It is not 17 days.
It is 3 day compulsory quarantine period.....after this 11 days.

Standard quarantine period is 2-6 weeks, however, most countries are using 14 days quarantine as a check for travellers.
Thank you very much for this clarification.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by TundeTheHunter: 11:09pm On Apr 19, 2021
No, after the 3 day hotel quarantine is another 14 days quarantine. A total of 17 days.
Wifefo88:
So the remaining days should be 11 days right

This Canada study permit is really stressing we Nigerians.
Someone at the age of 40 can decide to go for bsc or even for diploma courses, its no body's business. One can finish bsc and decides to go for another bsc, honestly I can decides that.
I blame our leaders that created all these problems for we youths.

When I was applying for my diploma degree in one of the colleges in NL, one of the requirements to apply is that I must have gone to a higher institution for not less than 3years which means I can use bsc or HND to apply to get a diploma cert. If there is no career progression, why such requirements. How can someone be denied a study permit after giving admission and paying tuition fee. I believe that Schools should work with Embassy before giving admission.

This personal assets and finance Visa officers are requesting, is it for someone at the age of 25years who want to study that they are asking! Even in their place, how many people under 30 years can boast of landed properties, their citizens go to school with loans.

Upon after providing these requirements, NSE will come up with their own, they will still delay and refuse applicant the opportunity after several months. I really blame our bad government for all these humiliation and stress this Canadian VOs are causing us.

My points though, not writing to impress or go against anyone's views or points. I just decided to pour out my mind.
I understand your frustration, but you have to understand that Canada does not owe us as Nigerian citizens anything. They are only accountable to their own citizens. The only reason they are even accepting so many immigrants now is because they have an aging population and need skilled workers to pay taxes that will sustain their economy.
If you really want emigrate, maybe you should try applying via express entry or try other countries such as Germany, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, etc. These countries also need immigrants and might be easier to apply to.

hello every one.
I applied for a study permit for a college diploma in toronto. I have my admission letter already and the school didnt require an IELTS.
I know college diploma does not qualify for NSE however I recently did the IELTS but scored low with Band 5.
would it be dangerous to include a Band 5 ielts result in my visa application even though its not NSE?
Any degree, diploma or certificate qualifies for NSE. The minimum IELTS score required for NSE is a 6.0 in each of the 4 categories. You do not need to include an IELTS report for a regular study permit application, so why include it all? I think you should just leave it out since you are not applying via NSE.

Bro, Toronto School of Management is not PGWP eligible. Meaning if you school there, you won't be able to work after and would have to return to our lovely country.

After doing your mandatory 3days quarantine in a hotel, can you do the remaining 11days with a family in canada?
It is a 3 day hotel quarantine. Then a 14 day quarantine which you can do with your family if you wish.

Thanks for the response bro.

The offer letter provided is what i would use to apply for study permit. They actually told me to kick start my application for it immediately as i don’t need any financial obligations to the school regarding that

What I’m confused about is if i want to even apply would i need to show the whole 60k in the account because it a whole lot, because what i initially have in one of the accounts i want to use is half of the whole sum total.

Find attached an email of the school stating that my first installment should be paid by September not even August resumption

To be honest, I don't know if that amount is enough or not, because I used NSE. But you can refer to the recommended amounts on the Canadian immigration website.
Find the link here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/get-documents.html#doc3

What is your advice regarding that, I’m not really sure they defer admission too though

Please i need help.

I just got admission few days ago to York uni.

Now my problems:

1) program starts August and i haven’t started Application and i see people here complaining about how late the application was

2) Do i need to pay up this 60k cad as shown in my offer letter.

3) can i pay a term for my program which is a three term one year program and apply with such

4) can i have two or three sponsors, 2 of which is my siblings abroad including my dad?

Please i need urgent reply to kick start . Thanks Guys

Kindly find attached a copy of my offer letter.

Also anyone with a way i can fast track the method, can help school resumes august. I don’t think I’m eligible for nse as I don’t have 30k for 6months in my Acct

Please i will appreciate any hood advice to navigate this thanks
Hi,
Congratulations on your admission. Please find below my hood advice to your various questions.
1. August is too near considering the current processing time which is 20 weeks for the regular study permit route. So I will advise you to defer your admission to September or January, once you get it.
2. You need an 'Unconditional Letter of Acceptance'/'Letter of Acceptance' to apply for a study visa. Usually your school requires you to pay a deposit fee once you have been offered admission. What condition was given in the email you received for your offer of admission? If you are unclear about the condition or the fee you are supposed to pay to receive your letter of acceptance, contact the admission office of York University.
3. This was answered above.
4. To be honest I am not very sure about this. There is nothing on the Canadian Immigration website that says that you cannot have more than one sponsor. But what you can do is prepare a joint letter of financial sponsorship, in which all three of your sponsors are signatories. That way you are presenting a unified financial sponsorship offer and are being sponsored 3 parties.
PS: I also have 3 sponsors: both my parents and my uncle. My parents provided me with a joint letter of sponsorship. And my uncle gave me a separate letter. So in total, I submitted 2 letters to the immigration office.

I have not used Lufthansa before, but I have never heard anyone having to get a transit visa to travel through Germany. And I know that most countries don't require a transit visa if you hold the visa of the country of your final destination. This reminds me of a time I wasted money on a UK transit visa and I did not need it because I had a US visa (US was my final destination).

