I wonder how he is able to appreciate the problem of multiplicity of states while overlooking that of the abuse of the immunity clause.Honestly that beats me too..even though e gave a valid point for d immunity issue, I still believe removal of it is more on point. Simply becos even with d immunity our useless governors don't do anything. So his point of distraction is not even applicable here becos its only wen u r working that u get distracted. Instead d removal will only distract them from stealing(which is d only work most of dem do anyway). For Pete sake people shouldn't abuse dis man..his arguments always sound reasonable even if u don't agree with him totally on some. On immunity clause I disagree with him a little bit, but on state creation I totally agree with him, creation of more states wen even d existing ones cannot fend for demselves. We are complaining of cost governance yet we want more states, we should know that means more convoys, more thieving commissioners, more useless special advisers n personal assistants, more security votes, more administrative cost, more persons enjoying immunity from prosecution..walahi d cost is huge etc. @ dis point in time we do not need more states in dis country basically becos d ones on ground cannot even sustain demselves. It is just very unfortunate dt our useless leaders will use dis as an avenue to score cheap points as we approach 2015. Everything has a merit n demerit but I believe now that our aim is to try and cost down cost of governance, state creation is a complete opposite of that aim. 1 Like |

The dishonourable legislators know one of their own is already down n what they are trying to do is to take the otedola down along with farouk. Its not gona be easy for them though. In Nigeria the President is d Almighty. D kind of system we run is faulty..d president can do and undo. Telling efcc to investigate otedola is like telling goodluck to investigate himself. All of u that think death for corrupt officers is too harsh..dats becos u do not know how dese people steal ur money and how they spend it. Maybe u need to live in abuja for just 1month to know the depth of what dese people av done to our commonwealth. I think death for corrupt officials or 21yrs non-negotiable, no plea bargain...dt would be very ideal...d demons in abuja are more dan d ones in hell. All of u saying the police should have arrested farouk, thats not possible. Otedola gave his side of the story, farouk too needs to state his side. Its after him not honouring this invitation that the police can now go ahead and arrest him. Obviously the farouk guy is buying time so his fellow crooks can provide a sort of cover for him at their dishonourable sitting tomorrow. But seriously he can come out this mess clean. According to reports he went to otedolas house alone around 4am in the morning. Meaning he has no witness. Since he did not inform the police before the operations( he dun enter wahala already). As it is after their dishonourable sitting in that God forsaken chamber tomorrow, there is every possibility he will be picked up by the police. This is not to say otedola is not a thief too, but on this case otedola played like a complete street boy, comfirmed strategist. Karma will definitely hunt him down someday but not on this case. I will also be surprised if otedola did not carry jonathan along in this so called sting operation. Perfect way for goodluck to get back at farouk for dishonouring his choice of house speakership. Sentiments will kill us in dis country... If we continue to be sentimental about issues like this we will continue to play into d hands of our enemies/leaders. ArumahOteh is a woman I like so much But we must all admit that she ran SEC like a private business. Here's a woman that employed numerous staffs and when her subordinates questioned that due process was not followed she turned deaf ears. She told d investigation panel that she intends to inform d board to ratify d recruitments even after several board meetings had been held after those recruitments. Yet someone said dey r witch-hunting her. She stayed in a transcorp executive suite for 8months on taxpayers bill...do u know ow many small scale businesses dt money will set up. In a country where people are looking for 50k as start-up capital, someone slept in a 100k/day apartment 4 240days..I dnt even want to go into d technicalities error she made on d job.
