mybad: So where can i get the visa application form online?Bro, I will try to answer your questions here as much as I can. That way, others can benefit. No real need to do private e-mails. Cheers man. |
obam: pls guyz how do I send money from southy to naija? That's a good question I've been trying to get answers to. Anybody with an answer? A cheap way of doing this? |
mybad: So where can i get the visa application form online?Study permit or visitors permit? You can get the visitor's permit online from http://www.vfsglobal.com/southafrica/nigeria/pdf/Application_Form_040213.pdf The online version of the study permit is slightly different from what you will get at the consular. It's better you get to the consular (not VFS) to pick up this form. They will also give you the medical report form to fill. Please get to the consular. Cheers and all the best. |
september14: MY brother has a permanent resident permit, be he his in Nigeria presently, his wife is a citizen, but she is also not in the country resently and these letters have to be notarized in S.a. And yes Afda has an Agent that finds accomodation for its students and they found one for me for R2000 a month. So you mean even if I pay for 2months in advance, the embassy might not accept this? Give me an answer to this particular question. Thanks.Seriously? Like I have an obligation to answer you? #RUDE. |
dannie007: Good day nairalander's please I want to throw out a question please I will need advice on it. My friend who planned traveling with me to SA during his leave lost his Mum, couldn't travel again due to cost of burial and everything so his Visa will be expiring next week, so what advice can I grab here to relate to him cos he plans to reapply for a visit next year. Just came back from SA, its a beautiful place to visit.Personally, I would say he should apply when he wants and explain in his letter of motivation why he couldn't embark on that trip. However, this may not be the best advice. Let others weigh in on this please. |
muyikool: @TYPOP I don't have bta with me but I have some little cash cos my brother is comming to pick me at the airport and am holding visitor visa.thanksYou may/may not have issues with customs in Naija. Once you leave Naija, you have no probs. BTA is not an issue when you enter SA. Since it's Naija, you can persuade them and explain yourself. You should be free to go on. Let your bro also advise you since he's in the Republic already. |
julianauche19: Please can someone tell me wat to do.I went to my school to demand for my transcript to submit to SAQA .but they said they can't give me.that they have to address it to them.is it true.cos I tot am supposed to put all my results together and submit all togetherIt depends on your school. For example, my school gives you a personal copy the first time you applied for a transcript. What you can also do is request for the transcript and put the address of an office of someone you know there. You then get it from such person. The address on the transcript does not matter. SAQA will still process. If they accept, you can use your own address. Cheers, all the best man. And maybe some other folks have an advice. |
collinsfbi: Gbam over n out@Collinsfbi, been a long time we saw you here last. Just checking up on you. I learnt all I know now about all these stuff because of you and fellow NL here. Leaving us so soon? Hope you're good? Cheers man, and good luck with that car. ![]() |
muyikool: Pls Do I need a BTA to travel to south africa from nigeria?Customs might claim you need it. Truth is, you don't. Talk to them, they should give you free passage. However, I hope you have some rands to spend once you arrive (unless someone is picking you at the airport). Cheers man. |
opsy4real1: hi all, is anyone with the idea how long it takes one to get his/her repartriation deposit back from the south africa embassy and the procedures? Thank uA friend said he processed in 2-3 weeks. Certainly not immediate. Cheers and all the best. |
namqul: if south africa stamp my passport for forge document the ban is like how many month?Read Horladotune's post and people's responses on pages 15 - 17. Here is the link: https://www.nairaland.com/944102/general-south-africa-visa-enquiries/15#13323299. Also note that he is in SA now (as shown by the pictures he has been posting). That means he was able to enter SA about 9 months after he was denied for forged docs. https://www.nairaland.com/944102/general-south-africa-visa-enquiries/62#18944378 https://www.nairaland.com/944102/general-south-africa-visa-enquiries/63#19308796 I hope you are clean though. Cheer and all the best. |
Horladortune: On the streets of Panorama, Cape TownJust to remind people of your lies. This same guy claimed he is coming for medical treatment latest Dec 2012. LOL. Do you really need to remind people all that happened in your history by posting all these pics (especially knowing your history with forged documents)? Some guys appal me. Gosh! See his post here: https://www.nairaland.com/944102/general-south-africa-visa-enquiries/16#13345870 |