You can also check out this link from the official German website on this issue. It confirms what I am saying

Out of curiosity, what’s the average deadline to apply for fall admission in Canada? I mean if one wants a postgraduate program?
Thank you
Most of the Masters programs starting in the fall close admission around January - March on average. PGDs and PGCs usually close admission around that same time or will still take applicants later on, as long as they still have remaining seats for the program.

However, you should check the website of whichever school you want to apply to. Or send them an email enquiring about their admission deadline.

Thank you for clarification.

You know any college that approved for PGWP?
There are many colleges that have PGWP eligible programs. Most of the popular ones do. These are the ones that I know off the top of my head.
1. Langara College, Vancouver, British Columbia
2. Okanagan College, Kelowna, British Columbia
3. Camosun College
4. Vancouver Community College
5. Nova Scotia Community College
6. St. Clair College, Windsor, Ontario

But you can use the link I posted in my last post to search colleges by the different provinces

They have a DLI number but they are not approved for Post Graduate Work Permit. Having a DLI number allows CIMT to accept international students for various programs. But those students will not be able to apply for a work permit after completing their studies. This wait and silence from the Canadian embassy is just frustrating.
Please what can I do, I applied since January, I ve done the upfront medicals and biometrics.

Please is there any method to fasten this up a little bit. Before you know it now April will finish and they’re still reviewing the documents.

Please help
Guy, I am in the same boat as you. I applied first week of February and I am still waiting. I would just advise you to take your mind off it. Get busy with work, learning a skill or trading online or something. If you just wait and keep on checking your portal everyday the anxiety can kill you. There is nothing you can do to speed the process up to the best of my knowledge.

Hello House!

While I was searching for schools i found this school CIMT college Canada. I like the course because it is what I really want to study but their tuition fee is high.
The school also promised to help with job search upon completion .. how true is this? Is anyone familiar with the school?
Program Name – Data Analyticsand Business Intelligence
Duration –52 weeks
Total Tuition fees – CAD $21,248.75
Instalment 1 – CAD $5,312.19
Instalment 2 – CAD $5,312.19
Instalment 3 – CAD $5,312.19
Instalment 4 – CAD $5,312.19

CIMT College will be happy to assist you with your work permit application through the LMIA process. The other pathway open to international students is PGWP. Let me explain to you the difference between a PGWP and WP.
If you are interested in a PGWP - you must study in a university/ community college for a longer duration, Apply for a PGWP, once approved find a job on your own in the field of study. Universities do not provide you with job assistance.
The tuition fees in university is approx 60,000 CAD and their graduation rates are less than 60%. Also, since you are expected to take 4/5 courses at once, you have no time to work part time. We have many students who drop out and join us as we help them find employers ready to sponsor their LMIA. Please read more about LMIA on the official IRCC website. You may be eligible to stay for upto 2 years with this method and work full time.
Hello everyone,
I just looked up CIMT on the Designated Learning Institutions(DLI) list on the Canadian immigration website. This school is not eligible for a Post Graduate Work Permit, which means that any international student who goes there would be ineligible for a Post Graduate Work Permit after their studies and would have to return back to their country. Please to anyone who is applying to a university or college in Canada, always check if your school qualifies for a PGWP using this link: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/prepare/designated-learning-institutions-list.html#wb-auto-25.

Hi! As at now, anybody travelling into Canada is required to:
1. Get a negative covid19 test before leaving your country for Canada
2. Get a negative covid19 test upon entering Canada
3. Complete a 3 day quarantine in a government approved hotel in the city you fly into in Canada.
4. Complete a 14 day quarantine in any other premises in Canada
5. Get a negative covid19 test towards the end of your 14 day quarantine

All these steps are currently mandatory, regardless if you:
1. Have gotten covid in the past
2. Have gotten vaccinated for covid19

However, it would be a wise choice to get vaccinated here in Nigeria in my opinion. I say this because the travel policies are constantly changing. And it is possible that some of these current restrictions could be removed for those who have been vaccinated.
PS: I took my first shot of the vaccine last week cool
Deohlarh20:
Hello ,has anyone taken the vaccines yet in Nigeria or if the vaccine is taken are we to still do the covid test ?If anyone has information regarding this please I’d love a reply

I have not travelled yet, but from the information I have gathered from friends who have travelled and from online research I understand that you will be required to do your 3 days hotel quarantine in the city of whichever international airport you land in. After that you are allowed to travel to any other part of Canada to complete another 14 day quarantine provided you follow social distancing guidelines while you transit there. Therefore, I would advise you to fly directly to the airport of the city your friend is staying to avoid extra travel costs. I don't think any issue will arise when you are collecting your study permit in the airport as immigration staff are aware people are schooling remotely from different parts of Canada and the world. I have a friend who is enrolled in University of Canada West (in Vancouver,BC) but recently flew directly to Toronto (from Nigeria) to live with her brother and schools online. She was given her study permit in Toronto Pearson Airport.
Babygurl21:
Congrats to all PPR recipients and to all hopefuls, you will celebrate also.

House please I need some clarification.

1) for those that landed at Toronto, but had to take flights to their final destination in Canada, did you do the initial 3 days hotel quarantine in Toronto, then continued the remaining 11 days at your final destination or you immediately boarded the connecting flight to your final destination and did all the 14 days quarantine at your final destination?

2) My school is in Ontario, but I plan to stay with a friend in another province since lectures are still online. Hope this won't be an issue at POE, since my documents will show school is in Ontario, but my final destination is another province, or should I even fly to the province where my friend stays directly, it has an international airport and flights are being allowed in, flying directly saves me some money.

Ideas are welcome especially from those who have travelled.
