The deafening silence from the Presidency in what has become the daily maiming, killing and destruction of properties by the marauding Fulani herdsmen in Nigeria only brings to mind the betrayal of the pigs who lead the revolt in George Orwell's satire "Animal farm", whose slogan becomes: "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. I don't want to believe our leaders are trying to tell Nigerians that the lives of some Nigerians matters than the rest.


This madness started long ago, but the brazen attacks on innocent citizen increased 1000% since President Muhammadu Buhari, who himself is a Fulani assumed power after a landslide victory in the 2015 general elections.


The number of Nigerians killed by Fulani herdsmen in the last 10 months is over 1000, from the attacks on the Agatu people in Benue State to the kidnapping of the elders-statesman and former secretary to the government of the federation "Chief Olu Falae and must recently the Monday attacks on Uzo Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, which led to the loss of hundreds of lives and destruction of properties worth millions of Naira.

My questions are, Are we on a road to a Rwandan style genocide where an estimated 500,000 to 1,000,000 Rwandans were killed during the 100-day period from April 7 to mid-July 1994. Where the Hutu tribe led government mass-slaughtered the Tutsi tribe?...

Are we going to fold our arms, watch and wait till these marauders and bloodthirsty herdsmen kill us all?

When will President Buhari, address the nation on this crisis?

A massive blast believed to have been triggered by firecrackers in storage area killed over 100 people and injured more than 200 during a firework display at a Hindu temple during the Puttingal temple festival grand finale.

The explosion in Paravur, Kerala, is believed to have happened at around 3.30am local time (6pm EST), The Times of India reported.

The temple was gutted as huge flames engulfed the building within minutes, trapping devotees inside.
Thousands of people were inside when the temple burst into flame, with sections of the building collapsing during the blaze.

A Piper Apache Twin Engine plane that went down over a lake in Argentina on October 19, 1964 has been found more than half a century after it crashed.

The discovery was made by a local who found part of the plane's wing after the lake evaporated.

The Plane had four people on board, the pilot and three engineers working for the Pan American Argentine Oil Company, when it went down into the Colhue Huapi lake in Argentina in 1964.

Two rescue and search efforts in 1964 and 1980 were unsuccessful, but workers never recovered the plane, a Piper Apache Twin Engine, which sank into the lake.

However the lake evaporated over time, exposing the remains of the aircraft.
The rest of the plane was buried beneath the ground.

The Skeletons of the four people on board were found in the wreckage of the doomed plane.

Locals who uncovered the plane matched its registration number with that of the missing flight and informed aviation authorities.

The Colhue Huapi lake has been retreating for decades, steadily evaporating due to a lack of rain and pressures on the local water supply.

Two North Carolina electricians had the fright of their lives recently when they open an electricity box for repairs and found two big snakes inside.

Luckily for the workmen both reptiles were dead.

One of the snakes died trying to bite an electric cable, the other died while biting it's companion's tail.

The workmen from the town of Morganton, North Carolina, USA posted a photo on the local council's Facebook page on April 4 and it has since received close to 4000 likes.

The men had gone to the house to disconnect the power at a property that was about to be demolished.

The post, on the City of Morganton Facebook page, said it was not uncommon for workers to find snakes but it was always scary.

“Electric Services Director Brooks Kirby said his guys come across fried snakes every two or three years, and that’s one time too many,” read the post.

Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello, the FCTA Minister, while speaking yesterday when members of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, NIESV paid him a courtesy visit told the body that the Federal Government of Nigeria would soon put in place a law that would force downward, cost of accommodation in the Federal Capital Territory.


He explained that the current Buhari-led administration was deeply concerned with the high cost of housing in the territory and was working out modalities that would guarantee access to decent accommodation by the masses and less privileged.


The Minister who tasked members of NIESV on a viable solution to end high cost of accommodation in Abuja, also challenged the body to have a downward review of their professional fee, stressing that although the concept of estate development was a very commendable one, the industry was facing many challenges in the capital city, questioning the rationale behind payment of rent on annual basis in the country.

He further pointed out that as a professional body that was primarily concerned with provision of houses, the NIESV has a burden of ensuring that accommodation does not get out of the reach of the common man.

Bello said, “As a body, you must take deliberate steps to bring down the cost of accommodation through reduction of your charges and commissions.

“I know that you charge between 10-15% but I think that rate needs to come down, else at some point in the future, legislation will force you to bring it down.’’

The Minister wondered why Nigerian citizens would pay rent on a yearly basis whereas in developed countries such as United Kingdom and United states, tenants pay rents on a monthly basis.

He queried, “Why should we pay rent annually in Nigeria; why should we pay two, three years in advance.