barakah: I'm not quite clear about the figures here.Yes, you need the repatriation fees. Otherwise, some people will turn holiday into permanent residency. Having 110k back home is worth coming back home for (to some people, not all). However, paying it depends on the consular officer that attends to you. They don't ask everybody to pay. The bank statement is just to show you can afford your stay there. While you can get your permit with much less in your account, having more gives you an edge when the consular is making his decision. He thinks "this guy is not likely to be a liability in my country" if you have much. For the guy that has 250k, he may think "so, what happens if something happens and you have to spend some money you didn't plan for?" If however you don't have that much, you should still submit your application. It shouldn't deter you. Trust in God, submit and believe for the best. BTW, the price I gave for transportation is now changing. Tickets now go as high as 140k (and as low as 100k). Depends on when you book for your flight. Cheers man. |
Phumie phumie: plsYou should secure the permit. But make sure you've made some necessary payments - health insurance and school fees especially. |
september14: Please I will like to get information about student accomodation in S.a, actually I am going there to study film making at afda for 3 yrs, but they do not offer accomodation. It is therefore my personal responsibility, and I was hopinh I could pay a 2month accomodation rent in advance. Would the s.a embassy here in nigeria accept this? While I do not know if the embassy will accept 2 months rent in advance, I can tell you that AFDA is in Auckland Park (if you are coming to the Joburg centre) and you should be able to get accomodation for between R2000 and R3000 depending on what you want. It may be single or sharing. Also, the usual practice is to pay on a monthly basis but you may be able to have a way. Why not discuss your challenge with AFDA and ask them to secure accomodation for you while you pay? Is this possible? Otherwise, you will need someone to look around for you and try to get one for you. But the best advice I can give you is to look for someone with a permanent permit to give you a letter that they will accomodate you. Once you get here, you can now go house hunting and get your own appartment. You usually have to deposit when you are first moving in (usually the same amount as your rent). You will get your deposit back when moving out if all is well with the house as per damages. Cheers man, all the best. |
Exline101: MY PEOPLE......I AM CURRENTLY IN SOUTH AFRICA AND I APPLIED FOR A STUDY PERMIT AND I TRACKED IT ONLINE AND IT SAY'S "APPLICATION PROCESSED" AND IT HAVE BEEN COUPLE OF MONTHS SINCE I APPLIED SO I WANT TO KNOW IF IS OUT OR SOMETHING?It says processed. Go collect it na. |
poultry-farmer:Not true. SAQA processing has nothing to do with the embassy. Contact SAQA directly or let someone you already know help you. I dissuade against agents BTW. |
surecan: Please can some body that read education economics in a state university get masters admission to study in South Africa without doing honors.Yes. Your certificate from Nigeria is already a Hons degree. However, SAQA needs to decide whether the grade you graduated with is good enough for direct masters. A very strong 2:2 (2.35 on a 5.0 scale) will qualify you for direct masters. |
Nnaaiirra: SOS @TYPOP and others.Sorry nobody attended to you on time. Apologies. |
cacius: . Hello Westcodes. Thank you for explaining to me in details how to go about getting my police certificate from Nigeria. I will be getting the finger prints in Ibadan since I am here presently. I just need a little clarity from you. I tried to call the criminal record office in SA in charge of police certificate but I was put on hold for too long. I wanted to know where to download that SA form you were talking about. I tried to google it but couldn't find it. Do I need to fill any form also with Nigeria police that I will send to them or is just d finger print paper I will send? A police man told me at the state police headquarters in Ibadan that the finger print is the normal ink pad thing because I thought there is a special kind of paper for that. Plz a friend is traveling to SA this weekend kindly respond to my post today if you get it. I have been trying to get intouch with u to know more about this. Thanks. All the best man. |
femmoy: what part of ibadan are u? please lemme know so we can meet and relate better. Why can't you relate with her here and let others gain from you? @cacius, you can ask your questions here. People will answer you. If you however feel you need to meet with someone, all the best. I wish you well. |
Idrismusty97: Can someone estimate the total amount you will need to go to south African.Visa, passport etc included. ThanksPolice Certificate - depends on how well you can negotiate - 3 - 10k Medical Cert - about 500 Visa Application - about 18k Repatriation fees - 110k Plane ticket - about 110k (unless you're flying first/middle class) Accomodation - depends on your hotel. Can't estimate Bank statement - about 600k is fine (may be part of the above) What else am I missing? |
