listen up dude, Nigeria has never had the kind of tribal politics we have in Kenya, infact Kenya is an isolated case in Africa. Nigerian have regional power arrangements like north, south east,south west, south south. so there has never been ethnic, even biafra was not purely an igbo affair there were other tribes too, plus Nigeria has more than 200 ethnic communities so you can balk anise the country into 200 regions, can you? on the other hand we have 42 tribes and only five that are engaged in cut throat competition for power. the sooner we weaken the center to a point that the presidency is nothing but bones the better for us, one day you will remember this post and say that i made sense, just wait until 2022!!

We have used a tiny amount of gas for electricity generations.we didn't do uranium.We haven't export any graphites.we didn't touch copper.we haven't started iron ore.We haven't do helium.The only gold we did is less than 10% of total reserves,over 90% of our gold is still unearthed.

All those stuff I mentioned are in huge quantities.We are just starting to do mining.

and what breeds tribalism? first answe that question and you will get your answer, remember tribalism is very much overt in kenya. go through the numerous proposals at the BBI and see what every one is presenting, maximum of 22 regions is the most common proposal. and what do you think these proposal is going to look like once they are drawn? do you think kalenjins will share reion with luos or luos with luhyia or even kisii's with the maasai? you know better that these!

i talked about major tribes in Kenya being the problem, not the minor ones, and to respond appropriately, yes the cities and major towns are cosmopolitan but that does not change the tribal nature of the politics there, can a luo be elected governor in nakuru? read my line of thought very carefully, you are saying nyanza and central what about western for the luhyias and lower eastern counties for the kambas, or kalenjin counties from baringo to uasin gishu. the counties are drawn on ethnic lines, even the two gusii counties, 95% are gusii with small luo population as indegenes

JUST IN: Boko Haram reportedly captures Borno town

Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly captured Marte, the headquarters of Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.

Daily Trust reports that the insurgents stormed the Marte military base, 153 Task Force Battalion, shooting sporadically and in the process razed “everything”.

It quoted a military source as saying on Monday: “The insurgents seem not to have intended harming any civilian, but only to capture the town; so they stormed the military base, taking troops there unawares at about 6pm (Sunday) much less than an hour to break fast time”.

“We engaged them in a fierce encounter for about an hour. Initially, we were about getting victorious over them, but they overpowered us, and all troops in the burning base were set asunder, with all of us fleeing in all directions in the bush.
“I can tell you that we were about defeating them; but God knows the tactics they later deployed and the defeat turned against us; we all fled; they are in control of the town now.”

According to another fleeing source, “casualty figures cannot be confirmed on both sides, with all of us fleeing in all directions into the bush, and many of us finding their way to Maiduguri, and majority still roaming in the bush."

“Many of us who are lucky to find our way to Maiduguri or any safe community will elope to their home states across the country to relieve themselves of the trauma.”

sharia law is a law for Muslims and about 13 states in nigeria is predominantly Muslim. Being a federal govt allows state to choose thier respective policies without compromising national constitution.

ur perspective is clouded with sentiment n I'll ignore the "dysfunctional" part of ur post but it's very necessary for countries to adopt whatever structure that's suitable for them.

federalism is working in nigeria, i dont know Kenya's formation to ascertain it's workability. All power are not yet devolved to d nigerian states, but the necessary ones are devolved.. police has just been approved to be devolved to states. Education, health, water resources, transport within d border of states are among d devolved power.... with complement from d FG.

Nigeria has 3 tiers of gov and Federalism has nothing to do with ethnicity.
