A very long one! Long queue with chaos
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by tushqueen(f): 8:57am On Jan 27, 2022
Hi,

I applied for a visitors visa for a relative, it's now ready for collection, but the queue and stress involved is unwarranted. We sent a rep yesterday but he wasn't given. Please does anyone know how I can apply for passport return by courier at this stage? Is it possible?

My cursive search on the TLS website tends towards being able to apply for courier service only during the initial application.

Thanks for all you do on this page!

How do I get my mum's passport to be delivered via courier. We didn't apply for this service initially but the stress involved in the collection is unwarranted. We tried collection by proxy, but the rep wasn't given.

Is there a link to apply for courier service when the passport is ready for collection

I need a response please. Can someone help with this please

My collection mail just dropped. My mind dey up! Abeg why do they keep doing this, increasing someone's anxiety by sending collection mail after close of business. Lol!
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by tushqueen(f): 12:36pm On Jan 24, 2022
This wait hasn't been easy at all. Biometrics done for a 6months visitor's visa since 4th Nov. I just tracked this morning to see application transferred to VAC, hopefully collection mail drops before the end of today. Fingers crossed!

Even when you contact them, you won't get any concrete info after wasting money. They most they will tell you is a decision has been made and urge you to wait for the mail nooni.

[quote author=Estroller post=109193661]You simply allow the 1 Year anniversary of your LISA account to fall into the following tax year, remember tax year is 6th April - 5th April of the following year, you then deposit the maximum £4k in each of the the tax year.

For example if I'm to open one today 8/01/22, my 1 Year anniversary will be 8/01/23. I will deposit the max £4k before 5th April 2022 covering the current tax year and deposit another £4k in the new tax year starting 6th April 2022 but before the anniversary of my account which is 8/01/23. You both do this, and you will get the £4k I referenced in my earlier post.

Says one must be between 18-39 to be eligible to open a Lisa account??

Yes you can, you only need to show your payslips, bank statement, evidence of relationship, tenancy agreement and a few other things

is not about me. I am talking in general terms. If we don't care what people would say then why do we send money back home to our people? We can as well ignore them.
I don't know about anyone else but I don't send money home because of what they will think, I send because I have a sense of duty to some folks at home. I don't do it for anyone, I do it for my self and God.

If you lie flat and ask people to walk on you, they will still complain you ain't flat enough. So do your bit for your self and God if you believe in Him

Cambridge
Cambridge can be expensive from what I hear from a friend who live there. But I know she gets so much support from her church especially when she had her 1st baby. She is an adventist though but I believe there would be other churches who could be of great help. Your 5year old will be in school but the 3 year old can only get 15hrs.

It will be great to have your partner, mum or a family member come around or look for a colleague with whom you can take places to look after each others kids. Child care cost can be very expensive especially if you have more than 1child

Big mistake, you are lucky that you came out on time.
Shebi dey live a mind your business life and I hadn't even gone for long. I ensured to keep an eye just before entering the mall and searched for a short while. Only to come out to check my bags from a distant and I saw him packing away.

Na now I understand what they have been saying through out this month
"Are you sorted for Christmas"
huh
I tell you, I was at the mall after work yesterday, the shelves were dry, major food all gone.

E be like like say make I give 1 silly guy slap yesterday, I got to the bus stop to discover my bus card had disappeared. So I left my shopping bags at the bus stop to have a quick check at the mall. My mind was telling me abi make I no leave am whether somebody go steal am. Na im I say, nobody go carry am na shebi dem say camera dey everywhere. I ran in and came out to see one guy putting my bags away in his boot. I ran up to ask him what he was doing. He said oh sorry I'm in a phone call with the food bank and I thought someone wanted to give these away.

I was like how do you mean, if I wanted to have a give away I would have given the food bank a ring myself. He said sorry, dashed into his car, made a U-turn and left. If he really wanted to be kind, why would he not gibe me a ride when he discovered that my card had disappeared. Iranu

My mind was just imagining different things, like he probably wasn't calling any food bank. Or imagine if places were switched as in a black man putting a white's stuff in his boot.

Has anyone else experienced this?

newbie715:
These are visa terminologies

FLR - Further Leave to Remain (the visa you obtain after your initial visa if you are on a settlement route)

SET - Settlement then (M) is a category of Settlement visa used by immediate relatives of a settled person in the UK.

Yes, thank you. So you mean the principal visa applicant gets settled first before the dependants can apply even if they moved to the UK together

I hope that clarifies

Thanks for creating this thread. I created one a while ago but it got deleted by the "admins".

Looking forward to my application in January. It's not any different from the FLR application with the exception of Life in the UK test. All the best to everyone.
Please what's FLR, SET (M). These abbreviations don't sound familiar to me

I can’t remember who it was that suggested Lemonade finance on here. Whoever it is, just wanted to say a massive thank you to you. Downloaded the app this morning, funded my wallet and initiated a transfer. I kid you not, the money was in my GTBank account in less than one minute. I’m very impressed. The rate is also very reasonable. Merci.
What's the rate please