“All the people you see here including the Minister get their rent allowance on a monthly basis, only very few organisations in Nigeria pay rent allowance annually in bulk.

“Why can’t we start asking our tenants to pay rent monthly even if they are in Asokoro, Maitama or wherever?”

The Minister disclosed that as part of the moves to make housing affordable in Abuja, the FCT Administration has put the necessary measures in place to ensure that all plots of land not developed within a stipulated period would be revoked and re-allocated to willing developers, adding that the number of uncompleted buildings and empty estate houses in the city was very alarming and a committee would soon be set up to look into the issue.

The end has not been heard in the #EkitiGate saga as the controversial former secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti state Dr. Tope Aluko, drops another bombshell, Aluko, who appeared in a video alongside Governor Ayodele Fayose on Sunday, April 3 in a purported reconciliation said the whole thing was stage managed.

Aluko had told the whole world how the 2014 governorship election in Ekiti State was rigged in favour of Fayose. Aluko’s turn around with a purported reconciliation with Fayose at the weekend baffled many as he was tagged unserious.


While speaking at Renaissance Hotel, Ikeja on Tuesday, April 5, Dr. Aluko stated that he was tricked into the purported reconciliation staged over the weekend by two high ranking PDP members. Excerpts from his press briefing below:

“I need to emphasize that all that transpired at Eko hotel on that fateful day was an organized propaganda, drama to stain my image and malign my personal integrity and I believe it would be a good script for Nollywood Act. I was told to come to Eko hotel to meet with them and I went in company of my wife.
“We were half way in the discussion which they tagged as a peace parley. It should be noted that no reference was made to the 2014 Governorship election and the aftermath including my revelation to the public about the way the election was manipulated in favour of Ayo Fayose.
“I was shocked to see Governor Fayose walk into the meeting at this point. It was worthy of note that it was at this point that my wife barged into the meeting to inform me that he noticed the presence of pressmen downstairs and said, “there is a problem” but it was Fayose who interrupted her and said, “Madam, there is no problem” but my wife insisted and said she overheard them saying that they were called back with an SMS from Governor Fayose “because T.K Aluko is around,” he explained.
Aluko said at that point he became enraged and decided to leave the place but that he noticed Fayose rushing after him downstairs in a Gestapo manner.
“My wife was already fidgeting and almost crying and suddenly I could not find her around me. Immediately, I realized that I need to oblige to Governor Fayose’s instruction of facing the press because of the safety of my family. One fact remains clear, there is nowhere I refuted anything I had earlier said before Nigerians and the whole world about the manipulations that characterized the 2014 Governorship elections in Ekiti State,” he stated.

The United State government has acknowledged the efforts of the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration in curbing the activities of the dreaded Islamist group, Boko Haram in the northeast of Nigeria.

US secretary of state, John Kerry, while Speaking at a joint press conference with Nigeria's foreign affairs minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, echoed that the Buhari led administration had reduced the capacity of boko haram.

”It is an outrage that any group, anywhere, will brian wash young people, including little girls, to strap explosives to their bodies and walk into an open market place with the intent of murdering their own families, neighbours, and themselves, that is what Boko Haram does.”

He told those at the press conference that the American and Nigerian government are cooperating to defeat the terrorist group, adding that ”the group still remains a threat.”

Kerry stated that Nigeria’s progress is vital to the US government and to all of Africa.

On his part, Onyeama told his American counterpart that President Buhari has delivered his promise to defeat the terrorist group.

”We have indeed defeated them technically and militarily. What we do have now is what happens in a number of countries around the world. Suicide bombers, using young girls and having themselves blow up in markets places, using improvised devices, ” Onyeama said.

He called for further assistance from the United States government in the areas of rehabilitating internally displaced persons. adding that ”insurgency is draining our resources.”

For stealing $31 worth of candy bars, this Louisiana man faces a possible sentence of 20 years to life in prison 'weird you said', even a judge had to question whether the sentence was "over the top."

Orleans Parish prosecutors chose to charge Jacobia Grimes, 34, under a statute that boosts the alleged candy theft to a felony. The law applies to people who have been convicted of "theft of goods" at least twice. Grimes has five prior theft convictions, making him a "quad" offender under the state's habitual-offender law.


Grimes, 34, pleaded not guilty Thursday, The New Orleans Advocate reported.

The possible sentence raised questions with Judge Franz Zibilich, who was overseeing Grimes' arraignment last week.

"Isn't this a little over the top?" Zibilich said. "Twenty years to life for a Snickers bar, or two or three or four."

Grimes' attorneys, Miles Swanson and Michael Kennedy, said his prior guilty pleas were for similar shoplifting attempts, including stealing from a Rite-Aid, Save-A-Center, Blockbuster Video, and Rouses grocery stores.

