Since you have used your visa twice, u do not need to email the embassy. It is your decision to either pay or not because the baby dad is a Us citizen. Your baby is entitled to Medicaid and all because the father is also entitled to it(he pays tax). Make sure your husband files for you before you get preggy with your next baby. It only takes less than 6months for your own green card to be processed for you. good luck

I beg to disagree with the medicaid part. First of all, Medicaid is meant for certain individuals and families with low incomes and few resources so the fact that he pays tax doesnt mean he must use medicaid. Secondly Medicaid eligibility and benefits can and often do vary widely from state to state. And i dont think informing the embassy will hurt her,she is not a US citizen hence she has no right at the border only priviledges.

@Op....since your husband is a US citizen he is in the best position to give you the right answer none of us can do that with confidence. Whatever happens he should have one form of health insurance or the other so he knows best. Best of luck.

I see no one has answered you so let me try. what do you mean by usc? Do you mean University of Southern California?

Irrespective of a pending immigrant application your non immigrant visa cannot be cancelled IF you have not contravened the terms upon which the visa was issued.e.g Overstaying in the US or working with a visitors visa. so the letter is in order. Answer to Question number 2 depends on what USC mean so you can recap. cheers

Well,it would have been easy to know this if you live in the states and you usually file for tax refunds using your child's identity. If someone already used his identity,the IRS system will reject your application until you provide more evidence that you are the rightful claimant. I feel your brother will not use the identity without your approval.

However, If you are so sure that you have become the victim of identity theft outside of the tax system or believe you may be at risk due to a lost/stolen purse or wallet, questionable credit card activity or credit report, etc., you are encouraged to contact the IRS Identity Protection Specialized Unit, toll-free at 1-800-908-4490.
You will need to fill out the IRS Identity Theft Affidavit, Form 14039.

The Social Security Administration can also be contacted.

Please go easy on her . Not everyone know these things. 2 different people in the US took turns to convince me to drop the identity of my child for tax returns but i said mba. They promised to share the proceeds of the returns with me, imagine getting paid like $1000-$1500 on a child per annum. That is mouthwatering but I still said mba.

@OP.....This matter bothers on conscience and morality. The money your sister may promise to share with you will be paid with the sweat of tax paying americans. Dont reap where you didnt sow. Your child is not in the US and no one should claim returns on him or her. Cheers

Simply say the truth.
Most B1/B2 visa holders are stamped in for 6 months because the CBP also envisage that you may need to extend your stay. Except they stamped you in for 2 weeks and you over stayed till 3 months you dont have cause to worry.

You will get the fit to fly letter from your doctor or hospital. Most of them already know what to write in it.

Abeg correct stroller and baby crib are available for sale o. Make una help us find market. Funny enough, some experienced mum adviced us against it but as the thing dey shack us now. Our baby must have the best.

@Newmum2015 and other mums thinking about shipping stuffs from the US. Here is my experience and advice.

1. Think well before shipping baby cribs because the chance of your baby using it is 50/50. My boy insists on staying beside the mum on the bed. At this rate I can sell you the Graco we bought , because we have never used it..

2. Be careful with electronic products from the US because voltage difference in Nigeria. The Avent sterilizer I bought packed up within a month. We had to buy another system. The TV we shipped is yet to pack up but The expensive stepdown we bought to safeguard all of them is already burnt.

3. Baby liquid soap and other heavy liquids can be bought locally,its not worth the extra shipping cost. We paid Delta extra $200 and it was money wrongly spent.

Important things to ship

1. Baby foods. Similac, gerber and enfamil are very expensive in Nija. You can ship what your baby will eat for the first 6 months or 1 year if possible.

2. Baby clothes and wears can also be bought. Buy more of age 3 months and above. 0 to 3 months become useless quickly. He also got lots of that as gift.

In summary,you can source good products locally,its not all items that is worth shipping. Congrats for all the successful visas and POE stories. One love.

You can start your application anytime. Giving birth in the US is not illegal so feel free to flaunt your pregnancy at the interview. Apply for a B1/B2 medical/tourism Visa and declare your intention before traveling. Most importantly you need to read this thread from d beginning and start reading the old thread from page 100 . Kindly note that palm oil is considered as a vegetable product. It's not permissible but people do carry it at their own risk. There are tons of African stores in most American cities where you can buy palm oil.

I think I'm the only one without a relative here. Been seeing John Stroger Hosp, it's so massive, walking in there is intimidating. Will explore the option this week.

Madam I am not happy with your level of preparation especially as an old timer. You don't need all these stress of searching hospital packages at all. God forbid if you should need an urgent medical attention where will you go? If there is any cheap package in Chicago, i am sure a member of this thread would have used it by now.

You should decide on one hospital right now. If you insist on chicago then Chill in Chicago and prayerfully expect your baby. Otherwise move to elpaso, phoenix or Houston and spend the additional 3k or 2k that hospitals will charge you in Chicago on a comfortable accommodation in those places.One love.
