FamilyRe: What Kind Of Food Can One Give An Under-weight Picky Eater Toddler? by twizzie(op): 4:28pm On Oct 14, 2015
Really hard not to beat oneself.. He has always been picky as a baby...His baby bro is almost fatter than him...Yes, Pharmaton did not work either..Will try the Aptamil...My nephew was on that and he was and still a chubby boy. Meal time is always war..Surprisingly though, his lunch pack is usually empty when he comes back from School...Thanks all the same!
Tobermom:
Someone suggested pharmaton kiddi to me when my son who was 3yrs plus then was acting up. They told me he would grow such an appetite, he would eat like a horse. Well... It didnt exactly work for me. You might want to try that.
Also, what milk is he on? I hear aptamil is quite fattening. I have a friend that had to resort to that when her son didnt want to eat anything.
These children sef! I tell myself its a phase cos when i had my son he could feed for africa, infact he helped me shed my babyweight real quick, but now hes funny and will decide he wont eat bfast. Hed rather snack on popcorn. He eats things like amala (solids) pretty well. So i console myself with that
Dont beat yourself too hard on the issue. Do everything you can, but know its just a phase

Thanks.. Will check the thread out..
mrsoje:
You have to be persistent, also try using Haliborange instead of the wellbaby multivitamins. Stop offering him the food he wants instead look for other ways to prepare his food like boiling the potatoes, plantain, yam instead of frying, fruits, cereal, soya, fresh fruits etc. he will outgrow it, i understand how you feel my dd is like that too. you can get a lot of information from this forum too https://www.nairaland.com/971395/new-born-babies-u-new/348

Ease up abeg... And if you read my post, you will see that I did not in anyway discourage anyone to patronize u either... I just said this thread is anti-agent.. Maybe if you were a regular here, you'd know better...
cheers!!
educationistt:
Am sure you can see that flier isn't selling anything to you. Only asking people to attend a seminar. No one will force you to patronize an agent. The seminar is free and all questions are entertained.

Never discourage anyone from getting information that could prove useful to him/her. No one has a gun at another's head to patronize agents. Our seminar is only an info-session.

Cheers!

Na wa o... People can be mean sha....And she is family? I sense a streak of jealousy.... Good thing you are out of that kind toxic environment...What would have been her reaction with a fussy baby?
Hian!
Tobermom:
cheesy cheesy. Well to be honest, she no send and neither did i. I dont think she believed i could have another option cos she had categorically told me that if i had planned my trip properly as i claimed then i would have planned for accommodation. cheesy . i told her it wasnt late and she said she didnt care .her mum even ordered me not to go anywhere. To go became another drama, so i just waka o. I only sent an sms that i had left and thanking her for her hospitality. That may not appear "cool" but the girl had done me strong tin and wasnt even talking to me at the time. I havent heard from her since she told me that i had a package with her so i should come get it ( which ive done) everyone seems to be happy and thats ok by me

My people,i have been reading and reading here from the last thread. I am packaging my application for masters. i intend to apply to 4 schools for Sept 2016 entry. i understand its wiser to apply to more than one school from what i read here. Hopefully i should get admission. My bigger concern is with TRV i think.]
Since you said we should encourage you... Let me be the first to do that...hehehe...
MO, play on the fact that this has always been your dream... You wanted to study earlier but was limited..First, fund, later Family...
You decided to focus on your career, then family while saving for your masters and having saved enough and your daughter is old enough to be left alone for a year, you have decided to pursue your dream... You could also cite that what spurred you to action was you reading a story of an old man who enrolled in school at a very old age(google this).. Age shouldn't be a barrier to achieving your dream..
cheers!

Me sef...The story is just plain annoying! As far as I am concerned, they did not do anything wrong! 18k dollars is not too small considering the fact that the rest of the family will be going back in a few weeks...
She should get an immigration lawyer to appeal the Visa cancellation... That's just plain wrong and wicked!!!
I know they say the visa doesn't guarantee admittance into the US but THAT doesn't mean one should be treated like this!! To think they are frequent visitors sef... We as Nigerians need to start talking for ourselves!! Entrance into US is not a right(We know that) but that does not mean one should be treated like trash! Cancelling the visa of the whole family? That is prejudice...She should just get a lawyer ASAP...
It's times like this I wish my papa no force me go science class for SS1... Na Law I been wan read o...

My toddler is almost 30 months and a very picky eater... He is under weight as he is like in the 10th percentile in weight and height. He practically wants to live on fluids (Mostly milk) and sometimes cereal... He likes fries and pastries too but we all know that isn't really healthy... We have tried so many things with little result... He is presently on Well Baby Multivitamins...
Suggestions on fattening foods and recipes will help please.
Thanks!

There really isn't much you can do than to wait till you get a response from them.. You have already submitted so anything been said wouldn't change nothing...Just remain hopeful and see the outcome...As said by some people here, there is nothing like a perfect application. Hope you get a favorable response...

