people who are widely seen as illegal immigrants in Myanmar, denied citizenship and stripped of rights. Myanmar is facing a barrage of legal challenges to hold it accountable over the alleged genocide against its Rohingya population in 2017. This includes a case launched by Gambia at the International Court of Justice, the UN’s top court in The Hague. The ICC also approved an investigation into the military crackdown that forced some 740,000 Rohingya to flee. UN investigators in 2018 branded the bloody expulsion a genocide, and called for the prosecution of Myanmar’s top generals. 1 picture:The German Kamelreiterpatrouille, or ‘Camel Rider Patrol,’ in Southwest Africa, 1906 – 1918. Nairaland / General / Bernie Madoff, Who Orchestrated $16 Billion Ponzi Scheme, Dies In Prison At 82 by ttbaba(m): 6:21pm On Apr 14, 2021 |
Disgraced financier admitted to swindling thousands of clients over decades, wiping out their fortunes and ruining charities and foundations, many of them in the Jewish world. NEW YORK (AP) — Bernie Madoff, the financier who pleaded guilty to orchestrating a massive Ponzi scheme, died in a federal prison early Wednesday, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press. Madoff died at the Federal Medical Center in Butner, North Carolina, apparently from natural causes, the person said. The person was not authorized to speak publicly and spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity. Last year, Madoff’s lawyers filed court papers to try to get the 82-year-old released from prison in the COVID-19 pandemic, saying he had suffered from end-stage renal disease and other chronic medical conditions. The request was denied. Madoff admitted swindling thousands of clients out of billions of dollars in investments over decades. A court-appointed trustee has recovered more than $13 billion of an estimated $17.5 billion that investors put into Madoff’s business. At the time of Madoff’s arrest, fake account statements were telling clients they had holdings worth $60 billion. For decades, Madoff enjoyed an image as a self- made financial guru whose Midas touch defied market fluctuations. A former chairman of the Nasdaq stock market, he attracted a devoted legion of investment clients — from Florida retirees to celebrities such as famed film director Steven Spielberg, actor Kevin Bacon, and Hall of Fame pitcher Sandy Koufax. But his investment advisory business was exposed in 2008 as a multibillion-dollar Ponzi scheme that wiped out people’s fortunes and ruined charities and foundations. He became so hated he had to wear a bulletproof vest to court. Madoff pleaded guilty in March 2009 to securities fraud and other charges, saying he was “deeply sorry and ashamed.” After several months living under house arrest at his $7 million Manhattan penthouse apartment, he was led off to jail in handcuffs to scattered applause from angry investors in the courtroom. “He stole from the rich. He stole from the poor. He stole from the in-between. He had no values,” former investor Tom Fitzmaurice told the judge at the sentencing. “He cheated his victims out of their money so he and his wife … could live a life of luxury beyond belief.” US District Judge Denny Chin showed no mercy, sentencing Madoff to the maximum 150 years in prison. “Here, the message must be sent that Mr. Madoff’s crimes were extraordinarily evil and that this kind of irresponsible manipulation of the system is not merely a bloodless financial crime that takes place just on paper, but it is instead… one that takes a staggering human toll,” Chin said. The Madoffs also took a severe financial hit: A judge issued a $171 billion forfeiture order in June 2009 stripping Madoff of all his personal property, including real estate, investments, and $80 million in assets his wife, Ruth, had claimed were hers. The order left her with $2.5 million. The scandal also exacted a personal toll on the family: One of his sons, Mark, killed himself on the second anniversary of his father’s arrest in 2010. And Madoff’s brother, Peter, who helped run the business, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2012, despite claims he was in the dark about his brother’s misdeeds. Madoff’s other son, Andrew, died from cancer at age 48. Ruth is still living. Madoff was sent to do what amounted to a life sentence at Butner Federal Correctional Complex, about 45 miles northwest of Raleigh, North Carolina. A federal prison website listed his probable release date as November 11, 2139. Madoff was born in 1938 in a lower-middle-class Jewish neighborhood in Queens. In the financial world, the story of his rise to prominence — how he left for Wall Street with Peter in 1960 with a few thousand dollars saved from working as a lifeguard and installing sprinklers — became legend. “They were two struggling kids from Queens. They worked hard,” said Thomas Morling, who worked closely with the Madoff brothers in the mid-1980s setting up and running computers that made their firm a trusted leader in off-floor trading. “When Peter or Bernie said something that they were going to do, their word was their bond,” Morling said in a 2008 interview. In