TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by tunderule2016: 5:00pm On May 23, 2016
Hello ifyalways,

Yes you right , i did not show too much info to indicate that the visa was refused base on the exchange rate... but you need to know that i could not show more than that; cos of confidentiality i had with the person... moreso, i did not want my fellow nairalanders to waste money...

there is a yoruba adage that says A f'ogbon ologbon s'ogbon ko te boro - (He that learns from others will not make mistakes). So i hope you understand, please know that this people are using every reason to deny; as @imperialebony said earlier... they do not want to even issue the VISA... so abeg una again... u sef use every trick(good & right) in the book... grin God go help us all

ifyalways:
I dont think the fella was refused because of exchange rate o. He didnt upload reason of refusal, he simply stated that the ROE used in treating that application was 308.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by tunderule2016: 12:34pm On May 22, 2016
Go to 153 to 171... you will understand better...
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/514308/T4_Migrant_Guidance_Apr_2016.pdf

on number 171 it says use http://www.oanda.com/convert/classic on the website, pounds is 285.370 but omo men i no trust this ppl... You can use it but if application is refused ... one can claim on the guidance that is what u were asked to use ...

My worry was Visitor visa you can not appeal so no chances must be taken.

fizzile:
Thats serious. Please what exchange rate do they use for academic visas?
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by tunderule2016: 11:57am On May 22, 2016
Please ppl applying for Visiting Visa... i will advice you to add a buffer to any exchange rate you see online now to do your calculations. I just saw two refusal letters now and it shocked me that the UKBA used 1 pounds = 308 naira OMG!!!!

So please be on the safe side use high rate when doing your calculations... this ppl are just finding different route to deny US... see attachment to what i am saying... ABEG OOO Take note....

A little research will help bruv....

first to this http://www.hud.ac.uk/international/
here is agent zone of the school http://www.hud.ac.uk/international/agent-zone/ you can get email of the school and ask them to give you the names or list of agents in nigeria; they will be willing to help..

You can find the below here http://www.hud.ac.uk/international/scholarships/

On scholarships to Nigerians ...

Nigerian Scholarship
Key facts

Students starting in September 2016:
For students of all Schools.
An additional £2000* is available for taught Master's courses on top of the standard £2000 scholarship (*Only £1000 is available for School of Art, Design and Architecture students and only for those with First or 2:1 Bachelor degree classification).
Only available for students from Nigeria.
Applicable only to students starting their Master's studies in September 2016.
All students are eligible for an early payment discount (£500) if they pay fees in full by the deadline.
Business School students with 2:1 Bachelor degree classification are also eligible for an additional £500 discount.

Here is another scholarship...

Africa School of Education and Professional Development Scholarships
This scholarship is worth £2000 towards the cost of your tuition fees, in addition to the Scholarships for new international Master's students. It is available for all African students who are self-funded and have applied for a postgraduate taught course in the School of Education and Professional Development. Students will be automatically considered for this so a separate application form is not required. For more information please contact our Official Representatives in Nigeria, Wilson Kumesine on w.kumesine@hud.ac.uk and Tomi Orojinmi on t.orojinmi@hud.ac.uk or tel: +234(0)8132263443 (Port Harcourt Office) or +234(01)4536437 (Lagos Office).

I will suggest you make some little researches yourself ... and also, try calling the international department they will help you with any questions ... I suppose to u just paying cash to agents.... So those are the two scholarships i can see that relates to the school. Good luck and do more research too

Happy sunday ..... something i have come to realize is that it seems they only ask ppl around the London area to come for interview... I might be wrong though ... but from previous experience and researches; i noticed most interviews has been done by ppl in England (i.e. london).

I have not heard someone in wales, or Northern Ireland or scotland say they called them in for interview... Have a lovely and blessed sunday ... Out to church

egal22:
wish you luck....counting down seriously...
Have question for you....
Was your spouse interviewed in Uk?

chances are still ok... she just need to explain her situation in the additional information box..(maybe a personal letter) and more also, she needs to accept her ignorance about not declaring her pregnancy state when applying as she did not know she is required to do so and she intend not to furstrate the immigration law anymore.

She should re-apply and she will be fine....

On the other hand.... Giving birth in the UK does not add any thing at all to the child except if the child is for a British national. Anyways good luck to your sister and am sure she will be ok.

Mumtwins08:
Hello every one ... Please I have a question .my sister was turned back at the point of entry a year ago at the uk border . She was pregnant and was going to see her mum ...her visa was immediately revoked ... They said her offense was that she did not inform them that she was pregnant during her submission ... ( she got a 6 months visa ) her first attempt . Now she's trying to reapply again ... Please what are her chances ? Should she seek the help of an immigration lawyer ? Thanks .

No you can not....@imperial is right... come back home...
you must have right to residence (permanent) before you can apply i.e. student visa, settlement..