Swanson said all the thefts were for less than $500 worth of items. The last theft of socks and trousers from a Dollar General store got him a four-year sentence in 2010.

One of his lawyers said he could have been charged under a different statute than the habitual-offender law.

Doctors in Brazil have devised a brilliant idea to save the hand of a 42-year-old machine production operator from being amputated by putting it inside a pocket in his belly.

Carlos Mariotti, suffered a horrific work accident that ripped off all the skin on his hand but doctors decided to bury his damaged mitt in the soft tissue pouch for six weeks to save the hand from infections.

Orthopaedic and traumatology doctor Boris Brandao, who performed the rare operation, explained: 'Mr Marriott suffered a de-gloving injury which left him with very little skin on the palm and back of his hand, exposing the bones and tendons inside.

'This was a very large and delicate injury and the only place we could fit the whole hand was in the abdomen.


'Without this procedure, there would be a high risk of infection and the tissue and tendons would rot away.'

That trip to a diary farm in Kenya is beneath the dignity of the Vice President's office. It should have been undertaken by the Permanent Secretary and some Directors in the Ministry of Agriculture. Yet, the Nigerian President put one leg after another leg and went to Nairobi.

That trip to Equatorial Guinea? I am still trying to tell what the heck it was about beyond the preoccupation of Baba Alainikanse with shaving his dog's head in the folktale.

Now he is in Washington DC - on the only trip that he should perhaps have undertaken out of Nigeria since his election and he is being criticized and hit by 180 million people who have become too used to his useless foreign trips undertaken to shave the head of a dog.

Even the most sophisticated critics are asking: what is he doing in a nuclear summit?
Well, he is doing everything that is relevant. This summit is not about nuclear powers.

President Obama convened it to address the perennial danger of loose nuclear material - a consequence of the collapse of the Soviet Union - getting into the hands of terrorists.

If you are the leader of any of the countries that is helpless in fighting terrorism, this summit is for you. How do we prevent Al Qaeda, ISIS, Al Shabab, and Boko Haram from gaining access to nuclear material and allied dirty bombs?

Combating nuclear proliferation and the spread of fissile material: this is what this Washington summit is about in the main. It is not about states with nuclear capability. If it was about that, Nigeria would have no business there. It is about weak and underdeveloped states, ravaged by terrorism, that are vulnerable to loose fissile material.

Imagine Boko Haram getting fissile material. Even with their conventional weapons, you have only defeated them technically in two administrations after your soldiers did technical maneuvers.
If you are defeating them only technically when they have conventional weapons, how are you going to defeat them when they get fissile material? Professionally?

That is why Buhari is in DC. This, for me, is the first non-useless trip of his entire Presidency.
Of course, the ineffectual buffoons in his media team have been unable to sell this straightforward narrative. They are too busy reprimanding Nigerians for complaining about fuel scarcity and darkness to know how to provide a logical basis for their Oga's only worthwhile foreign trip.

But what do I know? Nigeria being Nigeria, President Buhari is perfectly capable of returning from this DC trip and heading out the next day to attend the birthday of the President of Djibouti.

When you have 11 planes, your ways are not like the ways of those queuing for fuel in Lagos and Abuja.

A hated figure for many in Mexico, went up in flames during the Easter eve "Burning of Judas" a tradition in which Mexicans burn effigies of the devil or public figures they dislike. This year Mexicans, burned an effigy of Republican Presidential front-runner in the US Presidential election Donald Trump.

A smiling effigy of the billionaire American business mogul went up in flames in a neighborhood of the Mexican capital city, this year the devil took the form of Trump, who is notorious here for comments made during his presidential campaign accusing Mexican immigrants in the United States of being criminals and rapists.

About 200 people attended the event late Saturday, in which a six-foot (two-meter) papier-mache likeness of Trump wearing a blue suit, white shirt and red tie was torched.

The figure was created by Felipe Linares, who has been making effigies for more than 50 years at a workshop founded by his father in the early 20th century.

This year he made likenesses of the devil, President Enrique Pena Nieto, Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa and Trump -- all of which went up in flames.

Linares told AFP the likeness of Trump was chosen "because we don't like him. He speaks ill of Mexicans."

He was referring to the real estate tycoon's remarks on the campaign trail describing Mexican migrants as criminals and rapists.

The Holy Week tradition of burning effigies is believed to symbolically dispel evil, while torching the Judas figure exacts revenge for the death of Jesus.

Since making his remarks, Trump has become a figure of scorn in Mexico.

Some have made pinatas resembling the Republican frontrunner, while one artist produced shirts decorated with his image along with a vulgarity.

An opinion poll this month found some 61 percent of Mexicans hold a negative opinion of Trump, who has vowed to force Mexico to pay for a huge wall across the US border to stop illegal migration.

