I understand that a good writer must ensure that any work carried out must be plagiarism-free. my brother experience has always taught me to follow the project description to the letter. some employer just want you to rewrite by changing the structure of the sentence while others want you to rewrite by avoiding plagiarism. this employer project description depicts the former. I felt that since replicating what I did in the sample test (changing the structure of the sentence) that I passed was all what he needed, I shouldn't bother about plagiarism. I am displeased with this employer as a result of his lack of empathy. he doesn't even believe he has any fault at all. he even has the gut to ask me to cancel the milestone. Kai

guys, please I need your advice on this issue before I dispute.

An employer awarded me a project to rewrite an article for him on freelancer. the deadline of submission is 10 hours. He told me to submit half of the project 5 hours later so that he can suggest any amendment if he is not satisfied. Before he awarded me the project he gave a sample to rewrite. And I did that by intermittently by changing simple sentence to compound, compound to simple, and sometimes simple to complex sentence. Before he awarded the project to me, he didn't mention anything about PLAGIARISM. 5 hours later, I submitted my first batch to him. Because I didn't receive any response from him 2 hours after the first submission, I proceeded with the work so as to meet the deadline. 10 hours after I have rewritten and submitted the article, he requested me to rewrite the article because of issues of plagiarism. To my chagrin, I told him I was very tired and exhausted but I will try to amend or rewrite half of the work. he gave me five more hours to complete the work. Because I was very tired and exhausted (i don dey work for almost 12 hours on that day), I couldn't meet the new deadline. However i submitted the work 1 hour after the new deadline. My employer said that he won't release the milestone and that the work I still submitted has some plagiarism issue, which he didn't show me. Despite my plea that he should award me a simple task to ameliorate his loss, he remained intractable. In sum, he said he wouldn't release the milestone. GUYS DO YOU THINK I STAND A CHANCE OF WINNING THIS DISPUTE. THE AMOUNT OF CONTENTION IS $20

it depends on the niche you are writing on but most importantly, ask your customer the number of WORDS. The number of words will determine how much you will charge!!

I made sure the MasterCard l used for verification no longer has even one kobo in it as it is not linked to any of my bank accounts, it was an over the counter MasterCard and so freelancer only get their cut only when l am paid as they have no business with my bank accounts and once the client pay me, Freelancer collects their cuts l immediately head to withdraw funds to my skrill account...l can;t shout!

Freelancer.com charges can be high. Why do they choose to remove $5 or 10% from your funds anytime you accept a project you won?

The fact that we need to pay our tithe is not a law(must) neither is it a basis for making heaven (cos all earthly reward remains here) but paying our Tithe challenges God by his word to open the windows of heaven...


The issue now is the purpose for which this tithe is meant. God explicitly stated that there may be food in my house.

My understanding is that the word food shouldn't be centered solely on the Pastors/Priests alone but the needy in the house of God. Now my purpose for pulling up this is to ask...do we satisfy fully the purpose of God with our Tithes or its one sided?

God loves it better to give it to those who are suffering and in need than bring it to His sanctuary all the time...He desires kindness above code of conducts....either you give your tithe or not, that's not my concern. This issues has been thrashed times without number on NL. Even the tithe you mentioned is not applicable in the new covenant (God loves a cheerful giver, not a tithe adherent). The reason for adopting tithe is in church nowadays is not because of one blessing, but because money will be available to do some certain things, and people won't give if you don't squeeze them (there is a reason behind this) So they have to devise a means to collect it as to run the church as if it is some kind of earthly organization. so it is optional.

I have to make a comment on this thread. Firstly I discovered this thread last week, I was already inspired after reading up to page 3, I paused and immediately e-mailed ladywriter for advice which she replied within a good time frame(by the way, I had registered on freelancer .com since 2010 but was discourage as I didn't get any job and backed out). I continued reading till the last page then (page 66), went back to freelancer.com to reactivate my account ASAP, got my Payment system verified and took the US English test. By this time I had more than 100 bids and I started bidding for more than 5 jobs each day as I was advised, but surprisingly till now I haven't won any bid and the only job I won was the the scammed guy that we were told to run away from on this thread. Now things like this might discourage us the newbies, especially some of us that have this writing skills and are just ready to work.

I want to appreciate everyone on this thread that has contributed towards encouraging people like us with inspirational and testimonial write ups, God bless you all.

You have to me patient....same as mine who started late last month, but what encouraged me is that i have been contacted by some employers which i turned down their work since it is not my line....it will come....scammers too dey for freelancing.com along with time wasters...just be careful. You must know also that it is highly competitive, one of these days, you will hit one that will bring the reviews you so desire!!!

It is pretty difficult to live in this part of the world as a true follower of Jesus Christ but what will a follower of Christ be without temptation and ridicule?

not all wish to live a double standard life...some it is deliberate, while others fall from their stand!! You should know about spiritual warfare and some if not strong will be subdued by it. What is wrong is continuing in it. I concur with safarigirl. I have experienced all sides, both sin and righteousness. And I tell you, righteousness pays and it is lovely. I have experienced the torments of sin and the uplifting of righteousness. I came to a conclusion: those who continue to engage in it outside the designated institution have a seared conscience or none at all. Something is just wrong somewhere when you feel cool and no remorse. No justification for transgression and I pray that God should not erase the memory of what have known if I encountered a sin situation!!

I met her in a church program in December last year. I proposed to her in January and she accepted. my life in the past 4 months with her has been a dream come true. I was lost for words. was ds my lady? I was confused. I demanded to speak to d guy myself. she refused. I wanted to explode then she gave me d number. I called d guy and introduced myself and inquired of d guy if what my woman said was true. at ds point d guy flared up calling my woman unprintable words. he angrily told me that my woman came to him long ago and asked him to hook her up with a rich woman. that he wants to punish her for being a lesbian. blah blah blah......so many revelations I cant say her for respect to my woman.

well, the lunch date was ruined already. I coolly but sternly asked her to go home from the restaurant. I was boiling inside. she followed me back to my office. Just avoid them in future and never do those off site interactions thru email unless you are close to the client. Do everything thru Freelancer and make sure the 100% milestone has been paid even before pressing that ACCEPT PROJECT button.

the last statement is true, newbies should take note, one indian sent me a message like that, have had the experience twice now. They will say u should pay $20 for registration fee for a project to be awarded by the company. SMH, na naija u wan scam ba? Freelancer.com is too jampacked with scammers and time wasters.

actually, the most funny thing about this thing was that I saw a project last week or so....*nd the Employer in CAPITAL LETTERS said Asians and Indians should keep off. I don laugh tire ....and anytime i'm just scrolling thrgh projects and I saw anyone with a miserly pay....ur guess is as good as mine...it is 98% indian.