Hello house, please I would like to find out if it's possible to apply for a US visiting visa while in the UK for a Visit. Thank you
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by tunderule2016: 9:34am On May 21, 2016
I am happy you are positive, the fact is this people have limited staffs which has been one of their major problems for decades ; the only March ppl i have seen that has received there visa are the priority ones... March applicants will start receiving soon...I know someone who is March 1st and next week will make it 12 weeks. Always watch out for your IHS refund it is another way of knowing you are still in line with good result

This ppl are making the most non-priority application get to the 12 weeks mark.... so keep the positive mood and we shall all smile at the end..

I really do not want to discourage you but yes there are situation were it takes longer than 12 weeks and at that point they send this email below,

Update: Have officially hit the 60 working days or 12 weeks mark.

----------------------------

Thank you for applying for a UK visa. Your visa application has been received and is under consideration. We aim to process non settlement applications within 15 working days (unless you have opted for the Priority Visa service), and settlement applications within 60 working days.

Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible.

We will write to you again if there is any change to this. Please do not attend the Visa Application Centre until you have been advised that your application has been decided and that your passport is ready for collection.

Kind Regards,

Sheffield Visa Section

egal22:
@Tunderule2016....do you know the situation where it takes longer than 12weeks? it seems since March no standard applicants have gotten replies or visa...are they on holidays or just handling only Pr. Applicants? Thanks for the encouragement smiley
Am still keeping it positive....
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by tunderule2016: 10:19pm On May 20, 2016
if you were refused yesterday, you could reapply today...provided your circumstances have changed with compelling evidence/proof.

TRUE WORDS...

imperialebony:
In my opinion, you do not need any immigration lawyer. All you need do is work on the reason(s) you were refused, by ensuring your circumstances have changed beyond doubts before reapplying. Don't forget every applicant has a record on the Embassy's database and the moment an applicant reapplies after refusal, what the ECO will first check is whether or not the circumstances surrounding your refusal have changed considerably. As a matter of fact, if you were refused yesterday, you could reapply today...provided your circumstances have changed with compelling evidence/proof. Cheers

As long as you have met the financial requirement... yes you can transfer some of the money to your account since it is a week to departure .

it is important you make plans for accommodation because they might ask you to fill a landing form which must include the address of where you going . So bruv make plans asap before u fly..

fizzile:
Guys please help me out. Please
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by tunderule2016: 5:39pm On May 20, 2016
Ok spot on then... You should apply again!!!!! as your friend said ; but you will need to submit a strong application because of your over stayed status... will be their reason of refusal that you intended to frustrate the immigration..

Your lawyer will need to write a strong letter explaining history and your wife introduction letter would have to be strong too explaining how you guys apart is not right. Coming to do NYSC is not the point here bruv so if i have to be honest, they careless about it the point they will work on is over staying.

I believe when you are about to apply ppl here will be able to give more of their opinions....Good luck bruv..

wallg123:
Yes sir my wife earns over this 38,000 GBP annually. . ...as for me I'm using this time to do my NYSC...
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by tunderule2016: 4:53pm On May 20, 2016
Do you qualify for any of the financial category requirements? i.e 18600 or saving etc...?

wallg123:
Good afternoon house... What a great job u guys are doing here... well done guys ...

Pls I have a question. ...

few months back (February ) I posted my refusal letter for settlement visa.... if u can recall @justwise and frontpage lawyer....
Reasons for refusal includes that I overstayed my student visa, enrolled and completed my masters degree without the right visa, and other stuffs with relates to u the genuineness of my previous relationship which has been dis
solved. I got into another relationship doing my masters studies. I voluntary returned to Nigeria after my studies last August to do my wedding and also enrol for NYSC....

I have an upcoming appeal slated for a date after 4th august

after the refusal in February my wife gave birth March this year...

Now my question!!!.
I was advised by a friend to put in another application while waiting for t
he appeal from my last refusal.... since I now have a baby and a wife in uk who are both British nationals..

should I wait for the appeal or send in another application with more compelling evidence...My wife goes back to work September this year as she is a teacher....

Pls Ogas and Madams advice me .. Thanks

I think you need to add number 11, he should sue them for damages they have cost him. Good outline u did though stay blessed

BiggerBangs:
Haha.. Why the fuse? Tell the man (mechanic)to relax ,this is a planned setup probably by one of his rich client he might have early offended.

Solution :

1: Be ready to spend money to finish the case

2: Get a good Lawyer

3: cooperate to pay the 300k Bribe ( but don't )

4: Get a documented evidence that they requested for a settlement of 300k

5: Write a letter to the state commissioner of police to transfer the mechanic to police headquarters for safety because they may attempt to kill the guy in his cell

6:Then head to Court

7: Add the most important ingredient by praying because the case has been planned and finished before the guy got arrested

8: Wait till Court discharge and Aquit the Mechanic

9: Don't forget to publish the names of the police officerS that mastermind the crime here on Nairaland because they will be dismissed

10: Thank me later
