grin Yesso grin I was delightfully surprised by the Tshirts, dresses and tights (they still usually look good when they don't fit anymore so they go to charity) when I got proven wrong but I can't buy jeans for myself from Primark because that one is premium tears loading. Their jeans, on about 2 occasions, made me feel unwanted draught of cold in the "under world" few weeks after purchase and I just gently stuck to matalan and M&S for my jeans.
My LO's Primark jeans, which usually see loads of rough play, lasts for as long as possible and it still looks good for charity when they grow smaller.
Shoes are also something I wouldn't buy at Primark.
How about newborn wears ooo, where can one get quality and cheap (lol) maternity and newborn items please

Good morning, pls have they resolved this? in a similar situation.sent you a message.

quote author=tushqueen post=97602945]Our visa were picked up today for my spouse and 2 kids. One of these has issues which we feel should be corrected. The mistake was that one of my compound names (surname) was omitted. Say 'Compound-Name' written correctly for spouse and first kid but written as 'Name' for my last baby.

Do you think this should pose as an issue while traveling?

We complained at the point of collection, so we were asked to make a copy and leave the visa behind for corrections. Has anyone experienced this or something similar? When are we likely to get it corrected as this is delaying our flight bookings

Remember the message above? I'm angry and bitter right now. We have checked for my daughters passport at the TLS office for collection twice now with no success. We keep receiving mails to come pick up the passport as they don't keep once granted. Each time we go, we get nothing tangible as response, the official just keeps saying it's not ready /yet sent to them. It's been over 17days now since we applied for correction as mentioned below.

Please does anyone know how to resolve this. They need the visa to travel as soon as possible as this is delaying booking of flight. The visas ware ready and granted since 16th but hers has been delaying flight bookings because of the mistake they made regarding her dependant's surname
No, they haven't

I used Vodafone and it was far better than lyca. I was using lyca at first but it was really expensive because you had to buy data, national minutes and international minutes separately. When I discovered Vodafone, I ported my lyca number over to Vodafone. I used to pay either £3.50 for 100 minutes or £7 for 500 minutes to call Nigeria. And my contract came with unlimited data. You can check out their website.
Does Giff gaff offer something reasonable as well. Or make I just port?

Hello my people, my elder bro has a 6 months visiting visa which is valid till march 16. He is yet to leave Nigeria because his passport was held down during the lockdown. He is planning to uae the issued visa in February to return to Nigeria on March 6. Hope this closeness to the time of vignette expiry won't have negative consequences when he needs to do visa next time.

Different strokes for different folks. Some use it because it gets them easily set up upon getting to the UK, some because of the inbuilt transfer function to international accounts while others use it solely for online transactions or 3rd party payments as they wouldn't want to use their regular bank accounts in order to prevent their banking info from getting into the wrong hands.
Many people also don't do much offline cash transactions so it's not really a problem to them.
In that case, I think this would fly for what I Wang to use it for. I just got here and I haven't been able to open a regular bank account with HSBC (thinking of using this bank). However, I need a sharp account to recover some funds which I used in posting items to about 6people on my arrival here. Adding up those little pounds for that number people requires recovery abeg. Thank you so much

1. You will need to register with an accounting body here. I will suggest ACCA as it’s more universal. This way you can have a full time job and study evening or weekends depending on your schedule. Without uk experience you might have to start at a lower level and work your way up.
2. It will be easy for you as you already have the foundation in accounting.
3. Yes there are loads with the ACCA and so many others, loads of support forums etc.
Thank you, can you please share links of recommend fora to interact with

Is it better to exchange my naira to pounds from Naija or will I get a cheaper exchange rate if I ask my host in Manchester to assist in changing it since she will be picking me from the airport (I'm thinking I can just change little to hold till we meet)?

Summarily, do I stand a chance of getting a lower exchange in the UK compared to Nigeria?

It doesn't matter when she got the English language proficiency letter, she will still be issued a NARIC certificate. I got my letter in 2018, B.Sc Certificate in 2014 and I applied for NARIC last month. It was delivered in soft copy within 10days.

She can apply with the letter, no hassle at all

Hi everyone, I have been following this thread silently for about a year, I must say you are doing a great job here as I have learnt so much from so many people.

I got two band 5 job offers, one in August, COS released and it's for a job in Carlisle, North Cumbria (England). The other offer is in Bedford, just got the offer yesterday and the package is similar.

I have a family of 4 and very soon after myresumption there, hubby (a chattered accountant here in Naija) will also come over to search for job.

Now the question is; which will you go for if you were in my shoes and what are your reason. Kindly help me with adequate information that will help me make an informed choice.

Thank you.

Congratulations helpee! Feels good to know that your band was upgraded. Congrats brother!

For those asking (I don't know how to tag names on NL, I will be glad if anyone is Willi g to guide me), I registered with bother BC and IDP. I initially registered with BC to write my exam on 20the June but I received a cancelation mail from them due to COVID scare. So I requested for a refund and immediately registered with IDP so as to meet up with JUne 20 cos I needed the result urgently.

The materials that really helped me; I wasn't able to download Cambridge resources though I heard they are great. I used IELTS Liz website, and future learn to understand the 4 sections. Learnt about question techniques and practiced. I also subscribed to daily listening practice on YouTube and this helped me a lot in my listening section.

All the best guys!