Just a few days after the Brussels double suicide attacks that killed at least 34, Another suicide bomber struck today near a crowded children's playing area in Lahore Pakistan killing at least 65 people and hundreds injured, many of them children as Christians were celebrating Easter Sunday.

Officials said the bomber had detonated the explosives, packed with ball bearings, near a children's playing area in the popular Gulshan-i-Iqbal park.

Witnesses said they could hear children screaming as people carried the injured in their arms, while frantic relatives searched for loved ones in nightmarish scenes at the park near the centre of the city of eight million.

Doctors described frenzied scenes at hospitals, with staff treating casualties on floors and in corridors, as officials tweeted calls for blood donations.


"It was a suicide attack. The bomber managed to enter the park and blew himself up near the kids' playing area where kids were on the swings," Lahore's top administration official Muhammad Usman told AFP.

Javed Ali, a 35-year-old resident who lives opposite the park, said the force of the blast had shattered his home's windows.

"After ten minutes I went outside. There was human flesh on the walls of our house. People were crying, I could hear ambulances.

"It was overcrowded because of Easter, there were a lot of Christians there. It was so crowded I told my family not to go."

Yousaf Masih, a father who was searching for his family, told AFP: "My kids came here [to the park]. I was at home, I saw the news on TV, but my wife and children were here."

Witnesses said the wounded were first rushed to hospital in rickshaws and other vehicles before dozens of ambulances arrived on the scene.

Theodore, born on November 24, 1946, assaulted and murdered many young women and girld during the 1970's and possibly earlier.

Bundy was regarded as handsome and charismatic by his young female victims, traits he exploited to win their trust. He typically approached them in public places, feigning injury or disability, or impersonating an authority figure, before overpowering and assaulting them at more secluded locations. He sometimes revisited his secondary crime scenes for hours at a time, grooming and performing sexual acts with the decomposing corpses until putrefaction and destruction by wild animals made further interaction impossible. He decapitated at least 12 of his victims, and kept some of the severed heads in his apartment for a period of time as mementos. On a few occasions, he simply broke into dwellings at night and bludgeoned his victims as they slept.

Theodore, was incarcerated in Utah in 1975 for aggravated kidnapping and attempted assault. he engineered two dramatic escapes and committed further assaults, including three murders and was a suspect in a progressively longer list of unsolved homicides in multiple states. Facing murder charges in Colorado, before his ultimate recapture in Florida in 1978. He received three death sentences in two separate trials for the Florida homicides.

OMG! This is so disheartening, At least 65 people killed and scores wounded after a teenage ISIS suicide bomber blew himself up in a crowd after a local football match in a village south of Baghdad, Iraq.

A police captain from the village, Al-Asriya, told AFP that 'they were just handing the trophy to the winners, when the suicide attacker blew himself up in the crowd.' (Warning: Graphic Video below)


The police captain said more than 50 people were also wounded in the blast, near Iskandariyah, a
town about 25 miles south of the capital.


ISIS have claimed responsibility for the attack, releasing a photo of the young bomber, named only as Saifullah al-Ansari.

A source at Iskandariyah hospital confirmed the toll, warning that the casualties figure were preliminary and could rise.


The medic told AFP that the attack took place around 7:00 pm with some source claiming that nearly 65 people were killed in the attack.

The united States military today revealed that ISIS second in command was killed in a major strike against the terrorist group earlier this week.

Abd al-Rahman Mustafa al-Qaduli, better know as Haji Imam and considered to be the deputy of ISIS leader Omar al-Baghdadi was killed by special forces. According to CNN reports. US special forces had launched an operation to try and capture him alive but ended up in a gun fight with Isis fighters that resulted in him being shot and killed.


The former physics teacher was designated as a global terrorist by the US in 2014 and the following year it offered a reward of $7m for information about him that led to his arrest or capture.

"We are steadily eliminating Isil's cabinet," said Mr Carter, using another acronym for Isis. He said seveal senior figures within the group had been killed, among them Haji Imam, whom he said acted as the Islamists' finance minister and also overseen some external plots. "He was a well-known terrorist within Isil dating back to its original iteration as Al-Qaeda in Iraq."

The senior military official refused to say whether the Isis leader had been killed by a drone strike or else by US Special Forces on the ground. He said that to divulge such details would undermine the ongoing efforts against the Islamists.

Mr Carter also confirmed the killing of Isis’s “minister of war” in a strike earlier this month. Tarkhan Batirashvili, better known as Omar al-Shishani or “Omar the Chechen,” was lethally wounded by an airstrike. The fighter, a Syrian-based Georgian national, was reported to have been killed near the Syrian town of al-Shadad.
