Dollywood: Let the gaffer do his job. Being a football manager is one of the most challenging professions in the world. It's very convenient to sit on the couch and curse every move the manager makes. But seriously y'all should learn and adjust to his ways of doing things. his way of doing things can't win us the league. Man city team will beat this arsenal team any day and any time if he tries this nonsense experiment with them. Forget about the community shield defeat they will tears us apart if we play players in the wrong positions. |

Dollywood: Of course, the commentators usually wonder at some decisions of the manager. Still, you're calling Arteta out aggressively like you're his chairman or some sort of retired professional footballer or manager who sees the game better than Arteta. come on arteta makes a lot of wrong decisions that sometimes u wonder what has gotten into him for example today match is a perfect case where many players are being played out of position, failing to sub sometimes even when everyone except arteta knows we need fresh legs and also failing to play some players and starting others instead. That was the major reason we bottled the league last season because arteta thinks he is guardiola 2.0. |

Why did arteta buy havertz? Why did he waste money on that dude and gave him so much money? Like why is havertz still on the pitch? Which charm did that guy use for arteta and edu |

I dare you or any relative to become a president or vice president within the next million years. some of u sha. I have just one question for u, when tinubu and the rest of APC members where criticizing and abusing Jonathan, what was ur stand? Also re u saying tinubu shouldn't be criticized because even Biden and many presidents of the world are abused and criticized. Even Jesus was criticized and abused, so leaders should be able to tolerate abuses and criticism. It is a normal thing because not everybody that like u. |

merits: WHAT AN IRONY OF LIFE?
Do you know that the only tree a monkey cannot climb is the banana tree.
Paradoxically, banana is what monkey likes the most. This implies that anytime banana is found in the hand of a monkey, it is most likely a gift from someone. The question is, why then can't Monkey climb banana tree, but can climb the tallest trees in the forest? Hence, the phrase "Who dash monkey banana?" was coined.
This little analogy is full of divine message to the right thinking human being. In the journey of life, there are several things you like but will never be achieved unless you are given by God Almighty. Therefore, it is not of him that willeth or of him that runneth but of God that showeth Mercy.
May His mercy continue to abide in, and with everyone of us forever.
Good morning, children of God and happy weekend. the insinuation that monkey can't climb a banana plants is false according to my research on google. They can obviously climb one provided it is strong and can hold their weught |

Sports › Re: Why Are Players Going To Saudi Arabia? by tuzle(m): 11:22pm On Aug 16, 2023 |
nairalanda1: The Chinese too had a lot of money, and of course the Americans had more money...but at the end, it kind of collapsed.
To be honest, I don't like what the Saudis are doing. I would rather they channeled that money into developing decent young players...because the Saudi national team can, and does play good football on their day....than spend it on buying big stars for nothing. At the end, you end up like England, lots of big stars from other countries, fewer young product coming up....and then it has a negative effect on the national team.
If they can develop a good league with their local players, the foreign stars would come on their own without anyone enticing them with billion dollar contracts. I mean, a lot of countries did it.
The Saudis are repeating the mistakes the US, and to some extent the Chinese did. When the bubble burst, no one needed to tell the US that football development begins from the roots up.
Modifed
They should do what the Japanese did...when Japan set up a professional league in 1990, they intially splashed out money on super star players for the first ten to fifteen years. They also spent a lot developing home grown talent...so the game continued to grow in Japan. We don't want a Saudi version of the NASL. they are doing most of it because of their image. They want to host the world cup and they feel the presence of foreign players will give them a good image that has already been stained which the home grown players can't change. U should read up on what happened to Chinese league. The government basically killed it. |
Sports › Re: Why Are Players Going To Saudi Arabia? by tuzle(m): 11:06pm On Aug 16, 2023 |
Uchesis: As long as the money is coming from govt, it will back out one day, especially when they discover that the world still prefers European football to theirs. it is all to build their image that outsiders sha.u know Saudi gets a lot of income from tourism. So using it all this players to attract interest from the outside world and if u think about it, it has actually worked to an extent. I read fox sport USA bought tv right for their matches. They have a lot of quality to bring people's interest although not like Europe, but many people will be interested in their league from hence forth. Saudi league that I knew nothing about last two seasons but I can now mention 5 to 6 teams from there |

Uchesis: Bro calm down. What i mean is that Messi doesn't want people to think that he went to Saudi because of Ronaldo, because that is what cr7 fans will say
The Saudi league will still fall like the Chinese league did. Remember when every tom dick and harry was going to China not player of this capacity and Saudi has the money to maintain except the government back out later like the Chinese government did. |
Sports › Re: Why Are Players Going To Saudi Arabia? by tuzle(m): 10:43pm On Aug 16, 2023 |
Uchesis: Messi is smart. He knows that ronaldo is no longer in his level thats why he didn't go to Saudi. Na Ronaldo suppose follow Messi, not the other way round. Neymar obviously went because of the money. €1.5m every week na your mate? Mbappe would have gone there but he wants to win UCL with Madrid first Messi is smart and Ronaldo is dull abi. Ronaldo is making is money in Saudi, Messi too is making is own money. They both took what favoured them and no one is smarter. Even the Messi self is no longer at the level he use to be if not he won't be in mls. |
Sports › Re: Why Are Players Going To Saudi Arabia? by tuzle(m): 10:41pm On Aug 16, 2023 |
nairalanda1: Every now and then, there is a league that starts splashing out money for players, and many players go there
Let's list the leagues
USA 1970'S...NASL. Lucrative contracts for players, TV deals, etc. By 1985, it had crashed.
UAE some 20 years ago...retired players went there for the extra cash. Now...no one goes there
China some 12 years ago....mega contracts. Since 2017, nothing.
Now it is the Saudis.
Now not all leagues mess up like that. The Japanese league when it became professional initally was doing what the Saudis were doing...but they were also developing home based players , and a plan to last the distance. Thus it survived...and still works.
The Saudis are trying to buy influence. It's ultimately part of the plan of MBS , the (uncrowned king) of Saudi. not even the Chinese league spent like this. The Saudis have the money and are being backed by the leaders, so I see them surviving. This is just a season and they have bought many top qualities from Europe(I know people will say they are old and pass their prime bla bla). Give them 2 to 3years and if something isn't done to control their signings, they will sign many more, even young players will troup their. England too spend a lot of money on players and nobody is screaming that they are damaging football so why should their be uproar over Saudi now. Let me go back to the place where I mentioned top quality, the likes of neves, savic, firmiho, merez, neymar, kante and many more will still enter many top teams starting lineup in Europe. |
