TerryCarr: i don't see them replacing there language with English like the Africans do. as long as there in your nation they should learn the local language/s your not going to get far with English in BrazilThey are not required to learn our language but for the ones that do, kudos to them, it might be the difference between making or breaking a business deal. now turn the tables around and picture yourself competing for an investment from a chinese business man alongside an american, speak the lingo and you would have already given yourself the edge. even Alan Sugar said the same here in the UK. we have to make these guys our friends now before its too late. |
Its a forward thinking move. fast-forward 20 years from now when China is a force to be reckoned with, we wont be left hanging. language is one of the best ways to break the bridge gaps when it comes to business so in all fairness, I'm in full support of this. Those of you saying they dont know our language should think again, Ive seen a Chinese man that has a shop in lekki, speak pidgin. |
Area_boy: WTF man! fck u too!! hundred folds over! cvnt! dude seriously, i cant help but picture you screaming at your screen lmfaocalm the fuk down |

kunletiwoo: Don't get it wrong bro! Cos the bible say'sif we start painting grey areas like this, where do you draw the line and distinguish between worshiping God and worshiping man. Statements like this should be discouraged, Period! |

Drones are a cheaper and safer option though, also an advantage considering the range they have to cover, targets can be laced and enemies supressed sharply..we don't need to buy new jets.the ones we have now should do..but I don't see this happening in Nigeria tbh, not with our backward approach to ideas. |
Funny stories on here boi, my ex left me 'cos she said I was too distracting and she had to focus on her career..ouch!..took it in strides though, we're friends now. |
at least he manned up and apologized, cut the guy some slack. |
Gotta give it to them man, the concepts are always interesting |

deols: that's just the kinda question they wont be too bothered about. Dont judge their lives by yours. They prolly are alredy used to waiting for the right time and the right person unlike the 'any thing, place, body goes you are used to.pretty sure you can get your point across without insulting me ![]() |
you have my support! these a-holes steal from us without contributing back to the society while the fat cats here in the west enjoy the profit. they even get their kids employed from here and take them back home to acquire high positions while the communities that have to suffer the consequences of these operations are living in poverty. if the government won't do anything, appoint a leader and come up with a systematic process to destabilise the whole operation with as little violence as necessary. In some countries, multi-nationals are required to sign deals that force them to give qualified indigens priority when it comes to employment, why should it be different for you? If you don't ask for what is yours, people will use you, smile, pat your head and call you 'good boy' while you are dying in poverty. Stand up and take what is yours! |
proudlyafrican: [/b]thanks man |
Bawss1: In fairness the ThisDay article stated that the CEO of Honeywell is Chris Bale not Christian Bale. Still, how the reporter thought it fitting that it must be the Batman actor is a mystery.i see what you did there ![]() |
I only like the fact that he left me some land somewhere in benin...d guy no try, left my pregnant mum to go pay some next girls fees through uni from start to finish..at the time we dey struggle to eat. im not a huge fan of him to be honest..if he was alive i would've sat his ass down for a long lecture. im happy to see that some men are responsible enough to raise their kids and do so willingly and lovingly. Shows not all men are the same |
interesting..how will they get laid though..picture having to catch a flight or long a_ss train ride just to get some nooki. |
i believe there are good nigerian girls out there that would do someting like this..met one here on NL 'bout 3 years ago. first girl to ever buy me a present when i wasn't celebrating anything. she never asked for nothing back..lost her though..long distance,impatience..yada yada yada..point is, there are some nice people - male and female about but it takes alot of patience and luck i suppose, to meet them. |
its fake..nice 'shopping though |
so ill get the ball rolling; here's a break down of a personal piece i've been working on for close to a week now. thought i'd name it 'nail in the head' but its starting to take another direction..drop a line or two i started with a sketch to visualise what i had in mind (it always helps) https://i.imgur.com/kpPTp.jpg i thought i'd add a scroll aswell to add some text and character to the overall image; (the scroll is actually a trace of a vector stock) https://i.imgur.com/oXMWv.jpg so I fired up illustrator to begin sketching; https://i.imgur.com/0h3JW.jpg now is time for the hard part. its always tricky to determine where lights fall on an object and where shadows do..especially when you are working from imagination..its usually a trial and error thing... https://i.imgur.com/82KXz.jpg a few close ups you might be interested in; https://i.imgur.com/4tumR.jpg might have to touch that up a bit https://i.imgur.com/dz19T.jpg this came out well in my opinion https://i.imgur.com/j0XXb.jpg those shadings are called 'hachures'..originally invented for maps but they work well for creating depth in illustrations. as you can see, its incomplete and i will update it as time goes on.. so yh..what do you think? any questions?..suggestions?..lets hear it. thanks. |
Of late, the quality of work i see on this section has been sub par. not to say i'm a pro, we are all learning. but i dont see any drive for improvement in what a lot of us put out here. there's no arguing that graphic designers in general dont get rewarded well enough for the amount of work they put into building a company image, be it PR, advertising or just plain ol' graphic representation of info so the lacklustre attitude is understandable..nonetheless, if you do something, might as well do it right. so here's my idea; this should be a space where people can bring their work, get constructive criticism, and just throw ideas in general. That way, we can start to raise the bar if not on anywhere, on nairaland at least. people can come here to get ideas on how to approach creative projects and execute then in a polished fashion. So this is how it should be done; ** post your work and explain thought process (what made you choose that shape/colour/perspective) ** if possible, throw in a small tutorial so we all learn from each other. ** if you need feedback, ask for it and anyone can throw in a suggestion..we all need a different opinion from time to time. any form of biased or pointless criticism will be subject to removal as this is not the time and place for that e.g 'that is very ugly', 'it looks terrible', etc..instead make suggestions like; 'i think it would look better if you change this colour to that colour' or 'you could try put this on that and see how it looks'..you get the idea. it should be a thread where people can pick a thing or two. this might morph into something else at the end of the day so rules are subject to change, so here goes... |
MrNigeria.:save in CMYK. that is the designated print format. you were supposed to start work in CMYK mode anyway (knowing it would be for print). PDF is also good but i hate to work with it. its advantage is the security(PDF files can be encrypted) and portability among different software (pretty much anything can read the files..even browsers). when you convert to CMYK, you will most likely have to rework the colouring but this time you know what you see is what you get. hope i helped. ![]() |
lol, y'all should call on your gods for this one |
Mr.chippychappy:lol i know right |