the 1980s, Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities occupied three floors of a midtown Manhattan high-rise. There, with his brother and later two sons, he ran a legitimate business as middlemen between the buyers and sellers of stock. Madoff raised his profile by using the expertise to help launch Nasdaq, the first electronic stock exchange, and became so respected that he advised the Securities and Exchange Commission on the system. But what the SEC never found out was that behind the scenes, in a separate office kept under lock and key, Madoff was secretly spinning a web of phantom wealth by using cash from new investors to pay returns to old ones. Authorities say that over the years, at least $13 billion was invested with Madoff. An old IBM computer cranked out monthly statements showing steady double-digit returns, even during market downturns. As of late 2008, the statements claimed investor accounts totaled $65 billion. The ugly truth: No securities were ever bought or sold. Madoff’s chief financial officer, Frank DiPascali, said in a guilty plea in 2009 that the statements detailing trades were “all fake.” His clients, many Jews like Madoff and Jewish charities, said they didn’t know. Among them was Nobel Peace Prize winner and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel, who recalled meeting Madoff years earlier at a dinner where they talked about history, education, and Jewish philosophy — not money. Madoff “made a very good impression,” Wiesel said during a 2009 panel discussion on the scandal. Wiesel admitted that he bought into “a myth that he created around him that everything was so special, so unique, that it had to be secret.” Like many of his clients, Madoff and his wife enjoyed a lavish lifestyle. They had a $7 million Manhattan apartment, an $11 million estate in Palm Beach, Florida, and a $4 million home on the tip of Long Island. There was yet another home in the south of France, private jets and a yacht. It all came crashing down in the winter of 2008 with a dramatic confession at Madoff’s 12th-floor apartment on the Upper East Side. In a meeting with his sons, he confided that his business was “all just one big lie.” After the meeting, a lawyer for the family contacted regulators, who alerted the federal prosecutors and the FBI. Madoff was in a bathrobe when two FBI agents arrived at his door unannounced on a December morning. He invited them in, then confessed after being asked “if there’s an innocent explanation,” a criminal complaint said. Madoff responded: “There is no innocent explanation.” As he had from the start, Madoff insisted in his plea that he acted alone — something the FBI never believed. As agents scoured records for evidence of a broader conspiracy and cultivated DiPascali as a cooperator, the scandal turned Madoff into a pariah, evaporated life fortunes, wiped out charities, and apparently pushed some investors to commit suicide. A trustee was appointed to recover funds — sometimes by suing hedge funds and other large investors who came out ahead — and divvying up those proceeds to victims. The search for Madoff’s assets “has unearthed a labyrinth of interrelated international funds, institutions, and entities of almost unparalleled complexity and breadth,” the trustee, Irving Picard, said in a 2009 report. The report said the trustee has located assets and businesses “of interest” in 11 places: Great Britain, Ireland, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Spain, Gibraltar, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas. More than 15,400 claims against Madoff were filed. https://www.timesofisrael.com/bernie-madoff-who-orchestrated-16-billion-ponzi-scheme-dies-in-prison-at-82/

Nairaland / General / Biafra: Pay Taxes To Us Or Face Impending Doom by ttbaba(m): 2:16pm On Apr 11, 2021 |
Biafra Nations League, BNL, has asked oil companies operating in Bakassi Peninsula to start paying taxes to its (BNL)leadership or face the impending doom that will befall the region. The secessionist group said that the oil companies would be spared if they start paying tax to its leadership. Deputy National Leader of BNL, and Head of Operations BBS Media, Ebuta Akor Takon, in a statement to DAILY POST, warned that the group will not take it lightly with any company that failed to yield to their demand. The group, which had earlier issued a quit notice to oil companies in the region, warned of impending doom that will soon befall companies if they fail to leave, threatening to “take them unawares and they will run.” BNL further threatened to pull down billboards bearing ‘Republic of Cameroon’ in Cameroon controlled towns of Bakassi Peninsula. According to them, this is a way of sanctioning President Paul Biya for allegedly killing their supporters in the region. “We won’t disclose the date. We have kept our date secret. it will happen like a film trick, we are only making it known so that when it happens, no need to say it is unknown gunmen or unknown group or bandits, it is BNL,” the group boasted. https://dailypost.ng/2021/04/11/biafra-pay-taxes-to-us-or-face-impending-doom-bnl-threatens-oil-companies-cameroon-govt/
