reverendfather: "Upwork sent me a message that the job looked fishy, so i was told to send screenshot of the work I completed and the chat we had outside the platform, which I did and sent them the full chat trail." It's very strange that you were specifically asked to send chats from outside the platform, was there no communication on Upwork at all? Might have been why they got suspicious. I hope you get your account back though. 1 Like |

qtguru: Also using my business name corporate TIN because I don't have a personal one, the business name isn't in my legal name but it's registered in my legal name, I don't know if this won't cause wahala. Like why do they even need our TINs? Are they going to start taxing us? |

Travel / Re: Study In France - Process And Enquiries Thread by TwentiesGirl(f): 8:59am On Nov 26, 2022 |
Hi everyone, please i need advice from someone very familiar with the study visa process and France in general. I want to go for a 'french as a foreign language' course, I've found some A1-C1 courses that last 9 months-year. My current career path (tech) is very different from my degree (law), and if I can go to France and be taught how to speak and write in French fluently, after graduation I could apply to work at a tech firm and after the French courses, language should hopefully not be a barrier. Thoughts? |

qtguru: 17 proposals in 7 days? Okay, I actually need to do better. But then again, the amount of UI/UX jobs being posted right now isn't as much as it used to be. Maybe it's the whole holidays thing for them and things will kick back up in the new year.

Anyone else struggling this November? So far I've been getting steady back to back jobs but this November has been dryyyyy Not a single proposal accepted, only jobs I've gotten this month have been by invites and I haven't changed my proposal style so maybe they're not seeing it? I've also noticed that most jobs get 20-50 proposals within 10 minutes, after 10 minutes forget it, it'll have over 50 proposals |

Guys, I need some advise. I have two options for sponsorship, my family account and my sister. Both have enough funds to cover my expenses but I don't know which will be better to show or if I should use both. The family account is in Naira and has the name of three of my eldest siblings (but all ending with the same surname) while my sister's account is in USD (she lives in America) |

Hi @pocohantas, thanks so much for making this thread. I always come back to read through whenever I start to feel discouraged. Do you have any advice for someone trying to get their first gig? I've watched a lot of videos and sent proposals they recommend sending but no one is getting back to me even though I even bid below the minimum budget. P.s it's for UI/UX roles so tech related 1 Like |

I hope the place you're learning from will place you somewhere after the course is over. Because the job market is so over saturated, finished my courses months ago but getting a paying position has been hell. |

Please can someone who evaluated their degree with IQAS help out here, the website is saying that we will upload our certificate ourselves to the portal but I was under the impression that most evaluation bodies required the school to send the certificate to them directly.

I’m sorry if this is a stupid question, I’m new to this but I wanted to know if anyone has gotten ITA through own business experience. Most of the stories I’ve seen on here have included formal job experiences or family work experiences but I’ve only ever worked at the business I own myself. If I start paying myself formally with a payslip starting December will it look okay when I apply or does it not matter? |

I’m sure this question has probably been asked countless times before but is it possible to migrate to Canada through just a masters programme? I know most people get into schools as an undergrad and then apply for jobs afterwards but some of us don’t have funds for 3-4 years of school. |

Fashion / How To Dye Hair Without Bleach by TwentiesGirl(f): 8:05am On Jun 25, 2019 |
It’s customary when dyeing hair especially to a lighter colour like blonde or purple to first bleach so that the lighter colour will be able to appear brightly on formerly black hair. However the process of bleaching hair is a very tricky one which, if not done right, can destroy hair. In lieu of that, hair brands have been coming up with new formulas of dyes to be used without first bleaching hair. I tried one of these hair gels which promised to temporarily dye my hair purple by simply applying it. Please check out my review below! https://youtu.be/LzScniaavQ8

Fashion / The Challenges Of Being A Naturalista That No One Tells You About by TwentiesGirl(f): 2:49pm On Jan 20, 2019 |
SAY GOODBYE TO LAST MINUTE PLANS If you follow me on MY INSTAGRAM (and you should, I post great content) you know I’m always wearing my signature afropuff. What you don’t know is that half the time my hair is either in twists or in perm rods and tucked under a satin scarf. So any plans to go out always have to be prepared for in advance. It’s kind of difficult to go for spontaneous drinks with a satin bonnet on your head. BAD HAIR DAYS ARE THE WORST KIND OF DAYS Sometimes you do a perm rod set and when you take it out it looks great, curls banging, hair stretched out, life is good. Other times, you can do every single thing right and your perm rod set will come out flat and the curls will barely be there. It’s just how these things go. OUT OF PRODUCT? MORE PROBLEMS Nothing is more annoying than running out of hair products in the middle of doing your hair and it’ll happen more often than you think. Especially since we have to use so much product to maintain moisture and curls. SHRINKAGE IS A COLD HEARTED B**** This is something all naturals have to deal with every single time moisture is introduced. Every. Single. Time. But you’re just going to have to deal with the fact that as long as other people are concerned, you hair is short when in reality it could be longer than a 14 inch weave. https://lhurvedavies.home.blog/2019/01/17/the-challenges-of-being-a-naturalista-that-no-one-tells-you-about/ |