Martins459: Hi peeps, I got my 3 months SA tourist visa yesterday. This came on the heels of previous Visa denial earlier in the year when my application was denied on the grounds that the signature on bank statement lacks credibility.I think I remember your case. I'm glad for you. Cheers dude. |
femmoy: please house when i tracked my SA visa to know its status, this is what i got 'Processed application is ready for collection from The South Africa Visa Application Center,Lagos as on 18/10/2013.It means they have finished processing your application. You have to get there, collect it to know whether they granted or denied you visa. I hope they granted you. All the best. |
Hey guys. Been away for so long. Let's attempt to answer some questions and put a smile on some people's faces. All the bosses in the house, #Respect. Wendy80: Pls Can som1 enlighten ♍ε̲̣̣̣̥ on how n requirement 2get an SA visa......I'm going on VacationYou will need to go through earlier posts. This question has been answered a lot of time. Take some time to go through the first 4 pages, come back to answer specific questions. Hope I'm not rude? |
opsy4real1: hello house, a friend is submitting his application on monday . He earns 120k monthly salary which reflects in his statement of account but he got an advance (50k)part of his salary in mid June before june salary due and when his salary account was credited for dat month june 70k was credited into his account against 120k as the 50k collected ahead of his salary had been deducted. So frm feb, mar, april, may (120k is reflected in his statement of acct as salary deposit)while 70k reflected in june as salary deposit and july also reflect 120k. Now he wanted to knw if dat wont affect his application that way and if they wud undastand why it was so....pls shed light. In the end, what the embassy wants to see is cash flow and the ability to pay for your expenses while in their country. The advance should not matter. And if he got the advance in his account as well, what he got at the end of that month will still be equal to his normal salary so no qualms. And if he got the advance cash, it's still not likely to be a problem. |
thosinemike: thanks bro. pls how can i go about d SAQA evaluation?Hmmm, you can get the form online but the most important thing is how to pay. I believe some guys here can help you with that. Get the form filled first then you can ask about how to pay for it. You can get the form from http://www.saqa.org.za/docs/brochures/ceeq_form.pdf Read the instructions to know what documents you need. |
Too bad I've been away from this thread for a long time. Just sorted registration in school and finally have access to the internet. It's been good here so far, only I need to get used to the cold. And yeah, I know the cold is going already. Still feels cold though. Thanks everyone once more foe your help. Ciao. |
thosinemike: pls house, i need some information about studying in SA, which is better btw UCT and uni kwazulu-natal in terms of cost of study and living for undergraduate international student and must i travel to SA for SAQA evaluation or can i do it here in NaijaFor which is better, you need to do some google search. But no, you have to do your SAQA before you get admission. You MAY or MAY NOT attach it to apply for VISA though. |
Hmmm. I totally forgot to come back here to report. Hello guys. I applied in Abuja about 7 weeks ago for a student visa. I got it last week and was given about one and half years multiple entry. I applied myself using all the info I learnt on this thread. Thumbs up guys, you're the best. SA, here I come. |
seyman02: collins baba is repatration money still existing ni?coz das is my concern of still not starting wit d processing. My first instinct was to ignore your post. When you direct your question to only one individual, that tends to happen. You would have done well if you started with "Collins baba and other NL users" or something close to that. I should also point out that @Collinsfbi is the most consistent and, probably, the most knowledgeable in these issues. So, this is not to unaappreciate what he has done or disrepect him. Double Gbosa for you @Collinsfbi. #Respect. However, I will still venture to answer your question. Yes, the repatriation fee is still being paid by majority of applicants. There are a few however, who escape paying it. Cheers. |
opsy4real1: are dis documents ok for application by corper. Photocopy of call up letter, copy of posting and acceptance leta, nysc i.d card? Thank u.Isn't it not an offense to leave your NYSC posting? Isn't it called absconding? And you want to tender an application with those same documents? If the embassy know about Nigeria as they should, they will deny such an application (UNLESS you have a letter from NYSC releasing you to travely). If your friend wants to apply as a youth corps member, in my opinion, he/she should forget about mentioning NYSC. It's not a plus for him/her, it's a minus. Others who know better may have contrary opinions anyway. |
