A client messaged me and sent me his number to message him on whatsapp which I did, then I when i was done with the job, I told him to pay me on Upwork, which he did. However I didn't attach any job files to it. Upwork sent me a message that the job looked fishy, so i was told to send screenshot of the work I completed and the chat we had outside the platform, which I did and sent them the full chat trail.
But however, I got a mail today that I've been suspended permanently for violating their terms of service, and now i cant access my over 3k dolls funds there and also I cant access the support ticket again.

God I feel really heartbroken, I've been working hard for the past three years and even got top rated badge this year. I caa

It's very strange that you were specifically asked to send chats from outside the platform, was there no communication on Upwork at all? Might have been why they got suspicious. I hope you get your account back though.

Also using my business name corporate TIN because I don't have a personal one, the business name isn't in my legal name but it's registered in my legal name, I don't know if this won't cause wahala. Like why do they even need our TINs? Are they going to start taxing us?

1.) Do you think my UK masters certificate can cover/override my UNILAG BSc certificate
2.) Anyone knows how to get UNILAG Transcript and Certificate?

I dont know if it will get there on time if i start processing

Hi everyone, please i need advice from someone very familiar with the study visa process and France in general.

I want to go for a 'french as a foreign language' course, I've found some A1-C1 courses that last 9 months-year. My current career path (tech) is very different from my degree (law), and if I can go to France and be taught how to speak and write in French fluently, after graduation I could apply to work at a tech firm and after the French courses, language should hopefully not be a barrier.

Yeah it is, but I applied for 17 proposals and only 1 hit me back. But yesterday I decided to focus on very niche gigs.

Okay, I actually need to do better.
But then again, the amount of UI/UX jobs being posted right now isn't as much as it used to be. Maybe it's the whole holidays thing for them and things will kick back up in the new year.

The competition is really intense now than ever. I've applied to over 100 jobs between August and now and I've only gotten 2 responses, one was an Indian company and they turned out to be scam. I'm glad I discovered before we moved on. The other just asked form my CV then ghosted me, not responding to messages too.

The boosted proposal feature isn't helping as well, I once saw someone apply for a job of 4 connects and boosted their proposal with 40 connects, over 15 proposals in less than 10 minutes.

I've even been seeing boosted proposals with over 100 connects
God help us all

Anyone else struggling this November?
So far I've been getting steady back to back jobs but this November has been dryyyyy
Not a single proposal accepted, only jobs I've gotten this month have been by invites and I haven't changed my proposal style so maybe they're not seeing it?
I've also noticed that most jobs get 20-50 proposals within 10 minutes, after 10 minutes forget it, it'll have over 50 proposals

You are welcome. It is okay to feel down, but always get back up.

1) It is a game of numbers and luck.

2) Apply for the toughest vacancies. The ones with more required skills. More interview questions and maybe video/voice introduction.

3) Apply only to jobs with verified payments.

4) Apply when it is less than 5 or at most 10 to 15 proposals.

5) Always attach a portfolio in the body of your proposal. A Google link would suffice.

6) Go through reviews from past freelancers to get the client’s name. Makes them feel you did some research and you are deliberate.

7) Don’t rely on jobs that appear on your feed. Search with keywords and find hidden jobs.

8- DON’T EVER BID BELOW THE MINIMUM BUDGET! It smells of desperation! Yes, clients want cheap, but you sef think am na!

If a client says $5 - $10 per hour. The least you should do is that $5 as a beginner with no history. If you have history on Upwork, do $7. If you have been tested and trusted, you can balance on the $10.

When you grow more and have more earnings, you increase your level and rates too.

9) I do hope you have a good and professional profile picture. Let’s not lie to ourselves, people would always gravitate towards the good-looking person.

I hope the place you're learning from will place you somewhere after the course is over.

On the 16th of August I submitted all the required documents and search fee to open a corporate account with GTbank. My referees were not called until last week. Right now I’m still waiting for the ‘search report’.

I’m sorry if this is a stupid question, I’m new to this but I wanted to know if anyone has gotten ITA through own business experience. Most of the stories I’ve seen on here have included formal job experiences or family work experiences but I’ve only ever worked at the business I own myself. If I start paying myself formally with a payslip starting December will it look okay when I apply or does it not matter?

I’m sure this question has probably been asked countless times before but is it possible to migrate to Canada through just a masters programme? I know most people get into schools as an undergrad and then apply for jobs afterwards but some of us don’t have funds for 3-4 years of school.
