i.e I can come to Nigeria with my Rands Pulas Shillings etc and its not a crime to have that money but if I want to buy something I have to convert that said money into Naira! Do you get my point?
I cannot carry out business on a day to day using foreign money buying and selling unless its legal to do so in whichever country I am in!

Thats governments come in and decide whether or not its legal for certain currencies to be used in day to day business activities by the whole populace!

Those individuals and companies you mention were licensed to do so by the very same government you are villifying, and they were mostly government owned companies! So whichever way you look at it at least you agree that it was the government of the day that allowed dual currencies to be used!

The decision to use a basket of foreign currencies to counter the effect of inflation was taken by the then ZANU PF gvt when Patrick Chinamasa was acting Finance Minister some 3 months before the unity gvt. The unity government has afforded us a little breathing space and indeed its the new MDC-T Finance minister Tendai Biti who is lamenting the effect of the financial sanctions imposed on our country. He has come out on more then one occassion calling on his masters to lift sanctions on a number of our parastatals to no effect, and allow us to trade on a level playing field.
As of now the vindictive paragons of virtue are trying by all means to ban our diamonds. They certainly do not want us to succeed without their tainted and poisonous AID!!

Zim had to adopt unorthodox methods to pull their economy back. For years, Western underhand pressures had ensured that Zimbabwe could not trade internationally, running down and devaluing the local currency. Way out? Adopt the enemies currency and see if they will run themselves down. Neat stroke!

Even as developed as the US is today it is indebted to the tune of trillions of dollars. This simply means that the US today cannot even afford to pay its debts. This also means that even the US is being sustained by credit lines being granted it by the likes of World bank and IMF. Now, when a nation as developed as the US depends on these credit lines and loans to survive how do you think a country like Zimbabwe would fair when the IMF and co chose to freeze or with hold what the country had access to before?


All these back and forth started from your claim that the IMF and the World bank had nothing to do with the economic problem in Zimbabwe and that was the basis for my position that debating anything with you would amount to a huge waste of time if such a position should be allowed to stand.

I never stated that only IMF crippled the economy of Zimbabwe, I merely highlighted and applauded the people of Zimbabwe and the president for growing the economy in spite of what the IMF and the World bank did to the country.

As for your claim that the land reform is making Zimbabweans poorer and dependent on aid, how come the economy is growing?
