Politics › Re: List The Problems In Nigeria And Your Possible Solution by tunapawizzy: 2:46pm On May 19, 2012
Obviously division has eaten deep into the system. We appear so diverse that some us believe the talked about unity in diversity is not a practicable concept. This country has defied all solution. We d electorates are not helping matters either. We will all complain about the government in our living room and on nairaland.....election day go come, na still under umbrella we go thumbprint. PDP is clearly this nations problem, they have opportunity to make things right but they have decided to keep protecting their own interests and those of their cronies. I strongly believe the unity of this country called nigeria will get its last chance in 2015 if we d electorates don't vote PDP out n defend our votes. So our problem is that the PDP government is politically using ethnicity diversity and religion to cause division amongst us.....zoning n federal character will never bring up best candidates for any position especially the presidency. To get it right we have to vote this monster out. We should eschew the temptation to want to vote along ethic or religious divides. If we can't do this then our suffering just begin in this country

mimifonwon: 1.I believe that the first step to helping solve our problems is to let each state be independent of the government, more like a confederation.
2. There should be education on anti tribalism for the youths( we cannot help our parents they have already made up their mind)
3. Create a separate branch of the government or rather give the legislative branch more power to do checks and balances on each branch of the government.
4. Talk and insist that each school speaks to all youths about the civil war because i see it as the big elephant in the room that everyone always ignore.
5. They need to create an new law enforcement branch that ranges from the likes of fbi, cia, state police, and local police-kinda like the usa, in that each level has more power as the ranks increases over the other.
6. They need to remove sharia law out of our constitution and make sure that everyone is given the right to practice any religion, without being mandated to behave or wear certain clothes just because they are in a state that is predominantly muslim.
7. There should be a private non nigerian firm that investigates and prosecutes former public officials who cannot account for missing funds during their reign.
8. There should be a special prison for them and their properties and businesses should be seized until they make account of the missing funds
9. Implement a program that helps youths who choose not to go to school so tehy can learn a trade(not everyone is school material).
10. Free education in all state from elementary to highschool
11. Each registered political party sponsors must be made known publicly and the amount they donate- I call this transperant pre-leadership.
12. Each person must make known of their net worth prior to entering public office and it must be published
13. Each state should be incharge of their own electricity, water and sanitary
14. To eliminate stealing and kleptocracy we need a weekly published account of the national debt and the amount of money that comes in and out of the country's treasury.
15. AND IF ALL THESE DOESNT WORK, I IMPLORE THAT WE DO WHAT GHANIANS DID TO THEIR THIEVING LEADERS, LINE THEM UP AND SHOOT THEM TO DEATH AND BLOCK AND SEIZE THEIR FAMILY ACCOUNTS AND PROPERTY UNTIL THEY CAN PROVE THEY MADE IT LEGALLLY.

P.S though i want separation of each region for their own welfare, i think economically that many south-south and south easterners will loose out of their fortunes because most of their businesses and properties are in another man's land like lagos and abuja, and i wouldnt leave my mansion and business for another man to occupy just cause i have to move back to my tribal region, nope. So division wont work fairly for everyone.
Y should we fool around with recommendations 1 -14 when u and I know recommendation 15 is the only way out of this problem. It will also serve as a deterrent for others. If u know say death na punishment for stealing nobody will steal.

Mmuo Okija: I could think of over 50 ways to turn this into a Tribal issue... But a little girls life is at stake here so... Heres the other me;

First of all, I find it very disturbing that many parents tend to have absolutely zero regards for the security and well-being of their kids. This isnt peculiar to winners chapel at all, so dont worry, I havent started bashing Oyedepo. If many of you here would be honest, look at the childrens department in your churches and imagine how easy it would be for a child predator to waalk in and take away a child. The security around them are lax, the guardians in charge are lacadesical and the entire set-up is a waste.

Thats why it is advisable to parents to keep their kids with them in the "ADULT" section of the church. It is not as if in the adult section, profanity or curse words are used.. Keeping your kids with you during the service gives the parents a better advantage to have an idea where their child is and what their child is doing.. Also, the parennts get to explain the preaching to their kids. In the so-called childrens department in most churches, the kids barely learn anything.

Now!! OYEDEPO... No surprises.. He didnt sense any evil.. Yet the girl is missing. And it didnt occur to the witch-slapping Preacher to call the police and put out an APBwith the girls picture immediately the incident was reported... NO!! He was more interested in proecting the image of his church and buying jets..

The parents should sue him and Winners to court for criminal negligence.. and damages to the tune of 50 billion Naira.
5billion naira too small jor....5 billion dollars is ideal....I really shake ma head for dese men of God. Like u said dey only thing they care about is how to conquer d world (so says d bible according 2 some of Oyedepos blind followers). D parents should take majority of d blame anyways..so becos Oyedepo said he didn't see any evil they chose not to report to security agents. With that act of omission they don't deserve to have children i swear. In all dese its d little missing girl i pity..i just pray she's still alive n fine....For now d parents should stop acting like idiots, and report d matter to d security agents.

Going through posts here i weep 4 dis country. Why have allowed useless n baseless division to finish us in dis nation....Religion, tribe, language Haba...very soon una go begin division along complexion, height divides again.....d problem of dis country is not corrupt/wicked leadership...na we d followers wey no get sense to elect credible leadership. I just read comments here and i weep.. Just like someone said earlier d governor of ur state is stealing d money meant to develop ur state..yet u r here campaigning based on ethnicity .....even if our leaders av robbed us of our resources..have dey also robbed us of our common sense. That ur village man is dere does not guarantee a better 2moro 4 u...let's not sell our conscience n votes on d basis of tribal affiliations. The votes that will really make d difference r d votes of youths, pls let's use it wisely to av a better 2moro. I'm not campaigning 4 anybody but i will give my vote to whoever i think will rule us rightly.. Let's be wise 4 once...Haba..fine we can av different opinions about who we think is best to rule us ..but if our reasons r based on ethnic/religious/any useless affiliation, then we are as useless n stupid as our evil leaders...(If not more sef)

Dear Doctors in d house..dnt get me wrong i am not saying LASG has not reneged on its promises..i am not saying u should make financial sacrifices 4 d state, i am not saying doctors r not crucial in d society, What baffles me is how do u people feel to know dat people are dying because of ur actions (its irrelevant if u r ryt or wrong)..People are dying...as far as i'm concerned una no different from BokoHaram wey dey blow people (directly/indirectly both BH n Lagos doctors r sacrificing lives)

DaShyGuy: PrettyCindy, I feel ur pains absolutely. My advice is, concentrate for now on raising up ur son in a very decent manner. Leave love outta the equation @ the mo, coz, chances are that u might get hurt again. And in all things u do, always remember that u have a precious gift from God, for whom u owe a responsibility of care and love.
Cheers and be strong.
PrettyCindy i honestly think this is d best advice u can get 4 now. Concentrate on showing ur son absolute love and care. Fine @ 28 age is not on ur side. But honestly u should concentrate more on ur lovely son. That is not to say u shouldn't make urself available 4 suitors. But if i were you i would face d gift God gave me(the son). Marriage is only good when u can get a partner that genuinely loves you, otherwise its just thrash n unnecessary bondage: My opinion.

She should have tried it in ANY part of SOUTHERN Nigeria.
She would have been kidnapped or killed!
She needs to go back to Akwa Ibom to continue her good works!

Boko Haram in not interested in western education or 'Chemistry' lessons.
She should try to get herself reposted from the North.
I am concerned about her welfare.
This is no time to play "the hero" in Northern Nigeria!