I think its better you apply alone..When you get your TRV, your wife can then apply for SOWP.
The fact that you are a married man and your father is sponsoring you will raise brows not to now talk of an additional dependent; your wife..
Also, you stated that your Dad's annual income is 11m which he gets in monthly installments. So he will be giving you 8m, which is about 72% of his annual income..How feasible is that? You need to ask yourself so how will your dad fare on the little remaining..Are there other sources of income for him? If yes, then please state there and also provide proof..(Rent from property is an easy one)
Also, you stated that his balance now is 50k..My bro, hope you don't intend to apply with that?
It's just easier to apply alone first..It eases the financial burden on your sponsor and your wife also serves as your tie back home..

afolaseg:
Thanks BeulahHephziba for your response. I am the applicant with 2m and my sponsor has 8m. My dad anual income is 11m. But as at today, he has abt 50k balance in his account, so he want to request for a letter from head office stating his anual income is 11m and he can assist I and my spouse incase of any immagency. but can I include my dad statement of account with #50k balance ? Or is the letter from head office okay?

Waiting for response pls..

LOL... Thanks for your honesty... Nobody on this thread can tell me they intend coming back after their schooling..Maybe one or two... Some that boast and say they will, end up not coming back once they set foot in obodo Oyinbo.

As for defaulters, where do you put Indians and Mexicans? Naija na learner besides those people...
I understand your frustration @Hayqin, but believe me, every application is treated individually... Unfortunately, the VOs sometimes can't tell those who are genuine..
@Thesoj, congrats to your Sis!! sending you PM later in the day!

Sometimes, the time we use to dig out people's old post just to castigate or find faults can be used to answer them...
I know some people want to be spoon fed or whatever, but plsssssssss, If you cannot help, kindly ignore...I find it distasteful when people find time to dig out other people's post just to find conflicting info they have previously posted and then post like 20 lines just to prove their investigative skills but cannot or will not bother to post one line of any contributing info as regards their request...

If you can't help any newbie or oldie(as the case may be), kindly ignore their request...

What kind of visa are you applying for? To the best of my knowledge, if it is non-immigrant, you do not need any kind of medicals! You get your visa on the spot..

Me sef, I been wan tell say I know ur moniker... All of you GBIUSA thread members ehn....
My advice Patty, apply alone...Your children might not need to apply cos they are US Citizens..I don't think they need Visa to enter Canada.
Apply alone, using them and hubby as home tie. Then when you get TRV, you can take them along... Make sure though you specify them in the family form and their place of birth so no case of omission or mis-representation will come up..
I once did an assessment online for my family and when it got to the point of my baby, result was I do not need Visa for the baby as He is an America Citizen...I think you just do some form of paperwork at the POE.. My take is to do a lot of research online...You stand a better chance if you don't include them in your application..
I stand to be corrected though!
.Just like you, I cannot leave my children for any reason..

As much as we cannot remove the God factor, I think it is pretty obvious why things are working for her... From little I gathered here, she be Efikko... Have you heard of the term Brain drain? There are some people all these developed countries cannot just afford to ignore...Upon all the nerds they have in first world countries, they still poach and recruit form developing countries..They pick Naija's best and give them mouth offering offers cos they don't even want them coming home...And as Nigeria doesn't appreciate or give room for improvement, who will look back?

Morale of my Epistle? Make yourself an asset! Even if you are denied visa, your school will fight to have you!!

Congrats Team12! Your family is blessed...
*Back to school search*
TempusQ:
Hope after securing the TRV for your hubby, you'll tell every one the secret behind your uncommon system.
Yours was 23 days for TRV,
Now, your hubby is 13 days for medicals.
Seriously, the Grace is much, I keep thinking on how you bank it.
All the same, you're blessed...
CONGRATULATION!!!

Ok.. Now I am very impressed... This is rare! Most people serve God cos of what we want Him to do for us... That's why the teaching of give so God can bless you sells well in Naija...Like say God is 'Gba Paro' I'll give you small, you give me Big....
Just forge ahead dear.... Better things coming your way!
Crich:
Thanks dear.
I'm not serving God cos of His blessings but because He loves me and I love Him. It's just sweet and unconditional.

Yea.. Thanks a lot... Infact, I already have a draft of the SOP in my head though I don't even have admission yet... lol....Still checking for schools though..Will keep you updated..Thanks for your time...

thesoj:
Hmm another BSc, in Social Work, won't necessarily cause a delay. You will just have to convince the VO in your SOP why you are making this change. You will write about experiences you've had (since finishing your first BSc) that shaped this new passion of yours. If you've done lots of volunteer activities that demonstrate your new passion in social work, then you would include all that in your SOP as well as supporting evidence for same in your application. You would in general talk about the things you have done that demonstrate your passion for social work, and how this new training would help you make a greater impact in Nigeria in a number of areas that you would discuss in the essay. The SOP would have to be very convincing, and I think this is doable.

Thanks..Just seeing this.. Well, that;s the issue..I haven't made up my mind yet... I have a bsc in Technology Management and I have been working for a while but the issue is I want to change career completely.. I want to do what I am passionate about which is Social work.. I know I cant do a PGD straight as I have no background in social work so I might have to do another Bsc which is almost a reason for a delay...

That's why I told @waleakin to wait it out dor at least two days... So it wont't be like the case of Laureek's hubby's case that didn't see the other mail until he had paid and went to IOM for Meds...I believe you have your TRV already by God's grace but waiting for a couple of days is just advisable...MO pls
